He proposed, and I proposed a deal too.A simple deal, really. We get engaged and close up the sex shop until the big night. Totally doable. But Mr. Future Liz thinks I won’t last a week, let alone five months, so we make the deal a bit spicier. He wants a snowy honeymoon (ew) and I’m geared up for the Bahamas. Whoever lasts longer without the touchy, naughty, smoochy will get their dream honeymoon. smoochy will get their dream honeymoon.
I’ve got this in the bag.

Loved this story. We join Liz and Landon after they have been together for a few years. Things have settled and are no longer crazily romantic. The story takes you on a journey of how to love, accept and keep moving forward.
I loved this fresh take on a romance. The book starts with Landon and Lizzie’s engagement….where their romantic life is a little ho hum after four years together. They make a bet…who can last until the wedding day? The young, broke couple battles it out together and there are a lot of sweet moments: laughing together during intimacy and retelling how they got together. Super sweet, super funny, but also made me cry (Liz and the macaroni!!!). Great read.
Not Your Average Engagement is a cute fun read. You will laugh out loud when it comes to Lizzie and Landon planning their wedding. All the mishaps along the way are a giggling good time. Liz and Landon are such a lovely couple. They bring out the best in each other. I really couldn’t get enough of this one. It is such a fun read. I cannot wait for more from the Not Your Average series.
This book Not Your Average Engagement had me smiling and laughing the whole time. My face actually hurts from smiling so much. It’s about a couple that gets their traditional HEA moment in the beginning, but they have to work hard to not let life’s little things (which often feels like really big things) get in the way of their love and their future. I recommend this book to any romance lover, especially if you want a book that makes you smile and gives you all kinds of “awwww” moments.
This was my first Cassie Mae’s book. This is the first book in the New York Chapter Series, a Romantic Comedy. OMG! Liz and Landon’s story is hilarious. Liz is beautiful and feisty! Landon is handsome and patient. Their bet brings them through some hilarious situations, inducing angst, frustration, and misunderstandings! It was fun to follow them in their journey! Meghan Kelly did a wonderful reading of this story. If you want something fun to listen to these days, this one is for you! I enjoyed it. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is a fun, cute, hilarious story of a young couple who have been together 4 years. Liz thinks they sex life is slowing down, boring like peas and carrots. She wants excitement like ice cream with chocolate and whipped cream.
When Liz and Landon get engaged, they couldn’t agree where to go on a honeymoon. Liz suggested to Landon to make the wedding night special. No sex until the wedding night. Whoever gives in first loses , and the winner gets to choose . The antics, teasing, they go thru get each other to give in to sex is so funny. I was laughing so much throughout this story. Thank you for a great story.
Meghan Kelly is a joy to listen to. Her narration was superb. Her portrayal of the characters and emotions really made this story fun, interesting to listen to. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review
A Profoundly Charming Story Superb Narration
Not Your Average Engagement
Not Your Average: New York Chapter, Book 1
By: Cassie Mae
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
This book is awesome, it is an original story that is entertaining and enjoyable. This is my first Cassie Mae and it will not be my last, she is a talented author with an impressive writing style and creative mind, her storylines and characters are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the two lead characters, Lizzie and Landon, they met in college, she fell for him right from the start. They’ve been living together and are newly engaged. With terrific descriptive details the author brings you alongside these characters giving you an inside view of what is going one in their life, what they are thinking, seeing and feeling. The book has great dialogue and is beautifully plotted. There is never a dull moment there’s plenty of drama, relationship and family, some great laughs, shows some struggling and juggling in everyday life as well as a wonderful romance with a whole lot of heart. Cassie Mae, thank you for this wonderful story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride, it was a unique and pleasurable ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Meghan Kelly is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. She does an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. She is great at covering both male and female roles, makes it easy to follow along and know who is who. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she captures the characters emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen
Not Your Average Engagement (Not Your Average: New York Chapter, Book 1) is such a cute life like story with oddles of humor. The characters are likeable and their back and forth banter is continously funny. A morsel of angst, loads of humor and just right amount of romance. The ending is perfect.
Narrator Meghan Kelly did a wonderful performance with this audio. She portrayed the characters with different voices and all the right emotions.
Looking for a light fun listen, then this is definitely for you..
This book will have you laughing through most of it and there will be times that your emotions pour out. I really liked this book. It has a bit of everything to please everyone and the narration was just perfect.
Not Your Average Engagement
Not Your Average: New York Chapter, Book 1
By: Cassie Mae
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
If you are looking for a little romance, a little comedy and a little angst, this book is for you! Cassie Mae has written a story that lets you get lost in the daily lives of an engaged couple, Liz and Landon, that have sworn off sleeping together until their wedding night. A bet is made who will cave first and it will decide their honeymoon location. But there is so much more to this than just the bet. It’s a story of real feelings, how things effect a relationship, intimacy and family. I really enjoyed all the components, and the humor that is laced through it all. Liz had me laughing a lot with all of her chocolate references, and how she dealt with her feelings…nothing a little chocolate bar can’t fix! And Landon is just a doll, even with his lack of confidence at times! It’s funny, flirty, angsty, and delicious and I really enjoyed this listen!
Meghan Kelly is one I will listen to read the phone book. She has a way of tuning into the characters, and this one in particular, she dialed in and found Liz and Landon. She gave them each a voice and personality that was true to life. I laughed and teared up, was frustrated and in love as Kelly gives us all the nuances and inflections of the characters. It’s a fantastic performance.
