When she was four years old, Syrie Montgomery was nearly killed when she got lost on Ratera III, the global zoo her family owns. Eighteen years later, she’s back, kidnapped from her bed and abandoned in the location of her childhood trauma—the expansive Fetoji habitat.Terrified and alone, Syrie runs right into a trap and finds herself at the mercy of the creature who set it—a huge leonine hunter … leonine hunter who both scares and captivates her in equal measure…
Deep in the woods, Lohr discovers a rare bounty in his hunting net—a tiny, helpless human woman. She begs him to set her free. To keep her safe while she’s stuck in his habitat. And she promises to return the favor, as soon as she can.
Lohr scoffs at her offer. How could this mousy little human with blunt teeth and no claws possibly be any help to him? He frees her because he needs his net back. Which is when he notices that she’s soft and pretty. And that she smells good. And that she feels amazing tossed over his shoulder, when he carries her to his home. For her protection, of course…
The lion and the mouse develop an instant, sizzling chemistry—but can their passion survive once he realizes that her family is the reason he’s spent his entire life as a zoo exhibit?

Syrie finds herself kidnapped and stranded on her family’s zoo planet biospheres housing alien species in replicas of their home terrain.
Literally dropped into the enclosure she manages to get caught up in Lohr’s trap.
Initially resistant to aiding the small human due to past events Lohr reluctantly takes her back to his den for safekeeping.
Lohr is a Fetoji a humanoid species with the characteristics of a lion claws tail luscious main and bonus he also purrs.
He finds himself seriously attracted to the human female under his care and Syrie returns this interest.
But he has no clue just who her family are and Syrie worries that he will hate her once he discovers the truth of just exactly who she is.
This was sizzling hot and Syrie and Lohr definitely had plenty of chemistry together there was also a deeper message to convey one that delves into all the deeper implications of an actual living dollhouse and just how wrong it is to basically cage an intelligent species for entertainment.
I adored Lohr he was just so sweet but also equally ferocious.
Syrie for me took a bit more work as I did find her initially a bit spoilt and unthinking.
It also at least originally seemed to be all about her but she did eventually grow on me especially when she decided to do the right thing.
I also would have liked the finish to be expanded on slightly as it did seem a tad anticlimactic.
Overall though this was an easy read and I definitely enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this science fiction romance between a human woman and a half lion half man.
Lohr finds more than he wanted caught in his net while out hunting and instead of letting the human woman go he decides to take her home and help her……..the last time he helped a human it was the cause of his parents death …..

it was amazing
I always have loved stories where the characters are not human, alien you may say. When I found out that my favorite authors where writing an spinoff of famous fairy tales, I was sooo excited. Emmy Chandler has become one of my favorite authors because she writes dark sci-fi romance( just dark stories for me please) but this book was different from what she writes and I loved it. Something sweet with a hero that had me wanting to have one of my one. The heroine was tough, the chemistry between them was hot and I liked when they were discovering their differences. I would have loved to read an extended epilogue to know more about their happy ending. 5-I love lions-stars
What an amazing and well written book, with an amazing plot. I struggled to put it down. A definite recommendation!!
Syrie wakes up in darkness and realizes she got kidnapped. Her kidnapper drops her off on a tourist planet, where people come and look at the natives from other undeveloped planets. She freaks when she realizes where she is, cause the last time she was there, at age 4, something bad happened to her. This time she ends up in Lohr’s net.
Lohr is just trying to survive day by day in a world that he hates. He hates the humans, cause they just see him as an attraction. Then one ends up in his net. At first he just wants to leave her, but then he takes her back to his hut, cause she will not survive on her own.
In the beginning there is a lot of tension between them, especially since they are so different. My favorite part was when she took on the female lioness. And just when Lohr and Syrie start to get along and begin to fall in love, the men come……

I loved this story about this new take of the Lion and the Mouse. I enjoyed the conversations between Lohr and Syrie. I got a kick out of the fact that Lohr is a lion like alien in this story and Syrie is the human. This story is very entertaining. I loved the fact that Syrie was assertive and not scared to talk her mind. I loved this story as a whole, and can not wait to read more from this author. I recommend that you read this story, you will love it too.

I loved this retelling. Syrie is feisty and smart. No TSTL moments. Lohr is awesome too! I love their shared past and backgrounds. I didn’t want it to end. I’d love to read more about these two.
Syrie is ready to start her career but wants a vacation first. And by vacation, she means to dump her protection detail and take off on her own. However, she is abducted and dumped on a mysterious planet that she’s seen before.
Lohr finds Syrie caught up in his hunting net and rescues her. He’s intrigued, and she’s cautious but attracted.
The planet is not what it seems, and staying together and alive is a challenge!
Totally cosmic!
Being dropped into the middle of a ‘zoo’ planet gives Syrie a whole new perspective to consider. I love the intrigue, the questions regarding her kidnapper; who is he, why did he do it, when will she be ransomed? But best of all, is the discovery that the Fejoti are not the vicious creatures she believed them to be. Dangerous? Yes. Very different from humans? Yes. But a certain Lohr is ever so intriguing. I really love the unique take on Lohr; his frustration, what he thinks, what he expects based on his culture. So different from Syrie’s human viewpoint.
I love the story! Well-told, a delicious romance, and justice is well served.
