My name is Ivy Moore. This morning I woke up a 21-year-old overworked waitress, sister, and not much else.6 years ago I watched my mother walk away while I was trapped in the mangled car that held my crippled twin sister and the body of my dead father. My hatred for her ran deep into my bones. It wasn’t until I was attacked by monsters that were attracted to my blood that I began to understand.… began to understand.
With the help of the local arrogant vampire lord, I learned all about my heritage, about vampires and revenants, about what it was like to live again. About learning to love.
While Crispin spent his nights training me to be a deadly killer, someone else was creating an army.
I was a Hunter.
And someone wanted me for my blood.

This book is just amazing!! It has a strong female character, a strong male interest, and a plot that just keeps getting juicier. Ivy has been taking care of herself and her sister for several years now. Things change for her when she finds trouble during her daily run. She realizes her life is so much more than she thought and starts bracing her true self with Crispin’s help. Crispin is the typical protective and possessive guy but Ivy is his soft spot. This story was so captivating and I can’t wait for the next book.
Ivy and her twin were in an accident when they were younger, leaving her twin paralyzed and a very angry person. Her father died in the accident and her mother left that night.Crispin was over the vampires in his area. One night he happened upon ivy after she had been attacked and told her she was a Hunter. But she was also his fated mate. Their was an interesting, fun and exciting courtship between Crispin and Ivy as he taught her the ways of the Hunter, tried to keep her safe and made her his. Good read
This book was so interesting and exciting and was filled with so much energy. Ivy turned into such a strong female lead in this book. Great story.

Wow what a great storyline full hunters and the hunted. Ivy was left for dead in a car crash by her mother. Crispins is the Vampire lord that not finds her and protects and trains the hunter she is meant to be. Wow the chemistry between them is combustible. I loved this storyline looking forward to the second book to answer the questions this one left.

This is the story of Ivy and Crispin. When she was fifteen her mother walked away from a mangled car that Ivy, her twin sister and her father were trapped in. Then Ivy is attacked by creatures that wanted her blood. Crispin is the local vampire lord who takes Ivy under his wing. He trains her to fight and protects her from more attacks. He is a very possessive man and will do everything to protect his mate. I enjoyed this intriguing story. I look forward to the next one. 3.5 Stars
The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. While I enjoyed the book, I was unable to connect to the characters.

The synopsis lured me in, my fellow vampire romance book loving friends. Seeing this caring, resilient heroine embrace her unknown to her heritage/destiny in such an alpha warrior leading lady way made my day. Getting the alpha vampire good guy hero to boot, well, that was the icing on the cake. They made a great team, folks.
I wish I had more time to elaborate. Just know I basically really enjoyed this storyline and hope to read more by this debut author. There are a few quick things I do feel compelled to nitpick about before I go. Right after the rescue near the end, I couldn’t help but feel the writing was off. Maybe it was poor editing or the author didn’t have a clear exit strategy when scripting the “to be continued” wrap-up. Things ended with a thrown in smex scene instead of substance, Considering the circumstances and quality of the previous writing, I must admit I had higher expectations than that. I found myself fastforwarding, which surprised even myself.
I really think a conclusion with capturing the culprit should have been how this book ended. Book 2 should be focused in a whole new direction and star another main couple. The night club owning top dog demon would be an excellent choice. Jade, Rhys, and Ariel would be contenders, as well. Instead, based on the teaser chapter of Hunter’s Promise, more drama regarding this villain and heroine is going to play out. The mechanical, utilitarian narrative in chapter one will bring readers quickly up to date, in case you haven’t read the first book. Though you’ll miss out on the awesomeness/heart and soul of this main couple if you skip book 1.
For a debut author, this writer did a pretty good, bang up job of writing a romance in this genre. She kept me engaged and wanting to see this couple happy together.
Book 1 – Hunter’s Blood
Book 2 – Hunter’s Promise
P.S. Yeah, I know. She let her sister get away with too much out of sadness, guilt for her situation. But I just had to let that aspect go. This heroine had lots of other good things going for her not to love her character.
Romance Safety Gang: Hero is a powerful centuries old vampire. Only one vampire is known to be more powerful. There are some OW that either are interested in him or he has fed off of/meaningless sex a few times (but never had feelings for) that try to cause trouble. The heroine is a virgin.
Content: Very graphic smex at times, bloody battles fighting ghouls/rogue vamps. One tough, doesn’t back down heroine and do anything to protect his mate top alpha wolf shifter vamp hero.
