Talk about cliff hanger!!! What an intense emotional ride! For a debut novel this story was told so amazingly that as I was reading I could picture the scenes playing out in my mind. I became invested in the love between Petra and her Godfather Alex. Though unconventional true love doesn’t care about age or who you are to the person. Beautifully told and heart warming.
From a young age Petra has always had a strong love for Alex, her Godfather, fathers Bestfriend, and his business partner. Alex feelings for her were innocent until he sees her again and it becomes more. But not everyone wants them together and sometimes it’s better to live without eachother so safe the lives of others.
So we have a fresh new one, love how the book was written and how it evolved. Amazing characters an the plot intrigued me from chapter one, definitely an interesting book that will have you mesmerized throughout and a must read.
Age-gap, forbidden romance, throw in a lil BDSM, I’ll take it!!
Petra, full of anxiety, has a best friend who is the complete opposite. She goes out one night with her BFF and her life is forever changed. Not wanting her father to know what happened, she contacts her godfather, who just recently returned.
Alex, the heartbreaker, after being gone for a long time returns to his best friend, Petra’s father. About to indulge in his life behind closed doors, is stopped by a call from his goddaughter, a call that changes everything.
Written well as a debut novel, Blossoms in Winters, has triggers and may not be for all readers.
I’m interested enough to continue the series.
Let the book hangover begin. I just finished Blossom in Winter Hands down the best book I’ve read all year probably the best book I’ve read in the last 2-3 years. Quite possibly the best book I’ve ever read. It touches every emotion from lust, love, happiness, anger, sadness, and jealousy. The female main character has agoraphobia and Melanie Martins did a beautiful job writing mental health into the story. Each character had multiple layers. You feel like you know them all but at the end of the book, you still want more. I laughed. I cried. I gasped aloud. It’s a read. I rarely call anything a five-star. It’s well written. There are beautiful lines that I want to save forever.
New to me author and books, very appreciative to the author for my ARC! This is a dark, forbidden, erotic and age-gap romance, but so much more! This book is more reality than the fairy tale type of image. It’s raw, real, passionate and PLOT TWIST. Just when I thought I got it, I didn’t and will say that I was not expecting the outcome of the book.
This is something where the hero is not your every day type of hero, there are secrets here, little mystery, lot’s of erotic and forbidden, which if you love this will be it for you. The heroine will come off as a semiprecious girl but in all honestly when you find out the ending, it will all make sense. It’s something I am not used to ready on a normal base so it was rather refreshing and there is a book #2 coming that I will definitely be looking into. I don’t do spoilers so no more from me that hasn’t already been said in the review’s but will say that this is not a regular romance!
