Being across the country for work on Christmas is no fun for Isabel, especially when everyone around her is into the festive holiday. Wanting nothing to do with the holiday spirit, she wasn’t expecting a gorgeous cowboy determined to lift up her grumpy & sour mood while she’s in town. Johnny finds the town’s newcomer beautiful & intriguing. When he finds out the reasons she hates Christmas, he makes it his mission to turn her frowns upside down. With the deadline to return home looming over their heads, will Isabel have the courage to give this cowboy a chance at love? A fun, holiday read with a woman jaded on love and Christmas and a fun-loving cowboy recreating her negative holiday past experiences into better memories.
I really enjoyed Johnny and Isabel’s story. I liked the way they meet in the store and she gives him her list of reasons she doesn’t like Christmas. I loved how sweet Johnny was by trying to replace her bad memories with good ones. There were quite a few parts that I just smiled at how sweet and parts that I laughed about. I am glad they were able to be together.

Yasss! Elle Thorpe delivers us this sweet rom-com with 25 Reasons To Hate Christmas and Cowboys. Omg! I laughed, I swooned and just overall loved it. I want a cowboy of my own! Lol Johnny and Isabel couldn’t be anymore different but sometimes it’s those differences that bring two people together and make opposites attract. Despite their differences love is something that they both feel. I love the chemistry between the two. This is definitely another Christmas read that is worthy of a hallmark channel Holiday movie! Must read!
Johnny and Isabel are the main characters in the story, Isabel is a beach loving Aussie who has taken a designing job for a couple of months in the USA and it’s here she meets Johnny. Johnny helps his father run his families ranch/farm, a true Cowboy, with a big heart, boyish charm and the manners of a gentleman. Johnny is a Christmas loving cowboy and when he learns that Isabel hates Christmas and has a list of reasons why, he is dead set on changing her mind on every one of her 25 reasons.
This book gave me all the festive feels without being cheesy and cliche. I can’t see how you can fail to be charmed by Johnny and the lengths he goes to, to convince Isabel Christmas is amazing. I laughed I swooned, I found the characters likeable and the story incredibly endearing and as ever Elle’s writing is so easy to read and flows beautifully.
This is the perfect romance that balances the love story and the festive feels to perfection, everyone should be reading this book to get them in the holiday spirits, I cannot wait to see more from Elle in this series!
What a brilliantly sweet and swoony Christmas story. I absolutely loved it. It had all the feels. It was quite fast paced but it didn’t leave anything out. The storyline was perfection and the characters were so good and enjoyable to read about. I loved the way the story unfolded and the ending was perfect. Although I would have loved to read more about these.
Super cute, and steamy snowy romance! I absolutely loved the adorable Johnny! Fun quick insta attraction story! Phenomenal writing and I’m looking forward to reading more of this authors stories!
25 Reasons to Hate Christmas and Cowboys is equal parts sweet, sexy, and loads of fun. This couple is just too darn cute, and Elle Thorpe’s writing makes it easy to fall into their story. Johnny is almost too good to be true with his combination of cocky and sweet, and it’s impossible not to love him as he whittles away at Isabel’s reasons for hating Christmas, some laugh out loud funny and some a little more serious. The story is well-written, fast-paced, and a great combination of hilarious and swoon-worthy. Every woman who loves cowboys needs a Johnny in her life! If you find yourself stressed over the holidays, Elle Thorpe’s 25 Reasons to Hate Christmas and Cowboys is the perfect low-angst remedy.
This was such a fund read! It was funny and sweet and sexy. I couldn’t stop laughing but I also couldn’t stop reading. It sucks you in and doesn’t spit you back out until you are done. Love the hero knowing who he wants and his determination to not give up.

Isabel has twenty-five reasons why she hates Christmas. And if I were in her shoes, I might just feel the same way. It won’t be easy to change her mind after so many years of disappointments. But then again, she hadn’t met Johnny West yet. Once Johnny meets Isabel, to say he is interested is an understatement. There is something about her that draws him in close. Johnny is determined to give Isabel twenty-five reasons of his own why she should love Christmas. And if he should get her to love him as well, then that’s a true win.
I’m just going to say it, Johnny had me smiling and giddy from his first moments on the page. He was adorable. Johnny was a gorgeous, well-built, hunky cowboy but the aspect of his persona that truly won me over was his generous heart and considerate nature. Like I said, he was adorable.
I don’t need to repeat all that’s in the synopsis because the author does a great job with that. The premise is pretty sweet and the story well-written. There is a bit of angst, but not much. Overall, this book was a light, endearing read and I enjoyed it very much. I definitely recommend this. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
Cowboy romances are my guilty pleasure, and Elle Thorpe’s 25 Reasons to Hate Christmas and Cowboys definitely fills that pleasurable vice. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Thorpe and I definitely want to read more. This book has all the feels: part greeting card channel romance, part rom-com and a dash of sexy spice, rolling it all into a great read.
Isabel is a short-term transplant, sent by her boss from Australia to snowy Wyoming to help a store through the Christmas rush. She hates Christmas; with good reason, twenty-five to be exact, especially #25. Ironically, the town she is sent to does Christmas in a big way. She hates snow, the holidays, and she’s not fond of cowboys, that is until she meets Johnny.
Though he has a bit of a reputation as a ladies’ man. He is smitten with Isabel the first time he meets her. His persistence for a date pushes her to write a list of her 25 reasons to hate Christmas. The swoon-worthy cowboy sets about to right those wrongs and in the process win her heart. His task is to do so before she leaves the day after Christmas. Johnny is one of those perfect cowboy boyfriends. He’s protective, sweet, charming, lovable, and sexy as sin. Poor Isabel, she doesn’t really stand a chance.
Ms. Thorpe’s characters are warm and likable, the situations funny, the chemistry between Isabel and Johnny hot and endearing, the emotions palpable, and the plot well-paced and a interesting. This book will definitely become a holiday reread for me year after year. I recommend adding this to your holiday reading list as soon as possible.
What a delightful holiday story. The author has written a funny, romantic storyline with characters that I simply fell in love with. I can easily see this being a holiday read for years to come. It made me laugh, smile and honestly fall in love with Christmas a little bit more, if that’s even possible.
Johnny stops by the local store in their little country town, and sees the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen – Isabel. He learns she hates Christmas. She even gives him a list with a reason for every year she’s been alive to prove it. Johnny can’t believe it and sets out to make a happy memory for each item on the list but he only has the 3 weeks she is in town to get it done. The sad part is the more time he spends with her the more he wants her to stay
with him and not go home to Australia.
This is a fun read as Johnny goes through the list and tried to win Isabel’s heart. I Highly recommend curling up on the couch or in your comfy chair and enjoying this Holiday read. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
Isabel is sent to a s all town near Wyoming for work just a month before Christmas by her boss. She absolutely hates Christmas this is where she meets Johnny the sexy cowboy . He guarantees he’ll change her mind . This book is humorist and sexy and has them aww moments all rolled into one book.It was a great fun read
FUN ENJOYABLE Read!
A fun intriguing read with plenty of dry humour and drama that flowed at a nice steady pace. Edgy hot chemistry with twists and turns that intervened throughout the suspense filled storyline and an enjoyable ending that I wasn’t ready for it to be over leaving me a bit needy and wanting more but still enjoyed this crazy fun read.
