How could this man fool the people around him? At first glance, mail-order bride Merrilee Rollins knew her deranged groom was normal. Actually, incredible seemed more apt. With his black wavy hair and blue eyes stirring something deep within her, she ignored mystery surrounding him and went ahead with their Christmas wedding. Why did the strange accidents begin happening?Soon after his bride’s … happening?
Soon after his bride’s arrival, Carl Sittig’s problems started. Merrilee’s presence made it difficult to maintain his facade of lunacy. After touching her once, he longed to be her husband in truth. Having witnessed a murder, if he wanted to stay alive he would have to pretend to be crazy.
With a ring of white slavers still operating in Idyll Wood, Wisconsin and a new threat from Merrilee’s past bringing danger to the couple, does this marriage have any chance?
This sequel to A Farmer for Christmas can be read as a stand alone romance.

This was a great book. I highly recommend this book and series. I cannot wait for the next by this author.
I really enjoyed this story. It’s a really good story and there is adventure and trouble and terrible people along with really wonderful ones. This is mostly a story about one family whose brother was beaten and needs someone to care for him. They get him a mail order bride to take care of him and help the other’s brother wife with chores and all the children.
It is a really wonderful story and the first in this series I have read and now I need to go back to the beginning. I highly recommend this story and I am sure this series.
I received this as an ARC. I am doing a review because I want to since I really enjoyed this story.
Marisa Masterson has done it again and brought us a story that is definitely a page turner. This is Merrilee and Carl’s story and the character development is outstanding. Grab onto your chair and be prepared for lots of action including drama, suspense, betrayal, secrets, attempted murder, mystery, some humor, and romance. Make yourself comfortable and get prepared to keep reading until you have read the entire story. I highly recommend this book…don’t miss it…I know you will enjoy it.
Carl Sittig is hiding. Not literally but behind a facade of a damaged man. Brutally beaten almost to death, at first he didn’t remember much. But his
body healed and so did his mind. What he remembered he shared with his brother, the Sheriff and they decided his best defense until they could prove
what happened was to remain damaged and portray himself as an idiot.
Merrilee Rollins needed to escape her deranged step father. He was pressuring her into a marriage with his nephew. She overheard him discussing
the issue with her nephew who was not really wanting to completely follow his uncle’s plan which was to entrap her with a compromising position.
So the stepfather planned to rape her to prove she was not innocent. Her attorney’s sister had offered her a way out before… becoming a Mail Order
Bride… now was the time. She must escape and find her way to her home, NOW!
Giving herself in marriage to a stranger, who was known as an idiot was going to be a challenge. Was she up to it?
Marisa Masterson is at her best, combining a loving story with deception and mystery. These two young people need an HEA. You will not be able to
stop reading once you start!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Merriilee has a good reason to leave town as a mail order bride before stepfather can do something bad to her. She is desperate enough to marry a groom who is not mentally there or is he hiding something. This grabbed my attention from the start and really needed to know what happened next until I finished the story
Out of the Frying Pan?
Escaping from a wicked stepfather with designs on her inheritance, Merrilee accepts assistance from a matchmaking neighbor, who has her travelling from Charleston to a small town in Wisconsin. Several mysteries are resolved with faith, humor, and warmth.

Carl needs someone to look after him and Merrilee needs the protection of a husband. Excitement and mystery revolve around this Christmas love story. I love the fact that the matchmaker that arranged their marriage always sends the bride off with a Bible verse to help them. I was given an advanced copy of this book to leave an honest review. I couldn’t put the story down until the end.
