She fought him. He claimed her anyway.Ruari of Clan Dundalk knew Arielle was his mate as soon as he set eyes on her, but he had planned to court her properly. When she arrives in his lands as an uninvited stowaway, however, he decides it is time for this beautiful, headstrong female to be taught her place over his knee.As she is led to her new mate’s castle naked, blushing, and sore, with only a … blushing, and sore, with only a sheet to hide her helpless arousal, Arielle’s fury at being bared and spanked is exceeded only by her desperate need to be thrown to the ground and ravaged by the brute who just punished her so shamefully.
She won’t have to wait long…
Publisher’s Note: Wolflord is a stand-alone novel set in the same world as Warlord and Overlord. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Absolutely loved Arielle and Ruari’s story. The story is well written and highly entertaining with just the right amount of danger added to the mix to make a fantastic read. The mating of Arielle and Ruari is sexually explosive and graphic in writing. The discipline of she-wolves who fail to obey instructions is harsh but the sexual release afterwards makes for an entertaining read. There is a lot happening in this book especially in regards to the armies of Simon and Edwyn and their attempt to defeat Gareth, Alarick and Ruari which resulted in the death of Edwyn at the blade of Arielle. I would highly recommend this book as a great read. I am somewhat curious about the hooded warrior and how he ties into this series.
You say potato, I say po-ta-to. It is interesting how one same action can be viewed differently by two different people. Yet both are equally motivated by their own sets of reasoning and feelings.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the third book in an interconnected series, though each can be read as a stand alone. However to fully appreciate both the back story AND to avoid spoilers I would personally suggest reading Warlord first and then Overlord.
Rauri and Arielle are a passionate couple and this book has plenty of scorching hot moments. Whilst there are some dubious consent sexual acts, Rauri isn’t one to ask his mate if she’s in the mood, Arielle certainly enjoys his attentions and responds with enthusiasm. They have a fiery relationship, Arielle is not the meek, quiet girl everyone presumed her to be. Especially not since she never seems to be given a choice in her life.
The series is set in a patriarchal society, where the alpha wolf’s word is law and where females are subject to spankings/strappings if they disobey their man. Whilst I would never support this lack of autonomy in real life, I love the Dom/sub dynamic in these books and the battle of wills and wiles that ensues. The author, through character dialogue, does acknowledge that the system is unfair, that males do not seem to be held to the same account as females. However that is the core of the book, the power exchange, the domination and submission, the disciplinary spankings and the resulting re-connection and hot bedroom scenes.
Wolflord is a very enjoyable, steamy and well written story. It easily held my attention and drew me in with Rauri and Arielle’s love story. I’m looking forward to meeting the mysterious man who we briefly saw in this book, I’m wondering if his fated mate is a certain widow and mother of a young girl.
This talented author continues to amaze me with her wonderful ability to write fascinating shifter romances that firmly keeps the reader’s attention until the end. I will admit that this shifter romance is excellent, with good scene descriptions & world building. It has a strong, well-paced plot filled with suspenseful situations & unexpected events. The strong-willed characters are quite unique & one of them displays a determination to claim his mate while the another one tries to the best of her ability to avoid an inevitable future. There is good support from the secondary characters. There are some character crossovers from “Warlord & Overlord” but this book can be read as a standalone.
It is about: a female wolf shifter (Ariella) in a fit of defiance decides to stow-away on a ship bound for Eire only to be discovered & handed over to her apparently fated mate (Ruari) the alpha of Eire but there are problems on the horizon for all of them.
There is: wolf shifters, friendship, some twists, intrigue, suspense, drama, adventure, action, escape attempts, fated mates, deadly intentions, discipline, spankings, humiliation, emotional turmoil, defiance, denial, devious plans, ultimatums, attempted coercion, retaliation, anguish, threats, danger, enemies, battles, disobedience, protectiveness, disagreements, steamy scenes, contentment & a well-deserved happy conclusion. I enjoyed reading this shifter romance & would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre.
If you have been following this series so far, you will reconise Arielle, who is the sister of Rowan who is mated with Alaric. When i first got this book, i wondered what Arielle was going to be like. And honestly she didnt dissapoint me at all, in fact she was a brilliant character And as for Ruari who used to be a beta until he had to take over his brothers castle as he died. This man was no pushover and i really had to do a smile every now and then because Arielle was trying to get out of his punishments.. lol, but he proved to be every inch the Alpha he was.
Arielle had been out and about and discovered something what she thought her Alpha should know, but when she intrudes rudely into the chambers of her sister and husband, she discovers that she might of made a mistake and is punished for it. Deciding not to put up with punishment from them any more, she slips onto a boat which is departing the next morning. However she has been found and been taken to Ruari who now is Alpha . Once there she is informed that she is his mate, but that is not what she wants, despite her deep down knowing it , its really not what she is ready for, so she takes the old tradition and runs. Running soon gets her claimed.
This was such an awesome story to read, i just love Deltas books she is great, her stories are exciting and always have a good storyline, with exciting spankings with alpha males.
Definately worth 5 plus stars for this
Ruari and Arielle’s story seemed really short to me. The only thing that was different from the previous books was that Arielle developed a backbone.
I was a little disappointed with this book. There was no real buildup to Rauri and Ari developing a relationship. There was no explanation for why Bridget’s behavior changed between the time Rauri became Alpha and he marked Arielle.
Ruari didn’t take the time to explain to Arielle that Alaric had contacted him about her. I don’t know why Arielle thought she could carry out her original plan as she had an extremely limited skill set. I kind of expected at some point for her to have spent some time with her sister, Rowan.
And what was up with the “dark stranger” scenario? That took up maybe two paragraphs. What was the point? Then we have the whole situation with Edwyn, who was also in the previous books. That was completely unexpected.
As I’m writing this review, I realize the feeling that I was having is this book felt very rushed. Subplots were stated and quickly wrapped up. With this book being a standalone, I would have thought it would be more developed, more detailed. I’m not sure I would have understood all of the references had I not read the previous books.
A very quick read that took only a couple of hours to get through. I didn’t get any sense of romance. I think it could have developed with more time. I would give it 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
