My first book by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. The fast paced drama and twists of this story kept me immersed in their world until the very end. The characters are complex and the backstories are great. The locales are perfect and detailed, as it all comes together.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the love story between Sanguine and Kaira. She is a princess who has been spoiled and does whatever she wants. She has been told to not ever go into the forest. Her father warned her but she went anyway. Sanguine captures her. He is a dragon and has been hunted by her father the king. While he has Kaira captive, they grow to fall in love. They have to get thru a lot together to find their happiness. This book had great characters and storyline. I enjoyed all of the drama, suspense, brattiness, lust and love

Sanguine (dragon shifter) and Kaira (princess) meet as she sneaks out of the castle into the woods and falls asleep in front of his cave. Tension as things awry and love as emotions stir in them. Things get complicated right off the bat, as her father is killing all the dragons in the kingdom and she falling for one. They are called upon later to save the kingdom and rid the bad guys. The characters are complex and the backstories are great. The locales are perfect and detailed, as it all comes together. Truly an awesome story that you will not be able to put down. On to more books by this author.

Kaira is a spoiled princess, locked in the castle most of her life by her father, the king. She wants adventure and to explore the forest. Her father has warned her about going into the Forbidden Forest, but she ignores his warnings and sneaks away. While exploring she finds a cave and decides to take a nap, only to be captured by a dragon, Sanguine. Sanguine and Kaira are attracted to each other and as they spend more time together they fall for each other. Kaira’s father is looking for her to bring her home. What will happen next? Such a great story, read it for yourself you won’t regret it.

I have to say Sophie Stern has a way of turning the story in an unexpected way I was sure the daughter needs to give trouble to her father. But yet the villain turns to be someone else. I guess what the book portrays is true…it is hard to judge the truth based on one snapshot.

Told like a fairy tale, but a little disorganized. A spoiled princess runs into the woods to have an adventure and gets caught by a dragon shifter, who had no contact with a human in a long time. Both fall for each other quickly, lust and a touch of BDSM, daddy/naughty child play, but the story is not really told well, and all in all a little boring.

A wild princess looks for trolls and finds a dragon. Thinking she’s going to be eaten she’s a little afraid but comes to love him. A knight who has always cared for her comes to bring her back to the castle but leaves her with the dragon, he later comes and asks them to come back together.

Kaira’s father does not want her in the forest and she does not know but she lives to be in it. There was things in the forest that Kaira did not know was there like wolfs, bears, and trolls and other things. Her father was a King and he just wanted to keep her safe. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author. Thank You for writing the books so we can read them.
I have a hard time with bratty characters. This story definitely starts off with the brattiest of them all – including for stomps, yelling, pouts, and full-out tantrums (princess level). Honestly, I almost stopped reading. I’m glad I didn’t though. Though she may be naive and a little self-righteous (arrogant), she is mostly sheltered. When her unwise and impulsive decision gets her captured by a dragon, she quickly realizes her stupidity. But more importantly in her captivity, she is confronted with her own prejudices and how they reflect on how she sees others and the world. So I ended up liking this book for how much our process grow and matures. It helps that there are is some loving going on (for sure ). Overall it’s a good message of not judging before you know.

I think this is the first time I have ever wished bad things to happen to a main character, Kaira. I know the warning in the blurb advised that she was spoiled and a brat, but she was awful in the beginning. I was pleased when Sanguine captured her and kinda felt sorry for him. However, the way he went about getting to know her and letting her see another side of him was great. I liked Edward. He had a good realistic head on his shoulders. I was very surprised at Kaira’s condition of his release. It was a brilliant idea. I loved how it went after that all the way to the end. If you can stand Kaira’s childishness, this is a great book. I may even reread it to get a better feel for her. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Sanguine doesn’t treat Kaira as a princess. He treats her like a woman. Like his mate and queen. Kaira is a spoiled princess who has been basically locked in the castle her entire life. She wants adventure but is not allowed to leave the castle grounds. She wants to go into the woods to explore and hopefully catch a troll. When her father, the king, denies her she escapes. But she never finds a troll. Instead she finds a dragon shifter. The last of his kind, because her father killed them all years ago. While being imprisoned by Sanguine, she falls in love with him, and he with her. But her father is hunting him and looking to bring her home. And her father knows where Sanguine’s cave might be. What can they do? I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
