Raw emotions, true connections, fragile future plans, turmoil in the soul from the past, and growing faith and trust in God’s guidance… All the feels hit home in this heartfelt story of reunited teenage sweethearts who have faced more hardship than most in their lifetimes.
A secret baby is not my favorite type of tale yet here it is done in a delicate, different way with a twist that I came to respect the decisions as the story unfolded.
I admired the maturity of Addie Ricci and Evan Hawke, as they are reunited and working together to fix the B&B. Evan’s relationship with Addie’s little boy was adorable, that cute little kid stealing my heart as well.
There is so much both Addie and Evan have had to deal with. The struggles are real, the pain at times palpable, the growth and development of their hearts, minds, faith, and souls is a beautiful journey to be witnessing. The way the author has imbedded the faith the protagonists have in God is done in a natural, lifelike matter, it was easy to relate to.
It is only after everything else from the past is resolved that Addie and Evan can have a chance for a future together, and the heartache of the road to peace of mind and joy of the soul brought tears to my eyes.
An adorable, deeply-felt tale of love, life, faith, and family
~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
I am a sucker for second chances, and Jill Lynn did an incredible job of bringing Addie and Evan’s story to life. Evan and Addie are high school sweethearts that had to part not too long after high school ends, and end up reconnecting when they both find themselves back in their hometown.
It’s been ten years since they’ve seen each other and though their connection is immediate, and still electric as ever, Addie has brought home with her a secret that she knows she must tell Evan, but doesn’t know how. Evan agrees to help her with a major project and it is this truth that puts her in bondage, keeps her at arms length from Evan, and gives an air of mystery and apprehension to the novel. You know she’s going to tell Evan eventually but, just like Addie, you don’t know when or where it’s going to happen, or how Evan is going to take this life-altering news. It’s hard not to get hooked on the drama and mystery, and I was engaged until the very end.
I loved the playful banter between Evan and Addie, but little Sawyer stole the show, and my heart. He is the perfectly adorable relief amid the adult drama that swarms around him, and I caught myself smiling at several scenes that included him, especially when Belay was with him.
The light and breezy flow of Her Hidden Hope is refreshing, giving the lighthearted hope of love, forgiveness, second chances, and happy endings mixed with the apprehension that comes with untold secrets.
Though this is apart of the Colorado Grooms series, the author does a masterful job of keeping the reader up to speed, so you never feel lost. It is well written with such heart, and was a great quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own.
This story has themes of repentance, forgiveness, and redemption. Addie and Evan were a couple in their teenage years, but life took them down completely different roads. As they unexpectedly meet again, they find that they still have feelings for each other. Both had experienced deep hurt from others in the intervening years. As they work together to restore Addie’s B & B, they find they have to reconcile their past before they can move forward. But Addie holds a secret that she needs to share with Evan that could have a major impact on their future together.
I liked the characters in this book. It was easy to emphasize with both Addie and Evan and their struggle to overcome the past and the way others had wronged them. Addie’s little boy, Sawyer, added some extra cuteness and sweetness to the story. All in all, this is an enjoyable clean and sweet romance that has a nice thread of faith throughout the story.

What a pleasant way to spend a day reading! This is a short, quick read about two people who went different ways with their lives and are now back in their hometown at the same time. Evan Hawke is repairing his mom’s house so that he and his brother can sell it. Addie is renovating her Tito and Tita’a old B&B so that she can establish a future for herself and her small son Sawyer. With a tight budget and not much know how about fixing things, it is a natural progression for her old boyfriend Evan to offer to help Addie get her place ready for the big grand re-opening. The response of Sawyer to Evan was immediate and endearing. Of course, there is no mystery here about what should happen between the two. The difficulty lies in the terrible secret that Addie is keeping hidden from Evan, a problem so soul-wrenching that it may tear the two apart again before they can really get together. I loved the interaction between Evan and Sawyer and how natural it was. I also enjoyed Sawyer’s precocious antics as he squirmed his way into Evan’s heart and played with Evan’s dog Belay as if they were best friends. The whole story was just a feel-good story, with a definite conflict that had to be resolved. With a theme of forgiveness and redemption, it is the perfect tale to read to offer feelings of hope and joy. Fans of light romance with a Christian perspective will definitely enjoy this book!

Her Hidden Hope is my first experience with Jill Lynn, but it won’t be my last. This is the fourth book in the Colorado Grooms series, but as a newbie to the series and the author, I didn’t have any problem following the storyline, and as far as I can tell, this one is a standalone. The book is well-written with a steady pace, the characters are developed and likable, and the story is full of emotion. The feels run the gamut with this couple, and I really like how the author brings it all together for an inspirational, hopeful conclusion. Any time I can find characters that feel this real and a story I can get lost in, I’m all for it, and this is one of those stories from start to finish.
I really enjoyed escaping into this story each evening! These characters quickly warmed my heart and I enjoyed getting to know them. I felt like I experienced the events right along side Addie and Evan. From the sweet rediscovery of a tender love story that began when Addie and Evan were teenagers and now as adults with more history and a perspective the love that grows is even deeper and more meaningful.
There are moments that gripped my heart and had me reaching for the tissues. But there were even more moments that had me smiling in contentment and laughing out loud at the fun antics of Sawyer & Belay.
When I started the book, I didn’t realize that this is the fourth book in the series. However, even without first reading the other books, I didn’t once feel lost. I do however want to go back and read the other stories from characters that I met in this story! I recommend this story and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Although Her Hidden Hope is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone novel if you haven’t read the other stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which was packed with both sweet and heart wrenching moments.
I felt sorry for both Evan and Addie. Evan had overcome so much and then was crushed emotionally at one point in the story. Addie was a character who I felt had been backed into a corner years earlier and carried so many regrets and a lot of guilt.
I enjoyed watching Evan with Addie’s son, Sawyer. I also liked the way Addie and Evan’s relationship developed throughout the book. The author did a good job of creating a painful situation that these two had to get past, while also writing a beautiful ending to this story.

Some of the best gifts come in small packages and Ms. Lynn has accomplished that. This quick read carries a powerful punch with an inspirational message that captures your heart. Who can resists an adorable little boy that is a ball of energy and a faithful dog. This book deals with past choices that have to be dealt with in the present and will have you shedding a few tears. This is a book in a series but I read it as a stand-alone just fine. I definitely will be reading more by this author as she has a way of packing depth in a quick read that holds your attention. I’m thankful I was blessed to win a copy of this book. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
Her Hidden Hope by Jill Lynn is an uplifting story of second chances, redemption, and forgiveness. Set in Colorado and filled with well-crafted, realistically-flawed characters, it drew me in and kept me turning the pages. Ethan Hawke was a fantastic hero—compassionate, courageous, and kind. I liked Addie’s independence and determination to provide for her son. Sawyer was a joy to meet, as was Belay, Ethan’s dog. They added much to the enjoyment of the story.
Elements of hope, faith, and forgiveness of self and others are woven throughout the story and add depth and dimension. Although this is the fourth book in Jill Lynn’s Colorado Grooms series, it can definitely be read as a standalone book. I’m definitely looking forward to more of her stories.

When I read Jill Lynn’s books, I cannot let them down and I have to finish then as soon as possible because I want to reach the end, where I can see the whole picture. This one was the same.
Addie still loves Evan, even after so many years. But she is also a single mother, who has to take care of her son, Sawyer. But now Evan is back in her life, and it seems that he loves her son.
Despite everything, she chooses to tell Evan the truth, even if she can lose him one more time. She also learns to trust God, and she talks to him every time she needs it.
He is back and she is also there. And he realises that he fell for her again. But after she tells him the secret she kept away from him so many years, he runs.
Is it maybe possible for him to forgive her, and stay together? Is love bigger than anger?
It is a book worth reading.
Her Hidden Hope ( Colorado Grooms #4 )
Her Hidden Hope is book four in the series Colorado Grooms. This is a Love Inspired Inspirational Romance. The author did it again, I was not disappointed. I was grabbed at the start and did not want to put it down. In love the story and the characters, both were well written. This is Addie and Evan’s story. Both know each other in the past. Both are back home. one of them is keeping a secret. what will happen if the other one finds out the secret?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Another winner from Jill Lynn.
I have to say, little Sawyer and Belay (the dog) were adorable and almost stole the show, in a good way.
Evan Hawke and Addie Ricci have to overcome so much and Jill Lynn had me wanting to sit them down and give them a counseling session and call my prayer sisters in on their behalf. This story really helps us, as the reader, to see grace and forgiveness at work.
Readers will go on an emotional rollercoaster ride alongside this pair.
I was cheering these characters on right to the very satisfying end.
I received an advanced reader e-copy of this book from the publisher. My opinions are my own.
This is the 4th book in the Colorado Grooms Series. The story takes place in Westbend, Colorado. This story hooked me at the beginning with this saying, “The school bus of life had driven up, swung open the door and dumped her out on her rear end”. I loved the characters Addie and Evan. Both dealing with the past issues that tore them apart as young adults. I laughed, I cried, and thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest Jill Lynn book.
An outstanding story that kept me glued to the pages. The characters are wonderful and I immediately feel in love with them. Forgiveness, redemption and love made this story so beautiful and warmed my heart. The author does an amazing job of weaving a story that captures the readers heart. What an amazing journey!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
A beautiful love story of second chances and redemption and forgiveness. I love that Addie and Evan are flawed characters—aren’t we all? But once again, Jill reminds us that God meets us right where we are and loves us still.
Her Hidden Hope is a perfect example of why Jill Lynn is the author that got me back into reading LoveInspired romance. This story is deep and layered and shows how much we all need to forgive and be forgiven.
Evan and Addie had a lot to work through in this story. At one point, I was totally on Evan’s side about how he felt when Addie dropped her bombshell, and I was wondering just how they were ever going to work things out. I just could not understand her logic. Then I was reminded of God’s grace and mercy and how we are supposed to show others that same forgiveness. I loved Sawyer and the humor he brought into this story and his relationship with Evan.
I’m so glad Ms. Lynn decided to write Evan’s story. It is a great ending to this wonderful series.
You’ll enjoy this story of Addie who has returned to Colorado with her young son and is is working to update and open her aunt and uncle’s old bed and breakfast! Addie has invested all of her money in the purchase and has no money left to hire the work done! Addie is surprised when her teenage love, Evan returns to his hometown and volunteers to help her. Addie and Evan have to work to overcome secrets and circumstances from the past. I recommend this contemporary story to others. I received an advance e-book from the publisher. This is my honest opinion.
‘Addie would have to move to a different country in order to outrun the black marks on her soul.’
Jill Lynn brings us the fourth book in her Colorado Grooms series with this book and gives us the story of Addie Ricci and Evan Hawke.
Evan Hawke returns to the Colorado town where his late mother lived to get her house ready to sell. He is completely knocked for a loop when he sees Addie Ricci, with whom he shared a lot one year in their teens. Addie is grown up now, divorced and with a two year old son. But she is holding onto a desperate secret. Does she still trust Evan enough to reveal this secret? Even if it costs her everything? And can Evan bear it even if she does?
Jill Lynn explores what happens when the truth is withheld and the forgiveness God can bring when a heart is determined to trust Him with the outcome. Such a sweet story that will move your heart. Plus there is a cute kid involved! And a dog! Recommended.
*My thanks to the author and publisher for a copy of this book. The opinion in this review is entirely my own.
Her Hidden Hope by Jill Lynn has wonderful characters that kept drawing me back to the story. Jill’s characters are flawed in a way that makes them so relate-able, believable, and lovable. Addi Ricci, our heroine, is likable and shares her heart through her flaws. Evan Hawke, our hero, has not been dealt an easy life, but he continues to press into the Lord and has made the best of his situations. He is a hero you want to stand next to, especially since he does not see himself as a hero.
Jill Lynn has wonderful dialogue and scenes that I still am playing out in my head. The story centers around redemption and forgiveness. Being willing to change what you are thinking about a situation and see things with God’s eyes. Her Hidden Hope is a great story that I highly recommend.
