Baldacci is a consummate story teller. His descriptions of fight scenes are a little far fetched sometimes but then this, and his other books are novels. This story starts with the death of CWO Puller’s Aunt after she sent a letter to his father. He is an Army CID man. His relationship with the local authorities has some ups and downs, then levels …
Once again David Baldacci has you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see how John Puller will pull it off and survive the latest escapade. Puller constantly finds himself in the middle of a mystery which ends up in a dangerous situation.
The author does a great job of developing the characters and setting up the intrigue. There is the …
I am not a fan of too much violence nor of sexual content and often considered not finishing the book. However, the mystery portion was intriguing.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Mr Baldacci does it again. This one takes us to Florida and really makes John Puller work to find the answer. Full of real world evils much of society doesn’t see or recognize. Puller fights them all in this one.
Far-fetched, however; so well written as to be absolutely entertaining.
Baldacci is Baldacci. You can’t go wrong. Love the characters to whom it is easy to become attached.
Almost felt like left over ideas from his other books.
I have throughly enjoyed the whole John Puller series.
It’s John Puller what else needs to be said?
I’ll read just about anything by Baldacci. Good read.
Excellent story, well written, page Turner, exciting finale.
This is the one that got me hooked, !
Love David Baldacci’s works. Puller is a great character and this is a great book. [I still miss the Camel Club characters.]
Love the Amos Decker books. This one especially because we get to see some emotions and real connections with other characters. Great book!
John Puller, US Army CID, takes an extended leave to investigate the accidental death of his aunt in Paradise, Florida. However, the more he digs, the more Paradise isn’t living up to it’s name. This is a town full of deceit and dark secrets.
Honestly I expected more from this book. It started out pretty good and I enjoyed it’s little twists, but …
This was a much better than Zero Day, the first book in the series. But other than a brief mention in Ch. 2, John Puller, the main character, doesn’t appear until Ch. 5. And that is not good.
Puller heads to Florida to ask his aunt to explain the rather cryptic letter she sent to his father only to learn when he arrives that she has died, her …
