Charlee Burke is stuck on a deserted country road, just as a dangerous Christmas snowstorm begins to churn above her. With the storm coming, the closest person she knows she can call is the all-too-sexy-for-his-own-good Ace McBride—the last person on earth she wants to call. When Charlee’s name pops up on his phone, Ace is pleased, but surprised. As much as he teases her, and as mad as she gets at … she gets at him, he figures she’s got to be pretty desperate. Sure enough, she’s in need of rescuing, and he’s happy to be her white knight. He’s always had a thing for Charlee, but he knows her history. He plans to show her he’s a man who can be trusted, and she can count on him. But her heart’s been shielded a long time.
Charlee’s been afraid of relationships since a man ran a con on her to get to her inheritance. He ripped apart her life, and she doesn’t believe she’ll ever be able to fully trust her instincts after that terrible experience.
With the storm coming in fast and hard, Charlee’s cabin is the closest shelter. The weather report says the blizzard will last for several days and they will be closed in together over the Christmas holiday. She’s not sure she can survive being trapped in such close quarters with Ace for that long. Alone. Ace is determined to win her heart. Charlee is determined to never go down that path again.

A Clean Romance book! Thank you Cheyenne McCray! Loved this book circumstance, stranded woman on snowy road, gets help from best friend’s brother and romance ensues! The story involved being snowed in, playing board games, snow fights, etc. The relationship built like in the real world. The two main characters were smart and thoughtful and had fun! Thanks for a great read!
Really well done. Enjoyed everything about the book
This was a sweet holiday read. I have enjoyed this series very much and I’m very sad to see it reach its conclusion. Charlee and Ace were such fun characters. I always love a friends to lovers storyline. The conflict of the story was just right for these two people. Everyone deserves their own HEA.
This was such a sweet and sexy read. I loved the chemistry between Charlee and Ace.
Lovely heart warming read!
Sold on You is a wonderful, quick read perfect for the holiday. It is a heartwarming story including a sweet friends to lovers romance, catching up with family and strengthening bonds, letting go of the past and moving forward, forgiving yourself and acceptance and lots of love. I absolutely adore the characters Cheyenne has created in this series and enjoy catching up with them in each of their stories. And I must say, though I have enjoyed each book in the series, I think this one with Ace and Charlee is my favorite.
Charlee just wants to get away and have a little time to herself. She loves seeing her friends and family happy but is tired of being the ‘fifth wheel’ at get-togethers, especially the holiday. This year she just wants to retreat to her cabin and enjoy a quiet Christmas. Unfortunately, fate, her procrastination, and the coming storm cause her to have other plans and she is forced to reach out to the only other person she knows who is not attached for help, Ace McBride, the last person on earth she wants to call. She is still reeling from a relationship nightmare and full of regret, guilt, and self-loathing and her faith and trust in men has been shattered. She has hardened her heart and does not think she will ever be able to trust a man again. Then there is Ace McBride, the one person that given the chance can change it all.
Ace has had a thing for Charlee since childhood and when her name pops up on his caller id, he jumps at the chance to help her out of a jam. He knows this will be the perfect set up to spend some quality time alone with her and hopefully let her know how he feels. He knows her history and that she is having a rough time but he is determined to show her that she can trust and depend on him. He can be everything she needs if only he can get past her guarded heart. Time will tell, but he is definitely not going to give up without a fight. It has always been Charlee for him; she is everything he has ever wanted and he is going to use the situation and the storm to his advantage and help her see how wonderful it could be.
Charlee and Ace’s story was absolutely delightful and I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. The witty, fun banter, easy conversations and flirting, card games, silly bets, snowball fights, cozy fires and confessions shared, and decorating for Christmas along with their romance. It all blended well into a smooth, comfortable storyline with characters and conversations that felt natural and believable. The conflict they had to navigate added the perfect amount of drama and the ending was sweet…a wonderful HEA. This book was a great addition to the McBride series.
A big thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book. I have read and reviewed it voluntarily and all opinions expressed are my own. I have also purchased a copy of this book for my personal collection.
There is nothing like getting a flat tire on a very lonely country road the day before Christmas Eve … and it’s snowing.
Charlee has decided not to spend Christmas with her friends and family because they all seem to have a significant other, most with children, or pregnant. The only one she can call for help is Ace McBride … at least he isn’t married or engaged.
Ace is delighted to help! With a snowstorm over their heads, he can expect to be staying at her cabin with her for at least a few days. He’s had a thing for Charlee since they were kids and this is a great opportunity to let her know how he feels and show her he can be the man she needs in her life.
But Charlee has trust issues … a relationship with a con man who tried to kill her sister to get to her inheritance 6 years ago has left her wary of all men … even Ace who she sees as a good friend.
Charlee and Ace are great characters. I really enjoyed the playfulness of their relationship … the snowball fights, card playing, decorating a Christmas tree. As was bound to happen … the intimate moments sizzled with details. But not every romance is smooth sailing…..
This is an excellent addition to the McBride series. Each in the series can be read as a stand alone.
Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this Contemporary Romance. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
This is a continuation of a series about a few Prescott, AZ. Families. This is Charlee and Ace’s story. Prior stories contain events in her sister’s life that have made Charlee terrified of relationships. Ace has convinced himself he can never be a good father the way all his older brothers are … inferiority complex. Snowbound in her luxury ‘cabin’ they can’t resist each other. And then it unravels. The author does a good job of making the reader feel and root for these 2 people. It is a sweet and nicely written Christmas story. There are a couple of sex scenes that can be skimmed past if you don’t like that stuff. Needed for the story.
The build up was great but the conclusion was empty, abrupt ending. Very disapointed.
I skipped over the steamy parts, they weren’t necessary.
A light romance–easy to read. Wish the ending were longer as they show where the romance went after the HEA.
It was okay.
Sold on you is the last book in this series and is a great book. It can be a stand-alone book but I would not suggest it. If you don’t want to read the full series I would suggest at least reading Tying You Down to get a history on Charlee.
This is a great story that shows the struggles that some people have with letting others into their lives. Charlee has been in so many of the books it was about time she get her HEA. Imagine, all it took was a snowstorm and her trying to hide from everyone over Christmas. This book is just in time for Christmas and helped get the Christmas season off to a great start.
I would highly recommend this book, especially if you have read the other Riding Tall books.
