Ann Omasta is on a roll with this second chance romance about single mom, Meg, on a field trip with her six year old daughter, Harper, when the bus is in a horrific accident. Levi, the bus driver, is Meg’s former boyfriend and this story just pulses with energy.

The third book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series a well written short story that kept me turning pages. This is Levi Ryan who left his hometown to pursue his dreams as a country singer in Nashville now he is back. Meg Stark was his girlfriend but he left her behind with a secret he does not know about. What happens when he finds out that Harper the little girl fighting for her life is his daughter. I enjoyed reading this story and I want to read the next book. Excitement and dread as a school outing changes lives
4-4.5stars
This latest in Omasta’s series about the residents of a small New England town started with a kick and, though the pace slowed after some initial action, it had no trouble keeping my interest through the HEA ending. The heroine’s long-term secret was obvious to me but the lightbulb moment for Levi, her former love, took a good while to hit and needed an awkwardly timed revelation as he seemed clueless! My favorite character– Levi, for sure, as he puts up with a lot, including a bunch of the heroine’s family, friends and even the local police, who heap blame on him. He weathers all the barbs and accusations like a real trooper. This is a quick, easy to read mild heat romance with plenty of drama. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next in the series.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Ann Omasta has brought us another emotional book. A school bus wreck, a child in a coma, two births and a well kept secret all combine into one very good story. The characters and story line are well developed. Some secrets have been kept too long. This is a good book but you might want to have a tissue handy if you tend to get emotional.
The Brunswick Bay Harbor Gem Series has struck Gold again!
The Family Saga Continues, this is Meg’s Journey…
A parent’s worst nightmare is unfolding right in front of Meg Stark’s eyes.
Meg is one of the chaperons on her daughter Harper’s School Bus trip. Her niece Hannah was also one of the children on the bus, making this day some what of a family adventure. Hannah and her family had been through hell and back in the last year. Meg was proud of Hannah. The little girl had bounced back from such adversity; it was heart warming to see her happy once again.
All at once something runs out from the woods they’re passing and blocks the path of the bus.
The bus driver desperately tries to avoid wrecking, but to no avail.
Total confusion and panic consumes everyone when the bus starts skidding and quickly slides off the edge of the road and overturns.
Once the adults regain control of the situation, they realize that one of the children is missing. Meg’s heart hit rock bottom when she realizes that the missing child is her niece Hannah.
Shimmering Emeralds is the third book in this wildly popular series. This story is emotionally charged and pulls at your heart-strings; leaving you feeling empty at times from the pain and heartache being endured, especially as the guarded secrets of Meg’s past are reveled .
As always, in any Ann Omasta book, the reader is left yearning for more. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.

Fantastic job Ann, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This is the third book in the series and they really should be read in order. I went into this book not really caring much for Meg and was really surprised about how much my opinion changed of her as the book went on. This was a great read and I would definitely recommend it I was pretty much hooked right from the start.
Another great book to the series brings a second chance romance with strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line. The author does a great job developing the story and bringing it to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She brings drama, fear, anxiety and love of family. I loved the banter and enjoyed reading their story. I would recommend this book.

I enjoyed the third book in this series. This is a great book, a real page turner. This book focused on Meg, Claire’s sister, who is mentioned vaguely in the previous books. I enjoyed reading about Meg and her daughter Harper. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
There’s never a dull moment in Brunswick Bay Harbour as Clare has her baby, Hanah temporarily disappears, Harper is injured in a school bus crash and Meg confronts her past in the third installment of the small town drama by Ann Omasta.
I love these stories of an ordinary family caught in a series of not at all ordinary circumstances. Clare’s sister Meg is a strong, independent single mom who’s found herself in the worst situation a mother can, with her young daughter in a coma after a bus accident. Meanwhile, the man she let go is back in her life.
Another great story in a great small town romance series.
This outstanding read had a well written storyline and characters that were written with such great detail and depth that I was totally engaged as I turned each and every page until the very end!
She’s a single mom who told the father the love of her life to go on and fulfill his dreams. When he got word of Meg’s pregnancy, she told him that she got pregnant by a tourist causing Levi great pain. Everything is about too come full circle because Levi was driving the bus that had an accident injuring her child. When Levi learns the full truth of Harper’s birth, lives will be changed but the betrayal and deception will burn deeply. Can he forgive Meg and forge a happily ever after to have the family Harper deserves?

I have read every book since the first book in the series, and have loved each one of them. In the first two books I didnt really care for Meg, and still in this book she has her moments but slowly she is being redeemed by the author. I love second chance romances, and especially when they have a HEA. I would certainly recommend this book to others.
Three and a half stars. This is the third book in this series about the town of Brunswick Bay. The characters are all very real with lots of faults. The theme I am getting from all of this is about forgiveness. It will be interesting if the next story keeps that theme. This is the story of Meg and Levi. Lots of sexual tension but no “hot” sex scenes. Meg has been the least likeable character, but as we find out more about her, we come to understand who she is. I did get tired of her saying and thinking “I did what I thought was best.” Except for that I would have really enjoyed this book more.

Even though Levi left town to pursue a singing career he was not happy without Meg, his first and only love. Leaving a promising career behind he came back to his hometown. Fate brought them together when the bus Levi was driving form the school was in an accident and Meg’s daughter was injured, leaving her in a coma. Levi refused to leave Meg’s side and she let him stay, even though she knew he would eventually go back to his career. Or will he? This is a sweet love story about two people rediscovering their love as well as secrets kept from one another and then power of forgiveness.

I had a tough time with this book. I adored the ending but getting there felt a bit like an uphill battle at times. The continuity issues in this book drove me mental. Firstly, ICU doesn’t operate like just another room in the hospital and it frustrated the living daylights out of me that this was the way it was portrayed here. Add to that, the multitude of patient confidentiality violations shown in this story and I was practically frothing at the mouth. I also had problems getting past all of Meg’s judgmental and hypocritical attitudes. I couldn’t understand why it was fine for her to behave like a raving harpy, but then she’d get mad at anyone else who did the same. Levi and Harper were just about perfect to me. Levi’s so sweet and stoic. He handles everyone’s venom and blame with an equanimity I can only admire. And Harper’s the same precious little imp I’d already come to love in the previous books, she just takes center stage in this one. Now that I’ve started to get to know Dani, I’m intrigued to see what the author has in store for her.
