The Underground Toy Society Helps Ellie Elephant
Book starts with acknowledgements and then the story.
The girls Janiece and Janelle are heading to go camping with the family.
They travel far away and get to enjoy their toys that they brought along.
Problem comes with they are ready to leave and the girls stop to swing one last time
Janiece had forgotten Ellie on the swing. She is so tired on the way home she doesn’t realize the elephant has been left behind.
Story switches then to Ellie and what she goes through to try to catch up with them before they leave…
Great that she meets up with a chipmunk who does not know of the toy society but he knows of a mole that might be able to help out.
Mindy Mole knows about the toy society and offers their help….they locate Tammy the Train and with her help amazing things happen.
They run into problems with NO batteries for the train but Bluebell is nearby to help them. Everybody is so helpful!
Colorful sketches are included. Other plans to help them not raise suspicion as to how Ellie made it back as they don’t know she’s missing yet.
Ellie just wants to be in Janiece’s bed that night..
Book ends with about the author, listing of her works and how to contact her.

What a wonderful take on how toys behave when we aren’t watching. Love-able characters and top notch plotting keeps this story moving. Your little will love this story. They’ll want to hear the story many times. Ms. Adams has a lively imagination little will enjoy. Add this to your little’s library.
I found no issues.
I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because this book should be a movie. The author provided me with a copy of the book but I chose to review it.
Another Adorable Read
Poor Ellie Elephant! She gets accidentally left behind at a campground when the family leaves to go back home. She knows she can’t look like she’s alive, so she furtively runs after the camper while holding her belly so that the jingle bell inside won’t ring. She attempts to jump on the camper, but she is off-balance (because of holding her jingly belly) and unable to do so. Luckily, Chippy Chipmunk finds her and connects her with The Underground Toy Society, which often reunites lost toys with their owners. Although there are setbacks along the way, Ellie gets help from several members of the Society and makes it back to the family home just in time to leap into the car. The little girl does not realize her favorite toy is missing until bedtime, and ultimately, Dad finds it in the back of the car. The reunion is sweet indeed. Having just recently read the story by the same author about Beary Bear and the Society, I loved how Ellie was much more proactive trying to get back to the family and the little girl that the toy obviously loves. She actively works hard, despite obstacles, to get to where she needs to be. As with the other book, this book is charmingly illustrated by the author’s daughters. I love that when I see it in a children’s book. This book would be perfect for reading to a younger child as well as an early reader book for those slightly older. A sweet story about tenacity and connection.

When Ellie is left behind on a camping trip, she seeks out Murry the Mole from The Underground Toy Society, but in turn, meets new friends.
Ms. Adams added some brilliant ideas in her book that will engage readers and make them smile. I love how she allows her daughters to illustrate her books, as it inspires them to write their own tales.
