I have spent my entire life in the basement of my father’s church. My sadistic mother and god-fearing father believe I have the devil inside of me because I heal after their abuse. I’d accepted long ago I would die in the very place I’d been born without ever feeling the sun on my skin. Then one day, my mother took me from my father’s religious cult in the wake of his death. Nearly a week later, … later, and after countless hours with her boyfriend Jed’s creepy remarks, I find myself in Washington State. I had only ever interacted with my parents and now Jed, so you can imagine my surprise when I ran smack dab into possibly the most handsome man in the world. He’s not alone though, there are intriguing and handsome men popping up everywhere in my life.
Except I shouldn’t be focusing on that. I should be preparing for my mother’s cruel hits. Preparing to run the minute I turn 18. Preparing to hide from Jed’s leering comments and uncomfortable stares. One interaction with this man and I feel like my entire life has been altered.
Five days until I turn 18. Five days until my mother realizes what happens when you keep a bird cooped up for too long, only to open its cage. Five days until I am out of here.
My problem? Everything inside of me tells me that those intriguing men are mine… and they seem to think the same.
This is a slow/medium burn fantasy RH that features a naive but strong MFC with a troubled past and a secret about what she really is. Come meet Maya and her protective and possessive dragon shifters! This book will be part of the Reborn series.
Warnings: Please be advised that the book contains darker themes such as child abuse, PTSD, swearing, and violence. Additionally, sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences +18. This book will end on a slight cliffhanger.

Maya has been basically tortured her whole life, and is suddenly told her father is dead and her mom is moving her across the county with her creepy boyfriend. She meets a group of guys that are intense and protective, and slightly baffled by Maya, Maya has a core of steel, but is sweet and innocent about the world. I can’t wait to find out what happens next with Maya and her mates!
What a great new series! Maya sure has a tough road ahead. Can’t wait to see how M. Wries this all out! M. Sinclair is one of my favorites! She writes the best possessive Alphaholes ever!! I love it.
I like Maya! She is innocent yet she has such strength that she draws from way down inside her as she is finally allowed the freedom to express herself. I really enjoy the dynamic between her and her dragons too. They are so protective of her and in tune with her feelings. I am looking forward to reading more as the story progresses.
Maya’s story has absolutely captivated me from the start and I was sooo glad to get back into it! Realm of Flames did not disappoint. I got everything I wanted out of this particular installment and knowing that there is more to come. There are answers on who and what Maya specifically is, her health and so much growth between her and her men. I LOVE the tension that’s always there between them, it’s perfection. Meeting the new characters and going into the Dreki realm was everything I could have hoped for. I can’t wait for the next book!!
I loved this book! Maya is sweet and innocent but no one messes with her mates!
One of my all time favorite books by this author
Maya has spent her life locked up in her family’s church basement but now that’s she’s out in the real world she’s determined to live her life in comes her guys buy this book you will love it
I love this series and anything that M writes!! Wow..lots of information about the Phoenix and hoping maybe her background. We also got info on her guys background and their dragons..need more of them and of course Croys wolf. Not going to forget Jordan, soon to be hopefully a spinoff and I loved that Lorcan got a cameo in this book!! 5 stars I cannot wait for the next book that is going to be epic!!
Loved this book!! Maya really grows in this book and becomes more confident in herself and with the guys. I love how the guys are with her, protective, sweet and patient! It’s written so well and like always Sinclair did a fantastic job with this story!!
In love with this series since the first chapter in the first book and Book 2 did not dissapoint either, it just gets better! I couldn’t get enough of Maya and her mates and the relationship that builds while her past tries to catch up with her and the future being a huge unknown for all of them!!! Cannot wait to jump back into this story with book 3 and the love and adventure it will bring!
**Warning: there is abuse emotional, verbal and physical.**
Wholly Hotness, this book had me edge, heart pumping and fidgety. You meet Maya who lets just say that she has not had a good upbringing. She has been through a lot. Her mother decides to move with Maya to Washington. Then she meets Marco. He recognizes her immediately. Unfortunately she disappears and he is no clue how to find her. Then she starts school and meets Anani, Ledger and Henry. Whoa that is like hot guy over load. She did not have a good first day and goes home with the guys only to meet Sai and Atlas. Which once they meet they reveal that Marco is around. So the guys are trying to find out information about her but she is reluctant to tell them. These revelations did not make the guys happy. They are trying to find out what she is and she is introduced her to the supe community. Only to have some more bad things happen to her. She also meets Croy, wolf and then all hell breaks loose. We find out what she is and when you think the past is buried, it comes back like literally.
The heat level is a medium burn and oh man was it good. I cannot wait for the next book!
This is a decent RH read, but it does read very Ghostbird with dragons instead of a shadow organization using abused kids as vigilantes and sterling them so they dont get knocked up and ruin the organization’s plans (ok I slipped a little into Scarab Beetle there, but there is just something disturbing about that group).
The author takes on a difficult character type, a main character that has been locked away for 18 years, and does an ok job with it, but not great. Fated mates means things move pretty fast despite some pretty horrible abuse. There is a background world we know nothing about, which is odd because we get snippets of it when the guys are telling their story, but the FMC is in the dark so it is excusable.
The FMC accepts everything, immediately, including when her entire world view changes. She has zero hesitation. That was really kind of annoying. Her self loathing and protecting the guys from her doesnt really make sense compared to her bubbly personality. It also doesn’t make any sense that the guys would have let her go back to a house they knew she was being beaten in.
There were also like three points of climax in this book that as I read them I was like ok and the story is over, bit there was more and not in a good way. I think this story could have been a lot stronger if book 1 had built up to the guys discovering she was being abused as they got to know her and then ended. Book 2 was the scene at the house and then where that lead and had her getting to know the guys better and the obligatory shopping trip. Book 3 was recovering from book 2 and learning more about the guys and this new world and ended with the cliffhanger of that person’s arrival which was explained in the opening of book 4. So yes this bookq
There are some inconsistencies, like the bubbly personality despite the years of torture, the picture in the basement, that she was educated at all (there would be zero reason to teach her to read or give her books or anything it only created a possibility that she could survive on her own). She is supposed to not be fed like at all and described at first as skin and bones but then has all these curves. Also, 5’4″ is not that small.
There are a lot of inconsistencies with the fact she has been locked away but her mom gave her the birds and bees talk even though she was never exposed to any other people and she has learned a LOT from Cosmo in less than a week. And let’s be honest, if all of her real world learning had come from Cosmo like is was written that it did she would know all about back door horror stories 96 ways to lick your man’s banana to drive him wild, this season’s must have color, embarrassing tampon stories, and probably an in depth interview with Henry Cavill holding puppies as he talks about what it was like making the Witcher, and what he looks for in a girl! (I actually wouldn’t be opposed to a picture of Henry Cavill holding puppies. Henry Cavill please don’t take offense at my Cosmo dig and forgo any puppy pictures).
Oh, and the author seems to have this odd obsession with putting the FMC iin bows as a sexy thing. It just made me think little girl and had me cringing.
I enjoyed it though and will pick up book 2 tp see where the story goes.
Oh, and totally unrelated the Witcher is really good, I had just finished it when I started this, and everyone is still talking about it, which is how Henry Cavill got roped into a random book review.
In conclusion, watch the Witcher, Henry Cavill should take pictures with puppies, Cosmo is not a good way to get a sense of what the world is like outside of a basement, bows are a no, and read this book
