Their parents thought they were hiding… One beautiful summer’s evening, thirteen-year-old twins Ivy and Erin Westmore snuggle down in a tent in their back garden, giggling and sharing secrets. When their mother goes to wake the girls the next morning, their tent is empty. The alarm is raised and Detective Natalie Ward is put onto the case. When the twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, … twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, covered with deep pink petals, an icy shiver travels down Natalie’s spine. Everything about the girls’ deaths reminds her of a horrifying case she worked on earlier in her career, which saw a killer of the worst kind placed behind bars.
The next day, that feeling is heightened when she receives a chilling note saying ‘I’m back’. Is this killer a copycat or did Natalie put the wrong person in prison all those years ago? In a small town, where no stranger goes unnoticed, what is Natalie missing?
Consumed by the case, determined to prevent more deaths, Natalie misses the fact that it is her attention the killer wants. And to get it, he has his sights set firmly on her precious daughter Leigh…
Gripping, fast-paced and nail-bitingly tense, this book will keep you flying through the pages long into the night. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter.

Could not put it down. One of my favorite authors. I read everything she writes,
Wow does not begin to describe this powerful, emotional and dark drama about Detective Natalie Ward! The book begins with one young girl dead and then twins killed in a way that reminds Natalie of a killer who is in prison. She needs to find out quickly whether this is a copycat killer or if she put the wrong man in prison. Since the killer seems to be targeting twins, Natalie is nervous about her own children, twins Josh and Leigh. This fact ramps up the emotion that I felt, right along with Natalie. I felt her fear, her discouragement and her desperation and wanted the case solved quickly. On the other hand, I didn’t want the book to end because I was enjoying the riveting tension too much! I have read two other Natalie Ward books, and this one is hands down the best one yet. The ending left me dizzy, reeling with the huge twist at the end that I never saw coming. Although this is the fifth book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone without any difficulty following the plot or characters at all. In this book, Natalie is dealing with a criminal mind as well as problems at home with her marriage. So much drama! Now, I am impatiently waiting for the next Natalie Ward book, knowing that Carol Wyer is a suspense writer that is to be reckoned with. Fans of suspense, mystery and thrillers will definitely want to read this book!

I have become addicted to this series. I love the way the author realistically balances the main character’s (Natalie) home life and her work life. As always, Natalie investigates a heinous crime while trying to figure out how to keep her family together. This time, the evil is closer and intertwined than ever before. The case is interesting, the plot is tight, and well…I can’t say anymore without giving it away. But trust me, you’re going to want to read this one when you can be alone with your thoughts for a while afterward. For a full review, please visit my blog at Fireflies and Free Kicks. This book is book 5 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I have not read any of these books and I was able to read this one and not be lost. I must admit I am now curious about the other books in the series now. I read mystery, crime & psychological thrillers all the time so I was able to figure out who the murderer was about halfway through the story. However the story did keep my attention right up to the shocking ending which was jaw dropping.Days later this book is still on my mind. I promise you it will keep you turning pages far into the night. I started and finished this book all in one day. The plot, the characters and the writing is all great. All of the scenes were perfectly described. It was easy to feel as if you were right there in the middle of all of it. For all you kindle unlimited members this book is on Kindle unlimited. I highly recommend this exciting thrilling , dark read. Many thanks to the Publisher , the Author , and NetGalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And as with any book you read PLEASE leave the author a REVIEW. Reviews are very important to authors and is what keeps them writing.

Oh my god… Nooooo. What? How could this happen? Natalie Ward is investigating the disappearance of a girl and the murder of two twin girls. All the evidence is pointing to a killer already convicted and dead. Is this a copy cat or did they get the wrong man in the past? Not only has Natalie problems at work, with a new boss and an old envious colleague, she still has to tell her children that she and David are separating. For real this time, she already has a flat and is just waiting for the right moment to tell. Then her daughter Leigh disappears…..again.
I can honestly say, that I did not see that coming and I disliked so many persons in this story. And, I cried. A lot.
This is yet another amazing story from one of my favorite authors. A killer from Natalie’s past has appeared to return even though they thought the right man had been caught and died in prison years ago. At first no one wants to believe the current cases are related, but Natalie feels her gut instinct kick in right away and she can’t believe she has to live through this again.
Just like several years ago, teenage twin girls are being killed, their bodies left together, holding hands, the victims strangled. No one can figure out how these girls are being lured away, as each time they are last seen they are alone and safe, no sign of anyone spiriting them away. It’s up to Natalie and her team to determine if this is indeed the same killer or a clever copycat.
I have to say that this is one time an ‘unbelievable ending’ lives up to its name. I never thought it would end the way it did and there’s not much more to say without giving anything away. That makes it so hard! You certainly won’t forget it and if you’re like me, you’ll wonder how on earth Natalie and her team will continue on as usual. It may be just a story, but I had a hard time handling my emotions! I’ve always connected with this author and her realistic story arcs, but this time, I rather wish I was more detached. Would have been a lot easier to make it through this one. And you can bet I’ll be first in line for the next, as usual!
Missing children are every parent’s worse nightmare, surpassed only by that of the loss of a child. Sadly this happens more than any of us would like to admit. As parents, we have a deep-seated fear for the safety of our children and often prefer to live in a ‘this is the kind of thing that happens to other people, not us’ bubble. Unfortunately, this is what DI Ward has to deal with daily, she’s unable to hide away in a bubble. She returns with a bang in the much anticipated fifth installment of the Detective Natalie Ward Crime Thriller Series.

Wow! Just wow! I absolutely loved reading The Blossom Twins! Carol Wyer really gives her readers the feeling of being behind the scenes during a police investigation. Her brilliant writing style and attention to detail truly bring The Blossom Twins up to a next level crime thriller. I rated it a glowing, jaw-dropping five-stars! I’m pretty sure I’m going to need help readjusting my mind and jaw after I pick it up off the floor!

Fourteen-year-old Isabella goes missing at an outdoor concert in the few minutes it takes for her older sister to get them some drinks. Not long after, her body is found alongside scarlet roses. Later that night, twins Erin and Ivy go missing from their backyard tent set up. When their bodies are discovered covered in deep pink petals positioned similar to those of a previous case, it doesn’t take long for Natalie to be called to the scene. Could these cases be related? Maybe. Either way, she’s tasked with finding the killer. To DI Ward, the similarities of these cases are striking to The Blossom Twins case she worked awhile back, but that killer had been brought to justice. Could this be a copy cat, or did she put an innocent man in jail? When Natalie receives an eerie letter from the presumed killer the next day merely stating, “I’m back,” it becomes all too apparent that this case has become personal. Perhaps too personal as the killer draws his attentions in on the detective’s own daughter, Leigh.
