Tinsel, Vermont is known for its no-paparazzi policy and Christmas decorations that are fit for a queen. This holiday season, join four royals on a stroll through town square as they each find their Christmas wishes for a happily-ever-after…tiaras optional.
I enjoy novella collections for many reasons, mainly because I feel like I’ve read four books when in truth I’ve only read one.
This collection is so fun and I am in love with the town of Tinsel, Vermont! It seems like the perfect place to live. Paparazzi is not allowed so it’s a perfect place for celebrities, royalty, and those just wanting to get away from it all to visit. It’s the perfect town at Christmas time with it’s decorations fit for a Queen.
Each of the royalty that make their way to Tinsel for the holidays are just regular people with flaws like the rest of us.
Within each of the stories the author’s have written multi-layered stories that flow flawlessly from one story to the next not missing a beat.
The setting, stories and character’s are charming with a fairy-tale qualities making you want to visit again and again.
The faith element is woven through each story without being overbearing.
I highly recommend this novella collection! And it releases today, so grab a copy and settle in for a little vacation to Tinsel, Vermont.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book via the publisher. I was not required to write a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Such a delightful contemporary Christmas novella collection! The four stories take place in Tinsel, Vermont, a Christmas-y vacation safe haven free of paparazzi for the famous and the ordinary. And the stories have royalty visiting the small fairytale-like town to escape life’s pressures. The collection, from beginning to end, will bring a smile to your face; what’s there not to love about this enchanting storybook setting and couples falling in love in a magical wonderland, written by some of my favorite authors? If you enjoy contemporary Christmas romance, you will definitely want to read this one.
All four authors create such deeply layered, multidimensional characters to make each story feel like a full novel instead of a novella. The plots are well-laid out and move at a good pace. The wonderful life and faith lessons the characters learn are spot on and encouraging.
I’m a fan of Melissa Tagg, Betsy St. Amant, and Liz Johnson and their stories are as delicious and heart-melting as I expected and hoped they would be. Ashley Clark is the only author who is new to me; I will surely be looking out for her books in the future after this introduction.
I received a copy of the book via the authors and publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Charmingly captivating! That’s what comes to mind after reading Melissa Tagg’s novella, One Royal Christmas, in the Royally Yours collection. I think we can crown Melissa as the queen of Christmas novellas (Seriously! Check out the Enchanted Christmas Collection). This story captured my heart and transported me to a fabulous small-town setting all while introducing new characters into my heart. After I finished reading this novella, I sighed the happiest of sighs.
These stories were so adorable! My favorites were Melissa Tagg’s and Liz Johnson’s stories. Betsy St Amant’s story I enjoyed almost as much as those two. Ashley Clark’s story was cute but I didn’t enjoy the main characters quite as well.
This review is based on 2 stories.
One Royal Christmas by Melissa Tagg
King Jonah of Concordia needs a vacation from his responsibilities. There is a clause that allows him to step down as king for a period of time and he uses it to regroup. He leaves his country and returns to a small town where he and his family once vacationed. There he meets Rowan, who is the town’s librarian. As Jonah and Rowan spend time together, a deep friendship is formed. When he is called back to Concordia, both of them feel the loss keenly. Jonah and Rowan must face their fear of inadequacy before they can move forward into their future.
This author has woven a sweet, clean Christmas romance with wonderful characters. Even though this is a case of (almost) insta-love, the author has taken great care in creating fully fleshed out characters that a reader can connect with. Well written story.
The Reluctant Princess by Betsy St. Amant
This is the story of Princess Eleanor who comes to Tinsel, Vermont to try to determine her role as a princess and the desire to live a meaningful life. Her attempts to fund some charities near and dear to her heart have consistently been shot down by the queen and her counsel. She decides to take time to reassess her life by vacationing in Tinsel for a few weeks.
Upon her arrival in Tinsel, she is met at the airport by a chauffeured limosine and taken to the B&B where she is staying.
Liam, posing as a chauffeur, has come to Tinsel to distance himself from his own notorious family. He takes a job as a chauffeur from his father’s half-brother and picks up Princess Eleanor. Liam, hoping to remain anonymous, uses the name Miles and immediately sets out to help the princess learn about “real life”. His antics and thoughtfulness soon has Eleanor’s heart thawing. But the road to a happily ever after ending will hit several large potholes before they find love.
This story was delightful and genuinely entertaining. The author introduces us to a wonderful cast of characters and the reader becomes invested in the outcome. Every romance reader expects the HEA ending and this story delivers and exceeds expectations. 5 stars!
Very FUN read.
There were times this collection of fun stories was so hard to put down. I loved the idea of the town of Tinsel, and how the novellas were connected. So many new and fun people to meet. Definitely charming and romantic!
I’ve never heard of a town in Vermont named Tinsel, but it sounds like a really fun place to visit. I think visiting during the weeks before Christmas would be perfect! It seems the town has so much going for it and so many interesting characters.
I enjoyed reading this cute collection of stories based in the town of Tinsel, Vermont. Each book was full of sweet holiday moments and quaint royal personalities. The characters in each story brought fun and sparkle to the pages.
I recommend you pick this book up if you want to add a little royal sparkle to your holidays!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a royal Christmas fix—it’s a collection of sweet royal romances all set in a small town in Vermont called Tinsel (how adorable is that?)
I absolutely loved this collection of four royalty themed novellas! It was fun to get a peek into the lives of four different royals, see what they were struggling with, and watch them find their happily-ever-afters, all in a beautiful Christmas setting.
If you are a fan of movies that feature a royal romance theme, or perhaps enjoyed The Royal Wedding Series by Rachel Hauck, then Royally Yours will most likely be a collection that leaves you with a happy sigh at the end of each story, as it did for me.
It was so fun to read these stories and I felt that each one of the authors did a good job of writing novellas that provided a complete story arc, leaving me happily satisfied at the end of each book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Short yet complete, Royally Yours explores the fact that royals are people too and often struggle with their duties versus what we refer to as reality. Sometimes they need a place to escape to so they can think and regroup. Tinsel, VT is a winter wonderland where no paparazzi are allowed. Enchanting twinkle lights and sparkling snow make the perfect backdrop where wishes are sure to come true for these four royals as they seek to distinguish who they are and what they hope to accomplish in their sovereign rule. Add in sweet romance and you have a treasure trove of delight!
Melissa Tagg and Liz Johnson are familiar to me and I’ve loved any of their books I’ve read. One Royal Christmas and A Royal Wonderland are exceptionally delightful and showcase these two authors’ signature writing punctuated with sigh-worthy moments! Betsy St Amant and Ashley Clark are new-to-me authors whose stories I enjoyed and I look forward to reading more of their works in the future.
I received my e-copy of the book from one of the authors. All opinions in this review are my own.
This is the sweetest collection of Christmas novellas. Set in an adorable town(that I wish was real!) with a fun quirk-no media allowed so celebrities and royalty can have a vacation spot free from media/paparazzi was such a cute premise. ALL of these stories would make great Hallmark Christmas movies. My personal favorite of the collection was Melissa’s. I loved that the town’s library was a major part of the story and all the bookish elements Melissa added. That was so fun and charmed my love of all things bookish heart. The other three stories are also charming and full of romance, humor and all things Christmas. If you like Hallmark movies, all things Royal, or sweet Christmas novellas, then this is the collection for you!
I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
Royally Yours is a delightful collection of Christmas novellas centered around royalty visiting the small Christmasy town of Tinsel, Vermont. Although each of the four novellas has a different author, they are seamlessly intertwined and well-written. Each charming and enchanting story left me captivated and wanting to visit Tinsel. I’ve read stories by each of these authors and always enjoyed them. They write with humor, wit, and creativity. This collection is perfect for those who enjoy sweet clean Christmas novellas.
A great royalty meets small-town romance
My rating is 4.5 stars
Four great authors have combined their talents to create a wonderful, quirky, small town where Christmas wishes come true! Tinsel, Vermont is a haven for those seeking to avoid the media – as it is against the law for paparazzi to invade the privacy of this burg.
I enjoyed the continuity of the portrayal of the town and could even picture the gazebo off the town square. Candy Cane Lane, with the intense displays in the yards, reminded me of a street in the town where I grew up. The idea of an annual decorating contest there was just perfect! And with a prize of bragging rights – well, who could resist that challenge?!
Liz Johnson’s A Royal Wonderland, in which Prince Andrew tries to decorate a house for Christmas with the help of the lovely hardware store owner, Eleanor, was probably my favorite story in the set but there was stiff competition between the others. After all, it is hard to resist a king who is an avid reader and wears a flannel shirt as in Melissa Tagg’s One Royal Christmas. The Reluctant Princess by Betsy St. Amant was a lot of fun with the princess and her chauffeur who has a surprising secret. And A Tinsel Holiday by Ashley Clark was a delightful “what if” ending to a story similar to one of my favorite movies Roman Holiday.
If you enjoy sweet romantic Christmassy stories, be sure to pick up a copy of Royally Yours!

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Such a delightful collection of short Christmas stories, all set in a town called Tinsel in Vermont. The kind of dreamy winter wonderland town you can easily imagine, where the people love the festivities and go all out to celebrate the season. This town is unique in which they have created a safe haven for the rich and famous, and so we have the perfect location for 4 vacationing royals, to escape from the public eye and the weight of responsibilities.
Each of these stories, though set in this town are uniquely different, that I felt like each had things I loved about them. It was almost like watching mini Hallmark movies, and I felt like each author wrote a compelling plot line.
This time of year if you’re looking for a Christmas themed Contemporary collection, this would be the perfect choice!!
I received a complimentary ebook copy. This is my honest review.
The “cover blurb” says: Tinsel, Vermont is known for its no-paparazzi policy and Christmas decorations that are fit for a queen. This holiday season, join four royals on a stroll through town square as they each find their Christmas wishes for a happily-ever-after…tiaras optional.
Tinsel. A Christmas-centric little town in Vermont. The town really does it up during the Christmas season… and some residents, like the mayor, even live Christmas all year long. I love the reason for Christmas, but I’m not a big shindig-for-holidays person. I love to be invited to share with my friends, but I rarely entertain. As your basic introvert, I generally leave the party early. That’s just me. But this book made me feel like I was invited to the party. And I loved it. And, I wanted to stay. Forever.
Because of the media blockade, celebrities and royals are safe in Tinsel. The four novellas in this collection feature contemporary princes and princesses, with all their power and status, seeking that safety. That anonymity. Royals who also have uncertainties and fears just like the regular folks in Tinsel… or your town, or mine. That they fell in love, their lives and families were enriched and their problems were resolved because they visited Tinsel, in some ways gives me hope that the same can happen in my town. Maybe.
I have read books by Liz Johnson before (well everything she’s written, okay) and Melissa Tagg (many, but not all, of hers), but the other two authors were new to me. I’ll be looking into their other books too. My only reasons for not giving this collection 5-stars are 1) continuity – same town, some of the same people, but there were unexplained discrepancies (I know I’m a little OCD, but…) and 2) the faith element that I am accustomed to in Liz and Melissa’s books wasn’t as strong in these or the other two novellas. Don’t get me wrong… these were all good reads and I would recommend them to others to read. They will touch your heart. I believe you will enjoy them. I did.
I received a reader-review e-copy from one of the authors in exchange for an honest review. This is my honest review.
This is a delightful collection of stories. Each story was unique, and I enjoyed them all. This is a great read to get you in the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend it.
Four Christmas stories set in Tinsel, Vermont where the media is not allowed and involving royalty! One Royal Christmas by Melissa Tagg: Jonah is a king of a small county who takes a temporary abdication and comes to Tinsel where he spent the happiest week of his childhood. You will admire Rowan as she attempts to preserve her grandma’s library legacy even though the aged house needs many repairs. Jonah has good memories of her grandma and library. Imagine taking a king to the family’s Sunday dinner!
The Reluctant Princess by Betsy St. Amant: Princess Eleanor comes to Tinsel and realizes she has never done anything on her own before! I like Eleanor’s determination! Her American driver, Miles, is really the son of a not so nice celebrity but has turned his life around and is staying away from his father. Miles attempts to recreate memories Eleanor has of happy times with her dad.
A Royal Wonderland by Liz Johnson: Charlotte “Charlie” Hudson runs the family hardware store but misses the things she did with her grandma who has moved to assisted living. Prince Andrew Tennesley visits his friend in Tinsley and ends up promising to decorate the house on Candy Cane Lane for the holiday contest! Decorations magically appeared at the castle so Andrew has never even hung lights before. Charlie takes pity and helps Andrew out!
A Tinsel Holiday by Ashley Clark: Beatrix has always lived the part of princess and done as she was told except for one day two years ago. Tyler James was an American journalist who met Beatrix on that one day! He now owns an inn in Tinsel and is shocked when the princess shows up at the inn! Tyler loves Beatrix but she appears to be involved with another man. Is marriage possible?
You will enjoy these stories of royalty and Christmas in Tinsel! I recommend Royally Yours! I received a complimentary e-book through Melissa Tagg. This is my honest opinion.
This is such an absolutely fabulous and utterly charming Christmas novella collection, I wish I could give it more than five stars! In addition to being written by some of my favorite authors Royally Yours combines three of my favorite things, royalty, Christmas, and my home state of Vermont in one delightfully gift wrapped and tinsel adorned package! These stories gave me warm fuzzies all the way to my toes! Reading this collection feels like a Hallmark Christmas movie marathon in book form (which is even better, in my opinion!)
Melissa Tagg’s One Royal Christmas is my favorite of the collection, but I absolutely loved all of the others as well!
Royally Yours is an amazing collection, I loved every single word, and it will definitely be on my list of favorite reads of 2019!
I highly recommend this collection, it’s a must read that is not to be missed! So gift yourself a copy, curl up under your favorite cozy blanket with your hot beverage of choice and dive in ASAP, you will not be sorry!
I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
One Royal Christmas by Melissa Tagg – Melissa Tagg has perfected the art of writing a book that can include the perfect blend of romance, charm, and character development—all within a short novella! She pens a wonderfully romantic story set in a snowy, quaint town that makes you want to cuddle up with a blanket and cup of tea on a cold day. This novella transports you to the small town with ease, the descriptions flowing off the page and pulling you into the story. The characters both deal with conflict and grow throughout the story in a satisfying way. Their romance is adorably sweet and realistic. There is something about reading about a prince during a snowy day that makes him that much more dreamy! I loved the characters and their struggles and found myself sheading a tear or two as they overcome difficulties in their lives. I really enjoyed this story and am a dedicated reader of Melissa’s stories for life!
The Reluctant Princess by Betsy St. Amant – This was my first time reading anything by Betsy St. Amant, and I am now a fan of her writing! I really enjoyed the spunky characters and their friendship and then relationship as it developed throughout the story. There is realistic conflict that adds depth to the story. The secondary characters were cute and fun and I really liked the snowy, small town setting. This is a great novella for the Christmas season and fits in well with the rest of the collection in this book!
A Royal Wonderland by Liz Johnson – Liz Johnson has the wonderful ability to write a story that reads with ease, and this novella definitely fit that description! The storyline is creative, the characters captivating, and the setting a perfect snowy town. I liked the romance of the characters and the complications of past friendships. This story definitely was a perfect addition to the novella collection!
A Tinsel Holiday by Ashley Clark – Ashley Clark was another new-to-me author and I really enjoyed her novella! Mix together a princess, some much needed character growth, and the unlikely romance and you have a wonderful Christmas novella. I liked the complexity of the romance, as it was not altogether predictable. It was a great read!
Overall, I enjoyed these stories and highly recommend this novella collection!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
This review is for Melissa Tagg’s story, One Royal Christmas. I will add my review for each story as I read them. I was never a huge fan of novellas. I always felt like the story was too rushed and I always wanted more! But then, I read a Melissa Tagg novella – Three Little Words- and it changed my thoughts completely! Certain authors can make a novella just as satisfying as a full length story, and Melissa is one of those authors.
I really enjoyed the first meeting between Jonah and Rowan. It was both original and funny. I mean it involved a library full of books and a guy with an accent! What’s not to love? The banter between Rowan and Jonah and the whole thing he did with the books – can’t say what, spoilers! – were my favorite parts of the story. And the town of Tinsel? At Christmastime? Can I just move there right now? What a quaint little town.
One Royal Christmas is the first story in the Royally Yours compilation. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the stories by Betsy St. Amant, Liz Johnson, and Ashley Clark soon!
