Good read. I like Nameless.
Rating:
Genre: Thriller
Red Rain is the fourth installment of the Nameless series. The series, in general, is about a vigilante who has amnesia and cannot remember his past or even his name. He is recruited by a mysterious company to hunt criminals and serial killers. In each book, Nameless has to face a new criminal.
Red Rain is about justice deliverance. Regina Belmont is the mother of two children. Her house has been set on fire. She is now disfigured and abandoned by her husband. The officials of the town are corrupt and they silenced her by constant bullying. Nameless will handle her case and deliver justice to the woman. Like the previous stories in the series, this one was quite entertaining too. The interesting thing here is the short vague flashbacks that Nameless was getting about his own past. So far all the books that I have read in this series were consistently good.
The 1st 6 books was easy to read and helped me get to my reading goals faster then I imagined.
This was my least favorite in the series so far only because I thought fire would be a more fitting death to an arsonist. But another bad person or people Nameless eliminated from being able to hurt others. I wish we knew more about Nameless.
This book kept me wondering.
Another great one in the series.
Nameless is another one of those unique Dean Koontz characters. Koontz has a way of making you feel connected to his characters on a deep level. I want to know more about Nameless, and this series is a bit limiting in that respect. This is still a good read, but, as with the last one, the ending was a bit disappointing.

“Nameless” short stories are best read in order.
Nameless, who really does not know his own name or past, is again sent out to punish those who have set themselves above the law. This time it is a group of well-organized arsonists-for-profit. Their point of view is that fire solves business problems. Any unintended collateral damage is just sort of unfortunate.
Backed by whoever his employers are, Nameless follows instructions to give some peace to an innocent victim and much-deserved consequences to those who have used their money, position, and power to skirt the law.
Highly recommended.
( I’m copying and pasting this same review for all 6 of the series of Nameless) I have been a fan of Mr. Koontz FOREVER!!! He is a master story-teller and one that can hold your attention whether it’s for a ‘short story’ or a full length novel. This first short story in the series of Nameless: In the Heart of Fire was indeed up to par with the usual Koontz suspense and intrigue.
I’m glad I was able to have the next 5 (Photographing the Dead; The Praying Mantis Bride; Red Rain; The Mercy of Snakes ; and Memories of Tomorrow (my favorite) waiting in line to continue the saga of Nameless and his ‘justice’ he served in each one. I can see Nameless becoming a full length novel or if he wanted to keep them short stories, to continue into the next 6 books. 🙂 All in all, they are something that is easy to read, quick to read, and a joy to read.
