“Designing His Bride” is book three of Lenora Worth’s Brides of Blossom Texas series and features Mona Perez and Ryne Kilpatrick.
Mona is the last of her group of friends to still be single, but with the way her parents’ marriage ended the last thing she needs is a relationship of her own.
Ryne may still be healing from losing someone he loved, but the sight of Mona makes him believe he can love again. So when Mona asks him to be her fake boyfriend, he’s quick to say yes.
Neither wants to fall in love…until they do.
Ms. Worth pens a charming story interspersed with flirty banter and serious moments.
Mona and Ryne’s fake relationship in Designing His Bride by Lenora Worth, book three in her Brides of Blossom, Texas series just might be more real than fake. This heartwarming story begins with Ryne building a cabin next to Mona’s wedding boutique. Mona loves the quiet and especially taking long walks in the woods that Ryne is in the process of tearing down. Ryne was once in love, a forever love relationship, but a tragedy occurred, making him believe he would never love again. These two opposites share an off the charts chemistry that causes electrical shocks, showering those around them. Mona is in dire need of a relationship to prove to her mother that she has emotionally moved on and her mother can recommit to her dad. Asking lone wolf, Harley rider, Ryne to be her pretend boyfriend takes her out of her comfort level but she will sacrifice her feelings to make her mother believe. It’s the perfect plan; right? The problem, how to keep from falling for this bad boy as Ryne comes to terms with the fact that he’s falling for Mona.
Ms. Worth wrote a wonderful and heartwarming story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Mona and Ryne a chance to take their fake relationship to another level. I highly recommend Designing His Bride to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Author Lenora Worth just knows how to tale a story that has my inter self so deep into the book I simply can not put it down. It started from the Hot hunk on the bulldozer all the way to the weddings in Blossom gazebo. But it is not just about the people (yes there are wonderful characters) it’s so much more. We get to know this part of Texas as if it were real and it had me wanting to take a trip to the River Walk and look for some of the food and antique places mentioned. I wanted to find this quaint little town and walk into the diner to see if i can smell the coffee or man muffins. Maybe say Hi to some of the characters from past books or shake hands with Mona and Ryne and let them know what 30 yrs of marriage looks like from my end. You do not have to read the other two books in this series but this series reads like a Hallmark movie so hey grab them and have some fun this weekend.
Mona and Ryne are the perfect kind of characters to read about. Both have been hurt but in different ways. Neither are looking for love. Mona especially tries to deny the hot chemistry they have. Which was harder when pretending to be in a relationship. But sometimes love-the real deal slips upon you. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. This is the third and final book in the Brides of Blossom, Texas series and I have been fortunate to read all 3 of these books. I loved this story. The series is about 3 women, best friends who have all returned to Blossom and 3 guys, also super close friends who have ended up in Blossom. In the first 2 books, we were introduced to all 6 and book one had Serina and Blake get together and book 2 had Kayla and Holt get together.
Book 3 is the story of Mona, who is the fashion designer who returned to take over her mom’s clothing boutique after she suffered a heart attack. Her parents divorced years ago and she is realizing they still love each other and she wants to play matchmaker. She was paired up with Blake and Holt’s friend Ryne at Sarina and Blake’s wedding initially. Then one morning she wakes up and finds him bulldozing the trees on the adjacent property to her boutique and home. He is building a home for himself, trying to put down roots in the town where his buddies have ended up. They are secretly interested in each other but they tell everyone they don’t want to be in a relationship as both had tragic pasts and didn’t want to be hurt again.
Mona comes up with a plan to get her parents back together by pretending she and Ryne are a couple so her mom will go to Austin and remarry her dad. She thinks if her mom believes she has someone her mom won’t feel the need to stay for her. She shares her plan with her friends and then Ryne who gives conditions but agrees to help her.
Mona and Ryne start to fall for each for real but don’t want to let the other know. Ryne has a sad past with a fiancée and her son that died tragically. The guys know and then they shared with their women but Mona doesn’t know the story initially. There is quite a bit of angst, crossed signals, misunderstandings and fear to commit in this story. It is a terrific, romantic read and I highly recommend it and the entire series.
Opposites attracting really does happen.
Ryne Kilpatrick is in Blossom to build a home for himself and some more building for a friend to complement the inn. He has purchased the land right next to the wedding dress salon owned by the very talented Mona Perez. Ryne is very much a lone wolf who has retreated from his emotions after a tragedy. He is a very talented craftsman and understands that just because something is old it doesn’t mean that it is no longer useful. He reminds me of Mark Bowe and his crew of Barnwood Builders and their ability to “talk” to old wood. Ryne even has the requisite large dog who could pass for a wolf.
Mona Perez is a talented wedding dress designer who came back to Blossom when her mother got sick and took over her mother’s wedding dress business when her mother got sick. Mona loves the business her mother had built up and has taken it even further. She is perfectly content or so she claims with her life with no boyfriend or significant other. Her best friends are either married or engaged but she is more concerned about getting her parents back together. And she is willing to create a fake relationship with Ryne who is her new next door neighbor to get her parents back together.
After all what can go wrong with a fake relationship to get your parents back together? And your girlfriends are helping you out? And unknown to you, your fake boyfriend has his friends, who just happen to be your best friends husband and fiance, helping him?
This is a wonderful ending to this series and is a sweet story in it’s own right.
I did receive a copy of this novel in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
Mona in Designing His Bride by Lenora Worth decides to play matchmaker. Always a dangerous thing to do especially with people you love. Fake boyfriends can also be dangerous even if it is only to fool the people you are trying to match together again. Then there is the opposites attraction thing going on too. As you can guess, Mona is tangled up in all kinds of emotional situations before long.
Emotional rich stories with characters who must work through their own hurts and resolve feelings that are not so easily dismissed are Ms. Worth’s forte. Mona is not the only one who has baggage in this story. It is a powerful look at what love can do.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Mona Perez and Ryne Kilpatrick’s story.
“What is that awful noise?” Mona Perez pushed her hair away from her face and hit at her pink satin pillow. She checked the dainty Victorian clock on the nightstand and squinted through the thick hair that fell back over her eyes.
Six a.m. on a Saturday. Something inhuman grinded and roared outside her apartment over the Falling Leaves Boutique. Blossom, Texas, was usually quiet this time of morning, but that roaring and chopping and grinding sounded as if a giant alligator had come out of the river like a Texas-sized Godzilla.
Pushing back the salmon-colored floral comforter, she grabbed her baby-blue cashmere robe and trudged to the windows overlooking the woods surrounding Falling Blossoms Inn’s carriage house. Now the Falling Leaves Boutique. She designed wedding gowns and had a full inventory of women’s fashions, which she showcased in the boutique. Mona fancied this quiet, peaceful life as compared to when she’d been in New York, running through Mood Fabrics while she’d tried to get through design school, running for the subway while she’d tried to get back to the dorm-like apartment where she lived with three other girls. Always running. She could never be sure she’d been running toward something or away from everything.
The man looked up then stopped the machine. The world went silent, and she breathed a sigh of relief. But that relief ended when the driver took off his wool cap and hopped down onto the ground he’d destroyed.
“Mona Lisa Perez,” he said with a lopsided grin. “We meet again.”
Mona silently groaned and gritted her teeth. “Ryne Kilpatrick. I should have known it was you. So this is the land you said you’d bought?”
I highly recommend reading.

I love this book it was a love story just too hard to put down. Mona claims that she doesn’t like Ryne who is a friend of Drake and Holt. Drake and Holt has married her best friends Sarina and Kayla. Mona finds out that her Mom and Dad really love each other but her Mom won’t move to Austin to live with her Dad because she doesn’t want to leave Mona. So Mona comes up with a plan to get her Mom and Dad back together by telling them that she was dating Ryne. Things kinda backfired and left an interesting story.
Really enjoyed this book and just could not put it down.
In Blossom, Texas love blooms when sparks fly. Two decidedly opposites decide to fool everyone by acting like a real couple. Funny enough, it all backfires on them because sparks do ignite!
