Am I destined to be alone for the rest of my life or do I risk it all for a night of passion?

Assumptions & Miscommunication Aren’t Your Friends
I’m between 3.5 & 4 stars for this one. The lower rating because there were too many times when biffing Kim or Wes was just way too appealing. For “best friends” they were each clueless about what was going on in the other’s life. Sure, they developed a rapport and became mostly comfortable around one another but there were some big misses.
When they weren’t driving me crazy with their miscommunication, misunderstandings, and assumptions, they were corny and, toward the end, seriously steamy.
Kim has some terrific friends and Wes has a fabulous family plus Quentin that look out for them and do what they can to be supportive. They also add some humor to the mix.
Never mix business with pleasure……………well maybe this once
Wes’s Redemption is a different book from the normal Alexia Chase books. It is a full length story so the story is slower building but once it gets really going it still has the normal super sexy and sizzling chemistry between the characters. The story of Wes and Kim is nicely developed with both characters being interesting and having depth. She is a very strong and smart woman who has a crush on her boss, Wes. Kim has worked for several years as Wes’s Executive Assistant so she has seen the good and bad in him. Wes also has a secret crush on Kim but he believes in never mixing business with pleasure. Plus he thinks she is already involved with her best friend, or at least that is the excuse he uses to keep away from her romantically.
Even though I am very used to devouring Alexia’s shorter stories I did find that I enjoyed this longer length story. There was a lot that kept my attention and it gave Alexia more time to develop the characters and add depth which was great.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This was an enjoyable story to read. Alexia Chase really knows how to write stories that drawl you in with such believable characters. This story is from both point of views.
Kim is a very organized woman and has proven it by doing her job so well that the company she works on has been able to grow exponentially since she became the owner’s personal assistant. She is very professional and works even more hours than he does. She has had a secret crush on him since she started working for him, but she is a klutz when she gets involved with guys, so she stays away from any involvement. She just hangs with her two girlfriends. She has seen her boss go through all his girlfriends and is usually the one who picks out their parting gift from him.
Wes has a drive to become successful, and how do you measure when you are a success? He wasn’t the kind of guy who was born into wealth and always felt that his father’s death was his fault. Now, years later, his business that he built from the ground up is successful, and he knows it is because of the organization skills and competency of his personal assistant, Kim. She has also become his best friend. He has been craving her since before he got her to work for him, but two things are keeping them apart. First is that Kim has a boyfriend, Jordan. Second, he is afraid that if he tries anything with her, he will lose her at work and that would destroy him. When he finds out that Jordan isn’t her boyfriend but one of her girlfriends, he takes a chance.

Wes’s Redemption is the second book in the Fall’s Embrace Triology by Alexia Chase and focuses on the friends to lovers romance between Kim Wilson, personal assistant to Wes, and Weston Cain, CEO of his company who believes in not dating his employees. Kim and Wes have been secretly attracted to one one another, but Wes mistakenly believes Kim has a boyfriend and Kim is afraid of losing her job if she has a relationship with Wes. Their attraction comes to a head when Wes takes Kim to the family ranch and sleeps with her. Kim quits her job when she finds out Wes told his brother their night together should never have happened. I recommend reading this novel which has a slow build to passion, humorous self talk, miscommunications, and steamy chemistry.

This is book two in the Fall’s Embrace Trilogy. Wes and Kim have a professional relationship of employer/employee, they have a friendly relationship but can they become lovers without it all blowing apart? Kim does not like relationships and their intimacy, so one night stands it is. But a one night stand with Wes could cost her alot more than she is willing to pay. Wes fears loss as he has experienced it in his life and he cannot lose Kim. This story unfolds as both characters figure out how to take a chance and face their fears that may be holding them back from finding their own happiness that is literally right in front of them. Will taking a chance end in HEA or will it explode and confirm what Kim and Wes feared? Enjoy!

This is a little different than your normal Alexia Chase stories. If you are used to her short, filthy, insta-love stories, this is not it. It has plenty of dirty-talking characters though so will still need a cold glass of water and a fan. This is a full-length, slow-burn story that gets you in the feels. I felt for Kim but I also felt for Wes, as crazy as that is. Wes and Kim are everything they each needed without realizing it.
