I enjoyed reading these novella’s They were suspenseful and kept me reading when I should have gone to bed. I liked how they incorporated the characters from the previous novella’s into the stories. I also enjoyed reading about Derek St. John finding his true love. All the men seem to be super heroes and can protect the women they love. That just adds to the appeal of the stories.
I recommend this book to all mystery buffs.
I was given this book by Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
Protecting Tanner Hollow by Lynette Eason is four romantic suspense novellas in one book. All four stories take place in the small town of Tanner Hollow, North Carolina. In Lethal Homecoming Kallie Ainsworth returns home for her stepfather’s funeral only to be met attempts on her life by an unknown assailant. Nolan Tanner the boy she left behind still has feelings for her. Can he protect her and solve the mystery behind who wants her dead before he loses her again, this time for good? In Lethal Conspiracy Lillian Maloney sees her fathers campaign manager murder a woman. Now Lillian must run and hide or she will be next. Firefighter Jason Tanner rescues her from a house fire but can he rescue her from the man who wants her dead? In Lethal Secrets Honor McBride rolls into Tanner Hollow with trouble following. Eli Murphy comes to her aid and helps her change a flat tire. Can he help stop the person who wants Honor dead or will he become a victim? And finally, in Lethal Agenda Detective Derek St. John helps rescue Claire Montgomery from a masked mad-man. The question is why is he after Claire? Will Derek become a target because of his association with Claire? All four are short stories but they don’t feel rushed like most short stories do. MS. Eason gives you plenty of romance and danger. When you pick up this book make sure you have plenty of time to finish it! I loved Tanner Hollow and didn’t want to leave.
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
If you love romantic suspense, Tanner Hollow is the place to be.
Even in charming small town America danger sometimes lurks around the corner.
These four novellas combine into one great book full of suspense. Each one has interconnected characters who face danger as they grow in love and faith.
With the perfect heroes just waiting to come to the rescue, and emotions stirring, happily ever after could be closer than they think. If they survive long enough to find it.
Not only did I love the main characters in each novella, but the side characters were well written and woven into the story in a way that made them real. Who wouldn’t love a boisterous large family, and precocious kids?
I had one small issue, I love Lynette’s books, but It was a bit disappointing to feel like I’d read at least part of this one before. I knew exactly what was going to happen, and the ending as soon as I began to read.
I still recommend this book. I was given an ARC courtesy of Baker Publishing Group through Interviews and Reviews and this is my honest opinion.

by Net Galley and Revell.
If you enjoy a book with non-stop action, full of suspense, and mystery, you’re in for a treat with four riveting stories.
What ties them together is the location Tanner Hollow, and a few characters that appear in each story, even if just a brief part.
When I finished reading, one I quickly got immersed in the next, and the book was finished before I knew it.
For me I loved all of the stories, but the last one reunited me with the St. John family, and wow, I wasn’t expecting it, but it made me happy!
I received this book through the Revell Reads Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
I highly recommend this wonderful, lightly connected, four book series! In Lethal Homecoming, Kallie Ainsworth left home years ago to escape her abusive stepfather. Now she has returned and Deputy Nolan Tanner needs to know why she left town…and him. When an attempt is made on her life, Nolan comes to her rescue. It seems that someone did not want Kallie returning home. In Lethal Conspiracy, Nolan’s brother, firefighter Jason, arrives to find Lilly Peterson’s house on fire and she is found in her car in the garage with the engine running. Luckily, he is in time and she convinces him that she was not attempting suicide, but that someone is trying to murder her. In Lethal Secrets, Honor McBride has arrived in Tanner Hollow with her five children after her abusive husband died and she was threatened by a man who said her husband owed him money. Eli Marshall, bank owner and part time pastor, knows that someone from her past is still a danger to Honor and is there to protect her and her children. In Lethal Agenda, Claire Montgomery, forensic supervisor, (who we first met in Lethal Conspiracy), returns home to find an intruder in her home and barely escapes with her life. Who would be trying to kill her? Derek St. John, officer and SWAT team member, is vacationing in Tanner Hollow and has always been attracted to Claire. Will he be able to help find out who wants her dead…and why? In Lethal Agenda, there is a wonderful update on characters from Ms. Eason’s amazing “Blue Justice” series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
3.5 stars
“Bad things happened in the dark.” – Lethal Homecoming
Kallie Armstrong travels home to Tanner Hollow only to experience an accident that was meant to end her life before she even arrived. When help appears, it’s in the form of a hero who captured her heart so many years ago; when she left without saying good-by. Nolan Tanner.
“He needed to put away the image of the beautiful dark haired woman on the gurney . . . ” – Lethal Conspiracy
Tanner Hollow firefighter Jason Tanner is shocked by his visceral reaction to Lilly Peterson. After finding her trapped in a burning garage and accompanying her to the hospital, he actually believes her unusual story . . she wasn’t trying to commit suicide, she was certain that someone was trying to kill her.
“The desperation flashing in the woman’s pretty, yet fatigued, eyes tugged on heartstrings he’d thought long gone.” – Lethal Secrets
Eli Marshall is happy to change the newcomer’s tires and make sure that her five young children got something to eat, but he is certain that Honor McBrie is not going to like the condition of her new home. Unfortunately, she’s made it perfectly clear that she doesn’t necessarily need his help . . . .until she does.
“Someone’s in my house . . . . ” – Lethal Agenda
Claire Montgomery never expected to nearly die in her own home. When Tanner Hollow Sheriff Nolan Tanner responds to her distress call, he has someone with him; Derek St. John. How could her one time conversation with the handsome detective over a year ago still remain so present in her memory?
Four fast paced stories with multitudinous scenarios and a dizzying array of plot curves; packaged perfectly into an enjoyable collection.
I received a copy of this book from Baker Publishing through Interviews and Reviews. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.
What a great collection! These fast paced, action packed suspense novellas will leave you breathless and glued to the pages. They each had the perfect combination of romance and suspense, and each one left me guessing until the reveal. The first three stories were previously published, but the fourth one is brand new and features Derek St. John from Eason’s Blue Justice series. While I enjoyed each one of these novellas a great deal, I do have to say that Derek’s was my favorite. I was so happy that he finally got his time in the spotlight.
Lethal Homecoming
This was short, but it packed a big punch. There was a lot of family drama and secrets. A very compelling read.
Lethal Conspiracy
I love a good conspiracy, so with the title Lethal Conspiracy, I was sure to like this story. And I did! There’s so much excitement and so many twists and turns. My only complaint is that the relationship seemed to move a little fast, but it is a novella so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.
Lethal Secrets
This started off a little slower paced than the others, but by the end it really picked up. The kids were adorable and I loved Lady the dog. This ended up being my second favorite of the collection.
Lethal Agenda
This was Derek St. John’s story and, gosh, was it good! What can I say about it other than the fact that it was as close to perfect as a novella can get? It’s my favorite of the collection, by far. It didn’t feel too short, although I wouldn’t have minded if it had just kept on going. I loved getting to visit the whole St. John clan again. What a great way to end the series!
All in all, Protecting Tanner Hollow was a can’t-put-down thrill ride that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
Award-winning author Lynette Eason takes readers on a fast-paced, adrenaline-filled ride through the small town of Tanner Hollow in her latest romantic suspense novella collection, Protecting Tanner Hollow. The first three novellas were previously published as e-books by this author (Lethal Homecoming, Lethal Conspiracy, and Lethal Secrets), so readers will love how these stories come together in this fantastic collection. Since the novellas primarily take place in the town of Tanner Hollow, several of the characters have appearances in multiple stories in the collection, which makes the novellas more enjoyable to read.
The addition of Lethal Agenda, the highly anticipated story of Derek St. John from Lynette Eason’s Blue Justice series, makes this novella collection a must-read for fans of the St. John family. I was thrilled when I found out that Derek St. John would be getting his own story. As a huge fan of the Blue Justice series, I would have preferred for Derek’s story to have been told in a full length novel, but Lethal Agenda does provide an extremely satisfying conclusion to the Blue Justice series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
I thoroughly enjoy romantic suspense. Lynette Eason is very good at this genre and I was excited when I saw she had this book coming out. Eason gives us four wonderfully suspenseful novellas AND one of them gives us Derek St. John’s story! I loved her Blue Justice series and the St. John siblings, so I was very happy to read Derek’s story. I recommend this book.
*My thanks to Revell Publishing for a complimentary copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion stated here is my own.
