Will Love Conquer all?
This is a continuation from the first book “His to Take “. I had not read the first book in this series and found myself slightly lost as to what had happened previously. I would recommend reading the first book before reading the second. This book is about the adaption of species, after the cataclysm, through love, war and peace. This story is told with vivid details that allow you to very easily to immerse you into the story. Rager and Ann are at war, but not with each other. They are fighting themselves and what they stand for. There are a number of “bad guys” running around, along with lots of hot sex! I would recommend this book.
4.5 stars
What a steamy post-apocalyptic alien overlord romance that will have one’s panties in a twist. This book picks up where the first one leaves off and it is not a standalone. The world has changed and Ann is coming into her own as the mate of the alien overlord. She is working diligently to do her part although there is some chatter, by the wolves and other aliens, that she is not worthy of her position. Rager, Ann’s mate, is doing his best to keep the ill-gotten peace but there are rumblings afoot that may shake the foundation to its core. Will everything that Ann and Rager have been trying to build come crashing down? As with the first book, this one is jam packed with action and drama and wonderful, complex characters. Once again, readers are left with a cliffhanger that begs for more of this story. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
This wasn’t at all what I was expecting for where the story would take us next. This book seemed to focus on showing us Ann stepping up and taking on a leadership role amongst the women in her community. But their community is divided. Many of the wolves want their freedoms back. There’s a faction in the aliens that resent Rager’s choice of a human mate. Among the human population, there are those who are taking shameful advantage of their “slaves”. Can Ann and Rager bring the factions together to exist in peace or are they doomed to repeat the wars that destroyed the Earth in the first place? The cliff-hanger this book ends on left me yelling at my reader. I was not prepared for the story to stop there.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I have a confession to make. I started with His to Take, mainly because I love books by Selina Coffey and Summer Cooper and decided if anyone could change my mind about not really enjoying Alien Romances, they could. Now I am addicted to at least this series and cannot wait to find out what is in store for Ann and Rager in Book 3. Are they in the midst of another Post-Apocalyptic revolution and what fate is instore for Ann and where is Rager? All I can say is that I hope Book 3 comes out soon…
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
What a fantastic sequel to His to Take. Ann and Rager are back with more enemies that threaten the life they have and want to build. Former world leaders are teaming up with the wolves to over throw Rager and the good he want to bring Earth. Ann is attempting to unite the women of the human race in order to show men they don’t need to begin a war to bring about change, while also trying to make medicine and technology more assessable for health concerns. However Ann has a secret and the threats to her happiness have become far too real. His to Mate is a captivating continuation of Ann and Rager’s story with more twists, passion, hatred, danger, laughter, and change than before. After reading the cliffhanger, I’m anxiously awaiting the next book.
“I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.”
Book 2 started a smoothly from book 1. Which I highly recommend His to Take! Ann and Rager’s relationship gets closer and hotter. There are many different issues going on with the new earth but I like that it’s not confusing and it’s a fun read. I really think you will enjoy this book and I can’t wait for the next installment!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
