After the death of her husband, Catherine Sarich dedicated her life to her four boys. Now that each of them has found love, gotten married, and started families of their own, Catherine finds herself wanting more out of her life than babysitting her grandchildren. While her boys and their wives keep pushing one particular man in her direction, she’s never really embraced being single, or dating, … dating, so she signs up for a dating app.
Mistake number one.
Even though she finds retired Green Beret Wesley Maron incredibly attractive and insanely sweet, she finds herself shying away from a man who reminds her too much of her late husband.
But when a suitor turns deadly, she turns to the one man who not only has her best interests at heart but loves her unconditionally, even if he too is struggling to open his soul to love again.
Wesley Maron spent too many years pining over his ex-wife. When he finally finds the woman who has the ability to flip his world upside down, he finds himself having to accept the fact she’s not into him and wants to date other people. Protecting his heart, he gives Catherine all the space she needs in hopes someday she will realize her true love is right down the street. But when one of her dates turns out to be everything other than a gentleman, he decides to take matters into his own hands, even if it means laying his life down for the woman he loves.

This was a perfect end to the Sarich Brothers series. I am glad their mom finally got her own book and also that it still had the elements of suspense that I loved from the other books. Wesley and Catherine fit perfectly together.
A great story about two older adults testing the waters for love again. Catherine’s boys are settled and have children which she loves, and Wesley’s daughter is married to Dylan and they are expecting their first child. When Catherine tests the dating apps, strange things start to happen. Love this family and how they enteract. Theirs some heat, action towards the end but a HEA.
This book is real. This book is loving. This book is fantastic. Catherine raised her four boys to become great men, husbands, and dads. Now is her turn. Catherine decides to start dating again. Wesley has let her know he is interested. Catherine like Wesley, but he reminds her very much of her late husband. She is afraid of having a relationship with him. Their attraction cannot be denied. All the characters are wonderful. I haven’t read any of the Aegis Network books, but it is not needed to enjoy this wonderfully written book. I will go back and read all of them.
Head of the Sarich family Catherine absolutely deserved to find her happy ever after seeing as though all her kids now are happily married and Wesley is her perfect match but Catherine turns out to be as stubborn as her sons so Wesley has a bit of work ahead of him. This is the perfect mix of attraction, trepidation, mystery, suspense, twists that will shock you and some great laughs when Catherine and Wesley find out what it’s like to have a family meddling in their potential love lives.
The Matriarch is Book 5 in the Sarich Brothers series. While I never read the first four books, I found that I had no issues reading this as a stand alone book. However, having said that, I am quickly going to remedy that and read the stories about the four Sarich brothers! Catherine was widowed when her husband was killed in the line of duty. In reading this book she did a great job in raising her four sons, who are all grown and married with children. Loved how close the family is. When Catherine decides that it’s time to see if she can find romance again and goes to a dating app, her sons are not happy. All of them are pushing her to go out with Wesley (Dylan’s father-in-law), but Catherine has hesitated because he reminds her too much of her deceased husband. Sons insist on doing a background check on mom’s date. When everyone in the family becomes a target for danger, I loved how everyone gathered round to help and find out who was trying to harm them. Of course, such a sweet ending for Catherine and Wesley. Thoroughly enjoyed. Also think I enjoyed because I’m older, and it was nice to read about someone older getting back in the dating scene.
OK first things first you need to read the previous four books in this Aegis series before you start this one or you will have no idea what is going on (the first four books are the sons) Once you have done that then you are ready for this wonderful story about Catherine the mother of this series
Catherine was widowed at a young age after her husband was killed in the line of duty she has spent the rest of her life raising four wonderful sons and now she has a little freedom but she is bored with caring for her grand children her boys keep pushing her to date Wesley but he is too much like their father for her to want to go there. Wesley has done a wonderful job of raising his daughter all by himself but he wants to start dating and he has his eye on Catherine but no matter how many times he asks her out she always refuses. When Catherine does decide to start dating she picks a man who places her in danger and the only man she can turn to is Wesley Will this former Green Beret be able to keep her safe and will he finally get the woman that he has wanted for a while You will have to read to see
Sigh! This is the book I feel like I’ve been waiting the whole series for. In the background of all the sons’ stories was Catherine; chivying them along to be the best men they could be and to find their happily ever afters. It’s about time she got another shot at a happy ever after too by further entwining her family and Wes’s. This story has suspense, intrigue, humor, and steam. I was madly flipping through the book to find out what was going to happen next. But, the drama was almost eclipsed by my need to see what outlandish stunt one of the children or grandchildren would do next. Now that it’s over, I’m sad to let go of the whole extended Sarich family. I want the series to go on forever.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Finally, we have Mother Sarich’s story, and it includes back story on her husband and on the boys and their youth. Reluctant to be involved with a man that reminds her of her late husband, Catherine Sarich registers on a dating app and goes on a date with a man she meets through the app. The date is not successful, and she agrees to go on a date with Wesley Maron, Dylan’s FIL, the man she’s been avoiding. Her dating app suitor is a determined man though, and there are threats to her family and to her – and is he behind them? I enjoyed the way this book brings all the Sarich boys’ stories together and offers a way to happiness for Catherine. More than that, it looks at a contemporary issue, the dating app, the vulnerability of women on those apps, and the idea of navigating a relationship later in life.
I received an advance copy of this book; this review is entirely voluntary.
This is book 5 in the The Sarich Brothers series and you absolutely must read the other books in the series so you can understand things that are spoken about in this one. Along with the fact that all of these characters are introduced in previous books. That being said, in this one we finally get a HEA for their mom Catherine! Catherine lost her husband when her kids were younger. Now all of her boys have married and had children of their own. And it’s her time to find out if there is more to her life than what she currently has. Wesley is her son’s father in law, and while she is attracted to him. He reminds her of her husband and she doesn’t want to make comparisons. But Wesley also knows that he loves her and wants to find out if they can have more. All while keeping their families safe when someone decides to come after them.
I really liked this one! Catherine was always this strong woman who never stepped back when something was hard or hurt. She raised these great kids but she also gave up a lot while doing it. Wesley intrigued me in his daughter’s book because of everything he went through trying to make her home life better than what it was. And trying to give her what he thought a family should be. Only to realize that they were better with it being just them. I love that he always stepped up and was the Dad she needed even when it hurt him. My only draw back for this book was that Catherine at first came across as a little wishy washy. Which is not how I picture her at all. But I do get where she was coming from and her fears. And after that-had me hooked and I didn’t want it to end! I’m glad that we got to see her get a HEA just like her boys!!
4.5***** stars The Sarich momma is ready to try dating some years after the death of her husband in the line of duty. Her four sons have settled and are giving her grandchildren. But she is lonely. She tries a dating app and her security specialist sons are busy checking out her potential date. They are also intent of setting her up with a father-in-law, but she finds him to be too much like her husband, so she has been begging off. And… gotta have some suspense and action! Nicely written and totally enjoyed reading this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
The Matriarch is the fifth and final book in the Sarich Brothers series and it focuses on Catherine Sarich, the four men’s mother.
Overall this was a good read and wrap up to the series. Since all the sons have found love and their happy endings, it was nice to see Catherine find hers as well. Along with the other books in the series, all the family are included in this read and we get to catch up with the rest of the family and see what has been happening in the lives of the four brothers and their wives, as well as enjoy the new developments in their mother, Catherine’s, life. There was family drama, funny moments, suspense, action, and romance wrapped up in this entertaining story. In a few instances I thought Catherine was a bit too naïve in her thoughts and actions after being surrounded by military men (her sons and late husband) for so many years. Some of her actions just seemed reckless and avoidable. And there were a few instances also that I felt Wesley’s character was a bit too tender-hearted for his Green Beret persona, but he did step up and become all alpha when the woman he loved was in danger. There was also a wonderful heartfelt ending with plenty of sweetness that will give you that warm and fuzzy feeling. Wesley and Catherine made a charming couple and the story was a nice ending to the Sarich family saga.
Great relaxing read. Although it’s a novella your not left wondering and questioning events it all flows very well into a very satisfying, enjoyable one sitting read. The two main characters Catherine and Wesley are instantly lovable and have a really good chemistry. It was easy to actually feel Catherine struggling with her feelings and emotions. Wesley you almost feel sick for to start with and I did question how he managed to keep it together at times. Fantastic novella well worth the read.

I have so enjoyed seeing this family and their stories brought to life. Catherine finally gets her story. Wesley and Catherine have a few battles along the way, but the end is so satisfying. Great epilogue.
