I really enjoyed this book and read it in two days. It was a very clever plot which I found fun and interesting and didn’t go in the direction you excepted to when you first start reading. I did have suspicions as to who the killer was but wasn’t certain until the end. I liked the characters and the fact that Deena questioned people and went back to them again and again until she got the truth, she didn’t just know like in some books. All in in a good book that I would be happy to add to my audible collection so I could listen to it again
Deena is called to report on a case as it happens, somebody is trying to steal a dead body from a funeral home. When she arrives it is to find her elderly neighbour mumbling about not being dead. It seem that the very news paper she works for has run an obituary claiming him dead. with a little digging Denna has a front page article about how the police misidentified a John Doe as her neighbour. Who is the dead man and why did he have her neighbours bank statements and id on him? Here neighbour seem just as confused as everybody else. But it is only when things turn deadly that Denna really gets involved and not just to write an article for the paper. She liked her neighbour and wants to get to the bottom of what is going on at her very own bank.
Sharpe Wit (Second Act Snoop Mysteries Book Eight) was another great read by Lisa B. Thomas. Deena Sharpe was told by her editor that someone is trying to steal a body from the Maycroft funeral home. The editor tasked Deena with investigating the crime. The cops have some explaining to do when it turns out the body isn’t who they thought it was. This story had lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing. I enjoyed reading Deena’s investigation and can’t wait to read more by Lisa B. Thomas.
This is the first book in this series that I’ve read and I had no problem getting right into the story. This is book 8 in the series, so that says a lot about how great this book is written. I plan on going back to read the rest as soon as I can. The characters are so real and the mystery was really fun to try and solve.
