The year Ytha, Ailsa’s sister, was born, the crops had failed and many of the villagers died. Being a superstitious lot they felt the purple birthmark on her back was a sign she was a changeling and had brought evil upon them so they left her outside in the jungle to die. Taken in by Nessa, an older woman who lived in the woods, Ytha survived but never really became a full part of the village. So when she and Garth were paired together, Garth had his doubts. It made him uneasy if she truly were a witch and him having a weakness. This was a great blending of two individual within the village. Giving us answers to a few unasked questions and yet, it left a few open-ended. I’m hoping they’ll be answered as we get further into the series.
This union introduces Garth, a Viking with headaches, and Ytha, an outcast of the village because of her visions of the future. Garth does not want to take her to wife because he fears her also. But Ytha looks in the marriage as a new start for her and demands his attention. They are fiercely attracted to each other and Garth admires her beauty and intelligence. However misunderstandings develop because of his headaches and a rift ensues. Ytha’s stubbornness and refusal to follow his orders get her in trouble. Will she learn to obey while keeping her spirit or will her past and his come between them forever? Passion and love abound. A great read!
This is book seven of the Viking Surrender series. Each of these Authors have come together and made this a series that flows smoothly from book to book. This is Garth and Ytha’s story, I found myself laughing at somethings as I read especially when she is giving birth. I enjoyed reading this book and I will be reading this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

My review :
Can an outcast make a true home with a man who might reject her as the others already did…
It was the blurb that intrigued me, the prologue does not speak about Ytha and Garth outside naming them. But I love the idea of an outcast finding its right place.
First and foremost, download the free prologue to be able to understand this tale wholly.

Ytha is one of the few woman not fighting her chief’s order, she is even very happy to have been given a husband, if only said husband would agree and accept her.
Garth is suffering from incapacitating headaches, and with gossips whispering his new bride might be cursed, he is more than reluctant to make this marriage a real one.
Their journey is about them getting to know each other and giving freely their trust.
But it is a trip they must take together to meet half way.
Sure their chemistry is scorching hot but it is not enough to strengthen their union if they have no faith in the other.
5 stars for this lovely tale.
I read it in the bundle gathering the 9 tales of these Viking warriors finding their wife among a pict village peoples.

This is a short story. Ytha is considered a witch by her tribe. But, they need women to marry the Vikings so that they have their protection. Ytha marries Garth and they start learning about one another. There is a HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A enjoyable, entertaining viking romance & it is the 7th book in the “Viking” series. The well-paced plot is well-written & interesting with good scene descriptions & world building. The strong-willed characters have realistic flaws & expectations although one of them is inclined to be doubtful about the current situation while another one is hopeful for a better future.
There is: a young woman (Ytha) considered to be a witch & a outcast marries a Viking warrior (Garth) with but he is reluctant to make the marriage a real one, Viking warriors/raiders, Pict women, drama, intrigue, some twists, adventure, action, danger, violence, attacks, distrust, reluctance, insolence, defiance, strange attractions, friendly advice, accusations, discipline, spankings, memories, discovery, sadness, compassion, visions, apprehension, debilitating headaches, discovery, jealousy, warnings, determination, loyalty, protectiveness, surprises, love, contentment, happiness & a wonderful ending.
Loved Garth and Ytha
Ytha has always been an outcast in her village. A fails harvest the year of her birth, and her calm nature has her parents abandoning her to the forest. She was raised.by Nessa another outcast, and only returned when she was older. A seer, she lives in the outskirts of the village. Her only other real friend is her sister. She is supposed when Eithne choses her as a bride for the Vikings. She is no widow.
Garth is angry with having to take a wife. While the gift of lands is a good one, his wife is thought to a witch and is just tolerated by the village. He is already cursed since childhood, with pains in his head.
Garth and Ytha get off to a rough start. Ytha never thought she would have a husband so is determined to try to make her marriage work. Garth starts to fall for his strong and smart wife.
Sweet and steamy. Spanking for discipline and pleasure. A nice epilogue to wrap up their story. Part of a multi author series and can be read as a stand alone.
