Alandra Michaels is your everyday, run-of-the-mill, ordinary witch. She doesn’t have an affinity for an element, like her sister. She can’t speak to the dead, like her mother. Even her familiar–Beezelbub the moth–is a plain, non-threatening insect. Alandra is fine with that; she knows what she is and what she isn’t.Or so she thought . . . When a spell goes wrong and a gorgeous woman shows up in … gorgeous woman shows up in her living room claiming to be the Moon, everything changes for Alandra and her magical abilities will be put to the test.
Can she reverse the spell and send Luna back to her realm?
Celestials never go to Earth anymore. When witches figured out they could harness their energy for ultimate power, celestials closed the doors to their own realms.
When a beautiful young witch accidentally summons Luna to Earth, the clock begins ticking. Can she make it home before she’s sacrificed for her power?
Will she even want to?

My first FF – and I want more. This is such a cute and lovely FF standalone about a witch falling in love with the moon. Will their love last?
This book was beautiful. I was balling and laughing and smiling. I felt like this story is me, of how I felt and still feel. I want to feel loved like that where people accept me for me but I haven’t found that yet. But the book helped me realize that I just need to wait until one day it will happen to me. The amount of detail that’s in this book is wonderful. I love the author’s writing, it’s truly inspiring to read. I really would love to read more of the author’s work. I love this book so much!!!
I highly recommend you check this out!
Such a beautiful, emotional love story with obstacles and villains! I loved it so much and couldn’t put the book down! It just tugs at your heartstrings and it’s just amazing
No spoilers of any kind included.
Witching Moon was pretty good and that’s all I’m going to say about it.
Great story to climb into and get lost in its pages.
So it’s a yes I do recommend it.
This is my first F/F book and it was super sweet. I absolutely love Lena.
Alandra is a witch without an affinity in a family full of powerful witches. Alandra has had to face a life of people thinking she is less than. But when she’s doing the blessing for Yule she gets more than a blessing. Luna the moon appears, now they have to figure out how to get her home. Earth is not safe while dark witches hunt celestial.
This review is for those who aren’t into FF books. I’ve never been a fan of FF books, but I am a fan of Poppy’s and this book was totally worth going out of my comfort zone for. Alandra has such a crappy life except for her sister Laney, but even Laney doesn’t get how bad things are for her. Enter Luna. I really, really liked Luna. She’s unexpectedly pulled out of her world yet manges to take it in stride. She has the perfect mix of worldly experience, child-like wonder and serious bad-ass power with being the moon. I love how she stood up to the jerks in Alandra’s world. I love how Alandra made mistakes but kept trying and never gave up, despite how much she wanted too. She was a very real, relatable character.
Character development and world building was up to Poppy’s stellar standards. The concept of living celestials is very well developed and unique here, it’s not a regurgitation of anyone else’s version. It’s well written and well edited also.
This book hasn’t changed my feelings toward FF books. The steamy scenes made me uncomfortable enough I contemplated giving this a 3 or 4 star rating. But, as stated above, they were very well written, and to take off stars for something I wasn’t a fan of, and knowingly went into, would have been unfair to the author. It wasn’t a deal-breaker and it was such a good story overall that I know I’ll read it again.
If you’re like me and prefer your FF to have an M or 3, don’t let the lack of M’s stop you. You’ll be missing out on a great story of love, overcoming serious negativity, redemption and ultimately an HEA that brought happy tears to my eyes.
This book brought me to my knees. All my emotions came out on Alandras behalf. It’s an amazing story. I fell in love with the characters. I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what happens on the next page! Definitely a highly recommended read!
My first FF book and not only did it change my POV it was a beautiful well written story that had me crying and cheering for them. Truly mindblowing and unique. Loved every page!
This story will send you to the moon, really. This story is beautifully written, fast paced, page turner, action, adventure, and a love we can only dream about. In this story you will meet Alandra and Luna. Theirs is a story you must read. Poppy Woods has created a world and a love we can only find in these pages. Their story will make you laugh and cry. But it is so worth the journey. Read relax enjoy and repeat.
Sweet love story full of emotion. The storyline flows smoothly and the characters are well done.
I loved, absolutely loved, this book!! I’m really not sure where to start with this review, I don’t want to give any little detail away. Alandra is an ordinary run of the mill witch, or that’s what she thinks. Then along comes Luna, a Celestial, and things take a major turn. I was completely enthralled with this story, it’s filled with magic, suspense, and edge of your seat adventure. This book was so refreshing and different than anything I’ve ever read! A definite must read I highly recommend it!!
****WARNING**WARNING**WARNING
If you purchase this book be prepared to have tissues nearby, you will ugly cry like bad. Do not wear make up when reading!! Now with that little tidbit out of the way, this book is freaking amazing. This is typically not a book that i would read but I love Poppy Woods writing style, so naturally I want to read anything she writes. I am so glad I did. Now you meet Alandra who is not a strong witch and was asked to bless the house for Yule. Only to have Luna show up in her house. Alandra has had a rough upbringing in a way so she has some self esteem issues. But the good thing is that she does not whine about that which I loved. She just moves along with her life. However, she realizes that Luna is a Celestial. Well there seems to be some chemistry with Alandra and Luna. Hmm what will happen with these two. Then something happens and it gets crazy. When this happened, I was like well I pegged the wrong person. Dang it. The end just about broke me, and the ugly crying began. Poppy Woods, You are amazing but give a lady a warning about the waterworks.
Overall, this is a must read and so well written, you do not want to miss out. This is an advanced readers copy.
“Stupefaciunt!”
Sweet and funny and a perfect place to lose myself for a few hours. And I love the cover art.
Recommended.
Couldn’t put it down! There aren’t enough paranormal lgbt+ books out there, but even if there were this would top my list. I literally read it in 1 day because I just couldn’t stop reading it. I laghed, I cried, I yelled at the characters. I need more lol. Poppy did an amazing job with this one.
This is an emotional, sweet and beautiful love story with obstacles and villains, and I loved it to pieces. One of my favourite authors in the world comes once again with a completely different and unique story unlike anything she wrote before. Need I emphasise how much more I love her for it? Yes, I adore her from here to infinity.
And apart from being sweet and beautiful, it is also full of hope and forgiveness and new beginnings and all sorts of wonderful. This story is like a modern fairytale about two female protagonists Alandra and Luna, where both are strong, and both do the saving and neither one accepts being a damsel in distress. And their romance could not be more beautiful. For real. Super sweet.
Alandra is quite amazing, as she lives her life how she sees fit, not trying to conform to whatever unrealistic expectations other have of her. She is strong, determined, loving and wonderful. I will not say anything about Luna, because she is so special, you need to find out for yourself. Alandra’s sister Laney plays a big role and there is a hint that she might be getting her own book, which would be awesome, because she is a very interesting character.
The author also addresses the issue of not belonging and how it feels when one is all alone not having any support, not even from the closest loved ones. And I was very happy how that situation got resolved in the end, because Alandra might be forgiving but she is certainly not a doormat to be walked on.
There were some really intense moments in the book because there are some bad bad people here, who do not care about hurting others. There were also other kind of intense moments, and there were moments that made me cry. This book is just so beautiful overall and I loved it so much, and I love this author so much I can’t wait to see what comes next. Thank you Poppy Woods for this beautiful book.
I could not put it down! Poppy had all my emotions showing up from laughter to anger. I definitely recommend this book.
