Elizabeth continues her transformation into Damon’s lifestyle, growing and embracing her desires while still hoping for something more than an arrangement.Damon comes face-to-face with emotions he has buried for years, believing the only way he can survive is to maintain control.A series of incidents finds them both beginning to deal with their emotions as they look for a middle ground. After … middle ground. After casting Elizabeth aside, Damon realizes he may lose her and goes after her to bring her home. Pleasure is there for both, but the pain is emotional, with Damon trying to let go of some of the beliefs he has lived by, and Elizabeth believing everything will be all right, that she is happy for now, and that she and Damon will live together happily ever after.
But is that really how it will turn out?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy contemporary romance contains elements of power exchange.

Elizabeth’s and Damon’s D/s relationship continues to grow in this second book in the series. There are some twists and turns and life doesn’t go exactly as either of them expects it to. This is a brilliant series and I’m really enjoying it. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series as this one ends in a cliffhanger.

Both are getting more comfortable in the arrangement
For Pleasure and Pain is Book Two in the Choices Trilogy series by Zoe Asher. This book picks up with Elizabeth and Damon getting deeper into the D/s life. He is molding her into his perfect submissive which he actually views as being dispensable and easily replaceable. Elizabeth is blossoming under Damon’s training. Additionally her gallery in NYC is doing really well with new artist exhibits and getting ready for a large show in the spring.
The thing that is a bit heartbreaking is that Damon has made it clear that he will not fall for Elizabeth and she still goes along with this in hopes that maybe he will change. When they go to LA and his sister surprises him Damon barely acknowledges that she means anything to him or even close to him in any way. I really felt for Elizabeth at that point.
The story ends with a cliffhanger so we will have to wait to see what happens between Damon and Elizabeth.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is the second book in the “For Pleasure and Pain” series by Zoe Asher. The more I read this book, the more I questioned whether or not I really even liked Damon. He’s definitely a force to be reckoned with, and that’s putting it mildly. Except, he has his moments. Moments, fleeting as they are, where he catches himself having a heart and feelings. That brings me to Elizabeth. She’s like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. She knows the rules to this game and yet she still holds out hope for something she’s been told she’ll never have. There are twists and turns, events that come out of the blue all with Zoe Asher leading me into a false sense of security with this storyline and then BAM!!! We take a turn and get a HUGE surprise and one hell of a cliffhanger. Now I know I can’t wait until the next book.
This is book two of the Choices Trilogy. We continue with Elizabeth’s and Damon’s relationship. Elizabeth gets more comfortable with her choice to become Damon’s submissive. Damon is enjoying having Elizabeth in his life, compromising on some of the things he thought he required. But, then something monumental happens and everything is left up in the air. There is a HFN ending. You do need to read book one to understand what is going on and you will definitely want to read book 3!
