She’s there for everyone. But who’s there for her?
Malia is the glue that holds her dysfunctional family together. Her two brothers need constant attention, the family business drains her, and her narcissistic parents are on the verge of divorce. All that leaves her little time for herself. But when her brother nearly dies in her arms, she’s terrified she isn’t enough to save him.
Then Lincoln … save him.
Then Lincoln walks into her life at that crucial moment.
Linc’s got real pain in his past, pain that’s made him harden his heart. Even so, he can’t walk away from Malia—not the night he meets her, and not afterward. She might just be the thing that helps him risk love again.
But Malia has secrets that make her try to push him away, secrets some people would do anything to protect. When Linc forces them to light, he puts her in jeopardy, making him once again face the fear of losing someone he loves. And this time, he doesn’t think he can survive it.
This is part of the Wildflower Romance series by USA Today bestselling author Stacy Claflin. Each book stands on its own.

This is a fantastic series and this 3rd book is another excellent read! I have read this, this afternoon in just a couple of hours as I could not put this down. I absolutely loved Lincoln and Malia and their story and omg what a rollercoaster ride it was!
Great reading. A heartwarming story about friendship, love, family and what it’s worth. CAn Lincon make Malia realise she deserves to be loved and she is worth fighting for?
Once you climb onto the saddle, this “thoroughbred” of a book gallops off…so hold on! I have enjoyed Stacy Claflin’s other series and don’t know how I missed this one. Book 3 is a page-turner and a compelling read! Both Malia and Linc (perfectly lyrical names, btw) are the walking wounded just underneath the polished (imposter) surface they present to the outside world. Each one has poisonous secrets and as you begin to understand them, their behaviors and coping mechanisms begin to make sense…even if these can be destructive and painful. Both come together as a reluctant hero and a protective heroine. Unfortunately, difficult pasts can cast dark shadows into the present. Danger abounds but resilience prevails. A worthwhile read! I’m onto the other books in the series! Thank you, Stacy Claflin!
A well written story that deals with drug abuse, physical and emotional abuse. On the bright side it has bringing the right person in your life when you need it. It has all the feels that will draw you in. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I was honored to receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review…and honestly? I couldnt out it down! I loved every minute of it! The characters are real, you forget you are reading a story. The book so easy to follow and get lost in it seems like a movie. One you can laugh with, and cry with. And yes, I laughed, I cried and I let out big sighs of relief! This series is amazing, and each book is just as intense as the book before it. It may be a YA book, but that doesnt mean it isnt just as enjoyable for adults of any age. I loved it and highly recommend it to everyone!Stacy Claflin
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Another very emotional book in the series but mit as devastating as the first one. Malia and Lincoln meet literally by accident that neither of them thought, would change both their lifes forever. Both characters have a painful past and might just be able to heal each other over time. You get to re-meet some people from the previous books that bring back many memories. A very amazing story I very mich enjoyed reading.
Malia has been dealing with family drama her so long. She is at work when her brother collapses, she loses it. He keeps doing the same thing over and over.
Linc is walking past the restrauant when he hears screaming from coming inside. He decides he can’t ignore it. He goes to see if he can help. He sees a young woman in tears and unconscious male on the floor. He helps her with him, he stays with her for awhile. He really enjoys being with her.
They see each other in class, can’t believe they never seen each other before. They pick each other for the class project.
They both get closer to each other , enjoying each others company. Things will not be easy with everything to goes on with Malia and her family. When things become dangerous, it is up to Linc to help her.
This was nice story of two young people that both have had terrible things happen to them. Both learning to trust and everything else that comes with it.
I received an ARC copy of this book, this is my honest review.
Lost Malia: living in a house of horror!
This story is very much geared to a teen readership. The romance is totally PG and the characters are caught up in their college life of study, eat, sleep and partying. All except Malia who has some major problems with her messed up family. Fellow student Lincoln steps in at a critical moment and provides that needed extra boost to her ego and self image. The ending was fast-paced and exciting, though the denouement was a bit too neatly and happily resolved in my view.
I am a big fan of Stacy Claflin’s writing and the earlier two books in this Wildflower series, especially The Only Things You Can Take, blew me away with the strength of their young heroines and their heart-breaking situations. This story is set in that same community and Lincoln’s background, briefly alluded to throughout this book, is directly tied to both earlier works. If you want to know more about the tragedy he tried to steer his thoughts away from, you will find the whole, sad tale in The Only Things You Can Take. Although I found When You Start to Miss Me a good, quick and easy read, I don’t think it will haunt me like the first two still do. I don’t feel the main characters were as fully developed.
