She went against their rules. And now she must be punished.Ophelia Lopez is the most recent scholarship recipient to be admitted to Weis-Jameson Preparatory Academy. A nationally ranked top-fifty 300-meter hurdler, she suspects her recent invitation to WJ Prep has a lot to do with the Academy’s Nike-sponsored Invitational next May.She couldn’t be more wrong. When she steps through the doors of WJ … wrong.
When she steps through the doors of WJ Prep, she lands on the wrong side of the Elites who rule the school.
They’ve brought her here to play, ruin, and hurt.
There is a code to follow and a strict order when it comes to engaging with the Elites. They seem intent on ruining the only chance Ophelia has to escape from this hellhole: a college running scholarship. But she refuses to yield to their intimidation, sexual assault, blackmail, and grade tampering.
They’ve messed with the wrong girl.
If she can get the Elites to trust her, to believe they’ve beaten her into submission, she will bring them down from the inside.
Except that the Elite she’s chosen—her worst tormenter, the one she needs to convince the most—isn’t buying her pretty, submissive act. What’s more, their chemistry has been undeniable from the start.
Problem is that, in between moments of severe cruelty and anger, Ophelia glimpses a boy caught in a game, just like her.
What happens when players get played? Hearts get broken, secrets get revealed, and no one is who they say they are.
WARNING: Reckless Rules is DARK and TWISTED and has extreme bullying. Recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. It’s a full-length novel, 90k words, and it’s book one in a planned trilogy.
BROKEN RULES releases in November 2019more
This book is like wow way Dark and also a bully romance but the elites holds secrets but when miss nobody comes to town on a scholarship could she ruin the elites? The chemistry between Ophelia & Emmett even tho they fight it is extremely hot! This book you really should read it’s hands down a roller coaster ride!
Holy freaking smokes!!! What a journey this book took me. It had me wanting to throw my phone a few times. But it was all worth it. I love all the twist and turns. Rebel hart has done it agin with another amazing book. So can’t wait for book 2
Reckless Rules was a complicated novel for me to finish reading. Admittedly, the excessive amount of drama kept me swiping to the very end.
Unfortunately, I could not connect to the characters. Emmett’s character is too harsh for my enjoyment, and I was unable to enjoy his character.
Although I hadn’t enjoyed certain aspects of the novel, the cliffhanger left me with a book hangover. I actually growled out-loud in frustration, resenting the fact that I have to wait for more. 🙂
I’d recommend reading Reckless Rules to all those who enjoy reading the bully trope. The drama is at an all-time high. Even though I wanted to give up several times, I couldn’t. I had to see this novel through to the end, and will continue reading the next book in the series. I’m hoping Emmett’s character will soften a little in future books so I can appreciate his character and feel more chemistry instead of resentment toward him.
A scholarship to Weis-Jameson Preparatory Academy and she’s reunited with the boy who’s lips she kissed in a moment of weakness.
He looks the same, but he acts like a whole different person.
She’s right where he wants her, the plan is all systems go, but there’s just something about her…
Rebel is taking a walk on the dark side with this series and I was super excited about this from the moment I heard about it.
Buuuuut it didnt hit all the sweet spots for me personally.
I didnt connect with Ophelia like I had hoped. I tried my best to love her character but it’s not something you can force.
Emmett is both the tormentor and the tortured at the same time. You feel it in his actions. I didnt love him, yet I didnt hate him either.
Two intense characters, stuck in an extreme situation. No escape no freedom to run towards.
There were a few paragraphs I had to read several times before they made sence to both me and the storyline, but overall a good solid start to a new series.
Hopefully my love of the characters will come about in the second book of the series!
Four stars from me!
Another amazing and really great new series by this author. I was hooked from page one of Ophelia and Emmetts story and couldnt put down until the end and now need more. They had this intense chemistry even though he tries to ruin her but she won’t give up so easily. Can not wait for the next book with these two.
This was supposed to be Rebel’s Hart debut novel, but do to circumstances beyond her control this book had to be put on hold as she came out with Play With Me.
Let me tell you that this was soooo worth the wait for her to get it just right, and make it everything she wants it to be. Rebel’s writing in this book brings the reader right into the story from the beginning. You want Ophelia to end up on top, and come out the winner. Her road is long and rough. She is constantly questioning herself when dealing with her feelings for Emmett. She knows he is the bad guy, but why does he feel so good? The chemistry that is woven between Ophelia and Emmett is electric and I could totally understand when she would cave to her baser desires. While I wanted to smack her upside the head sometimes I could understand why Ophelia made her choice. Rebel definitely has the heart of a teenager as she writes her books. She brings the angst, heartache, confusion, and feelings to every one of her books.
This book moves fast, and I was definitely left wanting more. I can’t wait to see what book two brings as Emmett and Ophelia deal with the aftermath of the decisions made by their family’s.
I received an advanced copy of this book for my voluntary review.
What a book this was the ride that way taken on between Emmett and Ophelia is one hell of a crazy ride! Ophelia is the MC who is a track star and ends up getting a scholarship to a new school for her senior year. I felt her character grow and become more stronger throughout the book. And Emmett the hot baf boy that turns her world upside down along with other kids in the school. This is a darker read but I loved it all the same and Rebel did an amazing job with the whole book. The twisted thing Ophelia deals with on a daily basis is unbelievable improves how strong she gets and grows. Secrets that come out in this book are ones that could mean life or death. This is definitely a story you don’t want to miss!
Captivating, and Intense!
This is the first book in The Elites of Weis-Jameson Prep Academy, and the story of Emmet, and Ophelia. Ophelia, received a scholarship to the Elite Weis-Jameson Academy. What she thinks is going to be an opportunity, she quickly realizes could be a big mistake. The Elite’s, the ones that rule the halls, and that make the rules, have her in their sites, and they plan on bringing he down. Can Ophelia survive her bullies, or will she submit to her tormentors? This was a great read, the characters are well written, and have great chemistry, this book is intense, twisted, suspenseful, emotional, dramatic, and steamy. This is a must read!!
Reckless Rules is the first book in Rebel Hart’s first dark bully romance series. Ophelia is a competitive runner who gets a scholarship to a preppy elitist school. What she soon realizes is that there is a hierarchy that controls not only the school but the town… and The Elites are at the top. The Elites are a group of 5 kids from the founding families. Emmett Jameson is their leader and while he is supposed to be breaking Ophelia, he can’t help but develop feelings for her along the way. There are secrets and lies all around and while Ophelia wants to just focus on running and get a college scholarship, she also wants to know why The Elites seem to have a fascination with her.
This book has you questioning exactly what is going on (in a good way!) for the majority of the time. I was sucked in by the angst and finished it in one sitting. This book had some darker bullying such as physical abuse, suggested sexual abuse, kidnapping, etc. but was written in a way that made you still want her to be with Emmett in the end. While these can be triggers for some people, I think Rebel did a good job making them part of the story without going overboard. And with everything that Ophelia is put through, you can tell that she is trying to be strong in their new world but sometimes it’s too much for her to take.
Without going into spoilers, there were some parts of the book that bothered me or that I thought didn’t exactly flow right with the story but overall I liked the book and will definitely read the next one to see where this story goes
What the heck did I just read? Omg! Rebel Hart has taken me on a wild, roller coaster ride of suspense and tension and heat and so many secrets my brain was spinning to keep up. Who’s the good guy? Who’s the bad guy? I loved every word of this book! The characters were so well developed. I hated some and loved others. And others had me so twisted up I didn’t know whether to love or hate them. Ophelia is caught up in a web of secrets and lies and there seems to be no way out. The plot was unique and fast paced and I COULD NOT STOP READING! I can’t believe the cliffhanger at the end of this book. I need more NOW!
Intense and dark just the way I like it. Loved the storyline, I wish Ophelia fought back a little more but that’s just personal preference in female leads, I love a feisty fighter 😉 but I love rebels mind! Such creativity and I love every minute of it. Always keeps me coming back for more ! Can’t wait for what’s in store in book 2!
Rebel hart blew me away with this book.
This is my second book I’ve read by this author and it wont be my last.
I was hooked from the start. I couldnt put it down.
Rebel keeps you at the edge of your seat. It’s a dark and gritty journey that you go on.
Ophelia gets a scholarship to wj prep academy.
It is run by the elites. I didn’t like the elites I wanted to throttle them.
Her first day/week didn’t go so great they were bullying her.
Bennett is the leader of the elites and set his sight on ophelia.
He was a major a*sehole and I wanted to slap him for all the crap he did to her.
They were attracted to each other. What she went through was hard to read at time because I was yelling at my kindle.
This book was fantastic I loved every minute of the ride I was on.
Thanks rebel for this great book.
I highly recommend this book
