I can’t really complain about my life; I have a job I love and a best friend that fills the void of my nonexistent family, but sometimes I’m lonelier than I like to admit. Especially with the holiday season approaching, I can’t help but wish I had someone special to share it with. My friend gives me a snow globe with a man and a snowy owl inside, and for some bizarre reason, this man starts … starts showing up every night when I close my eyes. It’s… not real, but I can’t seem to get the guy out of my head. It probably shouldn’t surprise me that my brain conjures up the perfect man in my dreams… well, almost perfect if he’d stop claiming to be a warlock. But the crazy thing is that all of it—that he—feels so real.
When I start falling for the man, the warlock, I can’t help but wish that what we have in my dreams could be a reality. I know it can’t, but at least when I’m asleep, I can be with him—with Alaric.
Although this book is part of A Snow Globe Christmas series, it is a complete stand alone and it isn’t a requirement that you read the previous books to follow along. We wish everyone a happy holiday season.

Alaric – a wrongly imprisoned warlock. Grady – a lonely young man in search of love. Their paths collide when Grady’s best friend gifts him a snow globe. The snow globe that happens to be Alaric’s prison. But even a magical snow globe is no match for true love and soon Alaric and Grady find themselves fighting against evil to protect each other.
The story is very sweet and there’s a lot of tenderness between the main characters. The plot moves fast, and it feels like the author intends on writing a sequel because there’s a lot of loose ends that still need to be tied up.
Sweet, captured in a curse Alaric fell in love with Grady just by watching him. While Grady took a little longer to figure out his love for Alaric they had a happily ever after. I would love to see a story with Raphel, Isiah and Laz and to hear what happened with Raphel’s daughter.
I really liked this story especially for the holidays. This was a sweet romance with a warlock trapped in a snow globe. This book included witches, warlocks, familiars and a variety of paranormal characters that kept my interest. I hope there’s more stories including Grady and Alaric along with the supporting characters because I feel there’s more stories that could be told. Great Christmas love story for the holiday season.
I adored this book and the characters!
Alaric: After a brief (so glad it is brief) introduction to his father it makes me adore Alaric that much more. He has put up with so much for so many years trapped with no human companionship. Now he isn’t truly alone no one writes animal companions like Michele Notaro!! Even through all he has seen he remains a person with a kind pure soul.
Grady:
Oh if there has ever been anyone who deserves the kindness that radiates off of Alaric it is Grady. They share some many of the great aspects of their personalities. If I had to name just one it would be he is selfless.
In the “nice guys finish last” mindset this book is such a refreshing change because nice guys don’t finish last…they finish together!!
A very sweet MM romance with a fairytale/supernatural undertone & I really enjoyed reading it. I particular liked the direction the author took to make the characters more appealing to the reader & I found the characters well-developed, delightful endearing & interesting with their interactions & chemistry between them. There is good support from the secondary characters. The plot is well-paced & entertaining with a very unique approach by bringing the past to the present.
There is: a young male warlock (Alaric) & his white owl (Tiberius aka Tib) is imprisoned with in a snowball because of his despicable father (Vakore) & this snowball is gifted to a young male manager (Grady) then he starts having strange dreams, Grady’s caring friend (Lazarus), witches, warlocks, familiars, curses, A conclave, drama, some twists, humor, suspense, action, adventure, deceit, betrayal, magic, intrigue, memories, vengeful feelings, malicious intentions, imprisoned, confrontations, some violence, unexpected jealousy, dream walking, confusion, disbelief, longings, attractions, helpfulness, a grimiore, a wish, soul-pledged, unexpected surprises, explanations, distrust, reassurance, abduction, defiance, fear, magical conflict, contentment, love, mild steam, happiness & a well-deserved satisfying epilogue.
I loved this sweet fairy tale holiday story. You have witches and warlocks and true love. What more could you want! Alaric and Grady’s love story is beautiful, tender and so enjoyable to read. THe connection between them is so loving, pure and deep. Each has suffered in the past yet still keep their sweet, gentle nature. They are just perfect together.
To me, felt so much like a fairytale:you have the evil witch who casts a spell on an innocent,a fable like romance and a battle against malevolent forces.
Yes,so much like a fairytale, but with Michele Notaro’s brilliant touch. And let me tell you, she made it so that everything about the book is exciting and magical. Starting with the original idea of the snow globe as a prison and making it possible for Alaric and Grady to be together in their dreams, until they could meet in real life. And then, when they finally do meet, they find themselves in the middle of a dangerous witch hunt that may tear them apart again.
Alaric and Grady are charming. The most gentle and kindest of souls and never have to men deserved happiness and love as they do. But all the other characters are also well written and intriguing. All of them engaged in a fast flowing, irresistible and fantastic story, that has kept me glued to its pages.
I have one question: do Laz,Raphie and Izzy get their own story? Because that would be awesome.
Once you go warlock…
This book is a dream come true. I’ve always imagined what happens with objects when no one is looking and now we get to experience it with Alaric and Grady. Poor, poor Alaric, what a terrible curse to be forced to watch life but never able to interact. Grady needs a hug and a change in taste; what a horrible jerk his ex is. He and Ric both deserve the world, but Alaric’s father is a selfish coward.
Alaric’s past intertwines with his present and there are far-reaching ramifications for the original curse that trapped him. This makes many changes and adjustments that are needed by everyone involved. “You’ve given me more than I ever dared to wish for.” So much heartbreak in Alaric’s life and my heart bleeds for his pain. He and Grady are both so lonely in their own ways. Together they give each other hope, home and so much more.
Grady and Alaric are so cute and sweet together. Plus, they make me laugh (polka-dotted elephants and festive pjs). I really like when they become protective. It gives me all the happy feels. I’d just like to share that Grady is very clever in his explanations and a quick thinker. Wow, warlocks take intimacy to a whole new level. I second Grady’s reasoning as it pertains to spit. It’s also fairly comforting to know that magical meetings are just as painful as mundane ones. By the way, I adore Tib. He’s really special.
I enjoy magical battles and this one was fierce, impressive, and chilling. Alaric is very brave and I admire his fortitude. So many intriguing surprises and twists are in store when you read this book and it makes me very, very curious to see what’s next for this world. A charming and heartwarming story that will make you believe in holiday magic.
