SOME STORIES CANNOT BE TOLD IN JUST ONE LIFETIME. Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his eleventh life, a little girl appears at his …
Until now.
As Harry nears the end of his eleventh life, a little girl appears at his bedside. “I nearly missed you, Doctor August,” she says. “I need to send a message.”
This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. 12-06-2019
I understand how this book would not be for everyone. It’s a story of resurrection. Each time Harry August dies he awakens in the same year as his first life and starts over again. At about age six he reacquires all the knowledge from his previous life. The others of his kind seek each other out. …
I *LOVED* this book…it’s one of those you can’t put down and never want to end! I want to know what happens in Harry’s next 15, or 20, or 30 lives!
This book has one of the most unusual approaches to time travel that I have read over 50 years of enjoying science fiction. The literary style is also different for the genre but the voice of the main character, the plot and the twists and turns keep one reading to the end.
Utterly compelling. And – small spoiler/warning – much darker than I anticipated. Maybe don’t read right before going to sleep. But DO read it!!
This is one of the best time-travel novels I’ve ever read. I am in awe of the author’s ability to create a wonderfully engaging and suspenseful narrative that propels the story forward, while effectively repeating the same life over and over again. The characters are complex and multi-dimensional and the book is a page-turner!
So when I first started this story I wasn’t sure what to make of it. The premise was interesting enough. But then I grew relatively bored and put it aside. After running out of more “interesting” things to read/listen to, I finally picked it up again and boy was it a great decision! An incredibly unique take on the whole concept of time travel. If …
I thought this book was okay. It wasn’t one of my favorites, and while there were parts of the book that were hard to put down, I found the whole thing to be longer than it needed to be, and much harder to follow than I would like.
I do recommend reading this book in large chunks, and not just a chapter or two at a time as it will make it easier …
One of the best, most original books I’ve ever read.
This might be one of the most entertaining, enthralling, intellectually stimulating fiction books I’ve ever read.
This story follows Dr. Harry August, born January 1, 1919, as he recounts his life he has been destined to repeat over and over and over. And he remembers … everything.
What I love about this story is there is not one page, …
My favorite read of 2018.
I read this book in just a few days. I couldn’t put it down for long. Even now, a month or so after I’ve read it, it keeps creeping back into my thoughts. Very intriguing and wonderful, a little thought provoking in my imaginary world of what ifs.
great TIME TRAVEL STORY WITH MANY TWISTS.
Another lives upon lives, within the same time frame. This soul finds that as he passes he is reborn, over and over under the same circumstances. After some time he finds he is not alone and that there are others that live over and over again. In some ways his life is tragic, in others he gains much in that he is one of few of his kind that …
What a fascinating book. Enjoyed it immensely.
