I love Thanksgiving and Christmas romances. It’s something that I see like tradition for myself. Every year I wait for the new and romantic stories that give me all the warm and beautiful feelings.
This story is a Thanksgiving story and it’s so fricking good, that I can’t stop to grin like a fool the whole day .
From enemies to lovers, sweet, swoony and dreamy story about love and Thanksgiving traditions.
Just the perfect example why I love Jessica’s books so much.
She never disappoints and always creates something so amazing and heart-warming, unbelievable
I really love this book and the way it was written.
Where I’m coming from we don’t have Thanksgivings (what’s very sad ), but the way this holiday or better yet this book described it, it could as well be a Christmas story in my country (we celebrate 24th, 25th and 26th of December like that. Trust me you need a solid diet afterwards ).
And I’m currently thinking about preparing some pierogi Jessica Gadziala even though I normally do them only for Christmas.
When you’re looking for holidays romance like me at this time of the year, I recommend to read this one.
I’m sure you’ll love it and enjoy it just like I did.

First can I say this cover… Its amazing! There Better Be Pie is a Thanksgiving holiday read from Jessica Gadziala. Yes you heard right, this lady can do it all even write holiday romance books that grab you by the heart strings! I loved every single page of this book. The bickering, the jabs all leading up to Jett and her nemesis, Trip Freaking Martin realising that there is actually a thin line between love and hate.
This was such a lovely read and I couldn’t put it down. I literally read it in one sitting and had no regrets, sleep be damned! Totally recommend it if your looking for something beautiful to read over the holiday season give this a go.
I have mixed feelings about this book. The first half was a real struggle. I disliked the heroine so much that it affected my enjoyment at the beginning and I struggled to keep reading. However, I have much faith in JG and her writing, and I knew she would give me a happy ending. I therefore pushed myself to get to the finish and was not disappointed.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS: Trip worked closely with Jett’s dad. It was clear early on that Jett felt guilty and uncomfortable, mainly because of her choice not to work in the family business. As a result, she had a chip on her shoulder which she took out on Trip. Because of the close relationship between her father and Trip, Jett not only believed her dad thought of Trip as the son he never had, but that her father actually respected Trip’s work opinion more than hers. This resulted in Jett spending years being jealous and snide towards Trip.
While I adored Trip, he did make a few comments to Jett that weren’t necessarily called for. However, they were usually after she spit fire at him first, and Trip never said anything anywhere near as hateful to Jett as what she said to him. END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.
Once Trip and Jett called a truce, the story was much more enjoyable. I liked getting both of the character’s POVs and I also liked both of Jett’s parents. There Better Be Pie ended up being a sweet story and I’m glad I stuck it out until the end.

There Better Be Pie is a stand alone, Thanksgiving themed novella by Jessica Gadziala. This is a short, feel good enemies to lovers romance that is sure to put you in the mood for turkey and all the trimmings, not to mention, pie!
Juliette (Jett) Kensley was the only child to her very wealthy parents and owners of the Kensley Automotive empire. Jett is very close to her parents. It’s Thanksgiving and she has been looking forward to spending a few days with them relaxing, cooking with her mother, and eating until she pops. Until her mother informs her that they also invited Jett’s nemesis, the man who antagonizes her every time they see each other, the man she can’t be around for more than two minutes before they are arguing, the last man she wants to spend her holiday with, Trip Martin.
Jett’s father, who is also Trip’s boss, is more like a father to him as well, has invited Trip to spend a family Thanksgiving with the Kensley’s. Trip didn’t have anywhere else to spend the holiday and he was looking forward to spending the time with the man who had come to mean so much to him. But not so much Jett. Everyone else seemed to love Jett. They called her a ray of sunshine. To him she was more like a dark cloud. How were they going to stand being together over the next few days?
Things didn’t start off very well between Jett and Trip. The insults instantly began flying. But a funny thing happened as these two spent forced time together. They finally actually began talking, sharing, even laughing. And they both began to finally see the person others saw in the other. A kind hearted, intelligent person. There was something else between them as well. All that arguing over the years had actually been the chemistry they shared, just misdirected. They both realized that it had been there all along, this attraction. Just what are they going to do about it?
This was a short, sweet, sexy little feel good romance. These two had been leading up to this moment for years and it was so much fun to finally watch them fall. Jett’s parents were adorable. I have to admit, though, that at first, I wasn’t sure about Trip. I felt like he was a bit condescending. But I warmed up to him quickly. By the end, I loved him. So, if you want to put yourself in the Thanksgiving holiday mood, this is the perfect way to do it. Prepare to be hungry.
And FINALLY, Thanksgiving gets its own romantic tale, with PIE! Thank you Jessica Gadziala for seeing a need and “filling” it!
THERE BETTER BE PIE is a devilishly sweet, kind of sappy, snarky and fun romance that centers around one of my favorite things…food, in Thanksgiving Day abundance, of course! The perfect holiday for two rivals to bury the hatchet and discover that love and hate really are two sides of the same coin!
Like a broken record I will say it: Jessica Gadziala has done it, AGAIN! She left me smiling, smirking and tossing a wink at some brilliantly devious parents who prove they do still know more than their hard-headed child!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala! This is my honest and voluntary review.
Love these little holiday romances Jessica writes.. Two people who can’t be around each other without bickering find themselves thrown together at her parents estate in Maine for Thanksgiving. Over the course of their time together they discover the fine line between love and hate. Loved and was so happy it had a epilogue..
I absolutely loved this Thanksgiving novella from Jessica Gadziala! I’m a bit of a sucker for her standalones especially when they are holiday themed… and There Better Be Pie was everything! This enemies to lovers read will have you smiling, laughing & walking around with all the heart eyes for sure.
Juliette (Jette) can’t figure out why her Dad brought his favourite employee home for Thanksgiving, unless it’s to point out her failures again.
Trip can’t figure out why Jette would walk away from her Dad’s entire organization, unless she just doesn’t appreciate the family she has.
Quickly, through Jette’s emotional gaffes it’s very apparent what her Dad wants, how Jette has felt for years, and that Trip may never feel like he measures up. This time though, Jette’s parents are determined to give her and Trip the chance they’ve both been ignoring.
A yummy, sweet holiday novella with fun, sexy times and plenty of pie leftover.
I freaking loved Jett and Trip Martin. This is the perfect holiday read. I got to curl up under my favorite blanket and dive in. This couple had so much fire and passion simmering between them. Enemies to lovers. When Jett and Trip finally clicked everything just fell in to place for them. The Thanksgiving day traditions were really sweet. And of course there is all kinds of pie Ladies curl up in between cooking for your loved ones and enjoy!
I absolutely adored this Thanksgiving themed book about Tripp and Juliette. Tripp works for Juliette’s Dad and anytime they are in each other’s presence, fighting ensues. But when forced to spend Thanksgiving together with her family for the first time, the two of them start to come to their senses and figure why it is exactly they are always fighting. As her mom says, there is a fine line between love and hate.
Grab this sweet romance and indulge in some sweetness over the upcoming holidays.
