-Tinks-From the moment I befriended him, I set a conspiracy in motion.A revolution.Kill Peter Pan.And I was their ultimate weapon.I was also none the wiser, falling hopelessly and irrevocably in love with him as the years went by.Just as they hoped I would. But their plan comes to a screeching halt when Peter vanishes into thin air, something I’ll learn has nothing to do with Rosewood at all.You … to do with Rosewood at all.
You see, Peter never truly loved me…because he loved a wench instead.
He lied to me, he used me, he left me, and he broke me.
Forever altering me in ways that incite revenge when Hook sweeps in with revelations and the ultimate truth.
Peter may have turned his back on me, but in the end, he and his precious little Wendy will choke on every last tear I once shed.
And I’ll have Hook to thank for that.
-Hook-
It’s no secret I always despised Peter Pan.
A common threat amongst the factions, I should’ve killed him when I had the chance, long before he sank his claws deep into Tinksley’s heart.
But his death at my hands wasn’t what the plan called for, despite how I felt for her.
I’d always been drawn to the girl, innocently enough at first…until that vile abomination marked her with his stamp, unleashing a sense of propriety I had no rights to.
Didn’t matter—he had her…and I wanted her.
Then like magic, he disappeared.
I thought my time had come, but the road to owning Tinksley’s heart comes with a price.
A price so dark and depraved it strips her of her purity and awakens the beast within.
All because of the truth.
Sometimes, there is honor in revenge, and it will be my utmost pleasure to watch as Peter Pan finally meets his maker.
His maker who will soon be my Queen.

Once you read this book you will never think of Peter Pan the same way ever again.
Get ready for a twisted sexy dark take on a fairytale. Who knew Tink and Hook were such a filthy pair who live in a dirty dark world. Slow build love with seriously hot sex scenes and an original engaging storyline. A world beyond your imagination and a cast of characters you will obsess over.
Am I ready for Wendy’s book you bet I am. Well played Dee Garcia.

I’m not usually one for the dark and twisted (it’s hit and miss for me) but with a fairytale retelling thrown in the mix I had to give this a shot and I wasn’t disappointed.
The plot is something I haven’t seen before which is refreshing and the story is well written with characters that captured the mind, and not just the hero and heroine either but the whole cast…..
I can’t wait to see more from this beautiful crafted world.
I normally do not read PNR, but Dee Garcia hooked (see what I did there) me in with this retelling of Peter Pan!!!!! This book is absolutely amazing!!!!!
What can I say about this I’m trying to gather my thoughts to put into words on this book.
This book gives a whole new dark and interestingly dark twist on things from beginning to end it will pull you in and keep you turning page after page to see what is going to happen. Tink, Hook, Peter and so many others will fill you up with so many emotions, feels, headache, heartbreak, passion, and so many other things your head will spin. Truly an amazing read
Rating: 4.5 Stars
The author is sweet and gives her readers a link to the Playlist that goes with this story. She goes one better by letting you know when you should be listening to a particular piece of music.
Just like a play, or movie, this story is told in Acts. A good way to decide on the best stopping point you would think but I found it difficult because of the addictive factor. She also puts a spin on this fairy tale by adding in a paranormal twist.
Callan “Hook” is not the man of childhood fairy tales. Tinksley Bell shows us a different side to her relationship with Peter. I found it interesting that in staying true to the story, our author makes Peter more of a secondary character – she lets Tinksley shine. The author is sneaky too because she waits until the end before dropping a bomb that will blow your mind.
This story made me curious as to the other books our author has written. Good thing she left me with a list to make my job easier. She did a great job in catching my attention and not releasing it until the very end. Her latest was a reminder that I may have watched the Dustin Hoffman/Robin Williams movie one too many times.
In the beginning of my adventure, Hook may have looked an awful lot like someone. But once I got fully entrenched into what was going on than my mind turned that image off – thank goodness. The same could be said about Peter. As a kid listening to the original story, I never really wondered what Tinkerbell did once she disappeared from a scene and I think that’s because it wasn’t about her. Make no mistake this is not a story for children because this twist is for adult eyes only.
In this version, her character has more depth – more emotion. It’s one more indication that this is not your childhood fairy tale. Even Hook has more depth – not quite the meanie as previously portrayed. The original was a great vessel for the author to take something old and make it new again. There are also modern items that infiltrate what’s happening and yet it still surprises me. That’s what’s good about fantasies – there are limitless possibilities. The bad thing is, now I want to see this made into a movie so that I can see how the screenwriter would interpret what this author has written. It also left me looking forward to seeing what other fairy tales are going to get a modern spin – can’t wait. But I will also have to watch out for the author’s Rosewood Realm series since Tinksley and Hook’s story may not be over.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Have you seen that meme that gets around? The one that says I read fairy tales, there just dirtier know? Yeah, this book is the perfect example of that. This story is based on the classic Peter Pan with Captain Hook, Tink and all the aspects you enjoy; but with more dirt, more darkness, and more heat!
This book is addicting, and not in the traditional great writing way, but in the way I was absorbed into this world, these characters became so interesting (and a bit mysterious) that I HAD to turn the pages, I HAD to know what was next. I love the liberties the author took with such a traditional story; it really set this story a flame. Well balanced with action and steamy scenes this book is fantastic and a must read for dark fairy tale lovers!
This story does have triggers, I would not consider this a safe read, but if you are here looking into this author and this series (it is the sinister fairy tale series after all) then know what you are getting! I received and ARC and am leaving an honest review.
This is quite the fairy tale. A book that will grip you from the very beginning, hook you with each page until the very end. If you love fairy tales you will want to read this one. It will be one you never saw coming.
This one a retelling of the famous Neverland story. Dee twists this one up and has you hooked wanting more. You will never see the story of Hook, Tink and Pan the same after reading this version. Dee turns everything completely around and has you turning page after page wanting to know what is going to happen next between these three.
Tink and Pan aren’t suppose to be together. But neither one of them care what they are suppose to be or not suppose to be. Tink loves Pan even if she isn’t suppose too. But one day Pan breaks her when he does the unthinkable.
Tink suffers in silence for days. Then she is suppose to be taking care of a little girl for her friend but because of her suffering and worrying about only herself something happens. She ends up taking matters into her own hands.
Hook ends up coming to save her . But what he does ends up being maybe not the right thing because once Tink realizes what he has done she is not at all happy with him? Will she realize why he did what he did? Will Tink realize the truth about Hook and how he feels about her? Once she learns the whole truth about her life what is going to happen to her world.
This book is full of suspense, twists, turns, and mind blowing moments. Not the fairy tale I remember reading as a kid. I absolutely love the twist that Dee puts on this storyline. It is not only unique but blows this storyline out of the water. This is the dark and twisty version that is a must read for fairy tale lovers.
Oh my, where do I start? I’m not going to talk about plot, read the blurb for that, but I am going to talk about how this book made me think and feel. First off, let me say that this is NOT the typical Peter Pan fairy tale. Nope, it’s so much better, darker, all-consuming and (quite honestly) shockingly wonderful. If you don’t like dark writings, steer clear of this baby, but if you’re like me (and call the darkness your friend at times) then venture forth. You’ll love it.
As I read this, my heart ran through the entire gambit of emotions: happy, angry, shocked, relieved, disgusted…I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Gah!!!! This book was so amazingly unique.
Dee Garcia is on my list of favored authors. She’s never, ever disappoints me. But here, with this book, she raised her already high bar even higher. I can’t say enough good things about it. Take a walk on the dark and dangerous side in the comfort of your own home. You’ll love every page. Highly recommended.
All I’m a say is:
CAPTAIN HOOK AKA CAPTAIN SUCIO LMAO.
Amazing read and an even better way to kick off the sinister squad!!
This was a great-darker retelling of Peter pan and Tink. I don’t want to give too much away just know you must pick up this book asap!
PHENOMENAL DARK RETELLING!!!
DAMN!!! This is an amazing dark retelling of Tinkerbell, Peter Pan and Captain Hook!! This is not your regular fairy-tale story. This one is full of darkness, mystery, sex and death. There is no boundary this author won’t cross – her imagination is endless. This story will take you on a very intense rollercoaster ride. It will sink its hooks into you and won’t let you go. You will be thinking about this one long after you finish it. It is that amazing!
The world building and storytelling is so detailed and lifelike I felt like I was right there in the story along with all of the characters. I was not in my childhood Neverland anymore. I was in the adult version where all of my fantasies played out. Captain Hook is everything my adult self wanted. Dark, sexy, growly, dangerous and ferocious. Tinksley is not your average little halfling fairy. She is a force to be reckoned with. When she loves – she loves HARD. When Captain Hook and Tink finally come together it is utterly explosive and set my panties on fire!!! The intense steam between these two is so erotic! I MEAN WOW!!!!
This story continued to shock and amaze me right from the start. The plot line was dark and twisty with endless possibilities. The ending was exactly what I was craving and I can’t wait to see how the story continues.
Highly recommend.
I was captivated by Hook the instant I started reading this book. He wants Tinksley and hates Peter Pan for taking her heart and leaving her. Tinksley will have her revenge. Forget everything you thought you knew about the story of Peter Pan. The sex is slow burn but hot between Hook and Tinksley. A dark, delicious retelling and totally new way of thinking about this story.
A wickedly clever retelling of one of the best fairy-tales out there. Dee Garcia manages to deliver a smoldering story decorated in deviance and pulsating with passion. It’s dark, it’s gritty, it’s romantic and beautiful. It’s also remarkably original and outside the box, especially given that it’s supposed to be a re-telling. You spend most of the book trying to piece together the puzzle that is ‘Rosewood’ and it’s magical inhabitants. There are dozens of twists and turns and it all skillfully leads to one of the best fantastical storylines I’ve read in ages.
I really want to stress how vividly imaginative and creative the world building is within this story, I think it’s truly inspiring what the author managed to deliver. The descriptions are so tangible that it’s easy to get lost in this world, it’s like you can see it all playing out in your head. Maybe it’s partially because the characters felt fresh and yet familiar, but I’m convinced that it has less to do with that and everything to do with the authors talent and skill for the written word. Whatever the reason, this was definitely one of my favorite fictional worlds that I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting.
Now, let’s talk heat. The steam factor. It’s sweltering. The build-up is intense and erotic, setting the stage for the most epic of collisions. I mean, these two characters have chemistry that explodes off the pages. It might detonate slowly, but the impact is devastating and severe. I was blown away, truly. If ever there were two dark souls who were meant to be, it’s Tink and Hook.
All in all, this story was nothing short of miraculous. I loved the detail, the heat, the passion and whirling twirling plot-lines. I adored that there were mysteries that continued to unfold throughout the entire story, rejoiced at the originality the author offered. For a retelling, this story was uniquely brilliant and original. I couldn’t get enough of Rosewood and it’s mystical inhabitants, and I’m willing to bet you’ll feel the same. Congrats Dee, you nailed this one. I can’t wait to see what journey awaits this sinister crew next!
This is a part of the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection –
Each is a dark retelling of once treasured fairy tales
Each is standalone though they interconnect to an overall story line
Neverland re-imagined
Garcia sets the stage for the first release in what is a heart-pounding twisted variation of one my childhood favorites
Our sweet little Tink is crushing on Peter … as it should be.
But her parentage is a bit more corrupted? Dare I say?
In the first half of the book, her “innocence” factor and head over heels “you are my forever” with Pan was a touch nauseating. Never fear though she finds her insanity
I can only reveal all bets are off once she does.
Tink has always been one of my favorite characters and if it is possible I like her even more now.
Hook … his side of the tale is a bit different than the childhood version.
Still, not a fan of Peter’s and still enjoys tormenting his captives.
Hook dominates the pages.
He comes off to others as this dark and dangerous villain but Tink sees past the outer shell.
Have to say he was a bloody delicious main character
I don’t want to give spoilers – sooooo I am not going to say much.
This does start a bit slow (IMO) but it seemed a necessary evil –
Once our little Tink finds her wings again -Hold on tight and no peeking!
We are also briefly introduced to some characters that will feature in future releases as well as give an idea of how the lands are laid out. Different kingdoms providing different backdrops but interconnected still. I am excited to read the next in this series.
Just a fantastic read!
OH, before I go I really need to share this thought –
That OMG moment
– the one that changes everything?
OMG!
Venom is fabulous retelling of Peter Pan! I’m hooked on these characters! Even though I’m not a huge PNR reader, this one kept me wanting more. It’s dark and twisted, but that just made me like it even more!
“No one is perfect, not a soul on this planet.”
In this story, No one of perfect. Not Hook, Peter or Tinksley. Tinksley is rebellious and sassy. Peter is twisted and Hook is the savior. Peter and Hook have secrets that could tear Tinksley apart.
“The truth will set you free.”
There are several truths that need to be told and one very twisted plot twist. By the end, I hated Peter with every fiber of my being. He deserves everything that’s coming to him. Hook is my hero. I seriously love everything about him. Not only is he my hero, he is Tinksley’s, too. She just needs to realize it.
“love is not proud or self-seeking. Nor does it keep record of wrongdoings. “
All you need is love. Unfortunately for Tink, not everything is at is seems. Before you can love others, you have to love and forgive yourself. It’s a hard lesson, but one that Hook is more than willing to help her see.
Hook and Tink get their HEA. I can’t wait to see where the author takes the next book!
Venom by Dee Garcia is part of the Sinister Fairy-tales Collection. This book has the retelling of Peter Pan but with a very darker theme. In addition the characters have the same names but they are totally different. We had Tinkerbell who was strong, sexy and has spunk. Captain Hook was the hero who wanted Tinkerbell. Peter Pan had played with Tinkerbell’s feelings but his feelings lay with Wendy. All this taken place in the land of Rosewood. This does have the darker theme as I mentioned but I enjoyed this book and hope to read more in this series and author.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Tinks: From the moment I beriended him, I set a conspiracy in motion. A revolution. Kill Peter Pan. And I was their ultimate weapon. This is the first book in the Sinister Fairy Tales Series. It is a collection of dark retelling of fairy tales that will each be their own story and have there own endings but the book are interconnected because they all take place in Rosewood. This is the retelling of Peter Pan and it has parnamoral elements to it and I really really enjoyed it. I have questions though and I know they will get answered as the series goes on. I don’t want to give anything away about his story. I went into it blind. I didn’t even know what it as about just that I love retelling of fairy tales when they have dark things added. I can’t wait to get the next book in my hands. Dee Garcia blew me away with this one. Run don’t walk and get this amazing book. Your going to be hooked from the the get go I promise. Then, your going to be hooked on the Sinister Fairy Tales Series.
Venom by Dee Garcia was twisted , dark and depraved. It was angsty , thrilling and exciting from the first page to the last words. And it broke the boundaries and limits of the classic fairy tale beyond my wildest imagination. With my bruised jaw from hitting the floor way too many times, pounding heart and disbelieving eyes ; I recommend this book one hundred percent.
Ok. Let me start with the confession that I do not read fantasy or paranormal romance. But when the Sinister Fairytales Collection was announced, I signed up ASAP as the collection has some of my most favorite authors and I cannot wait to see how they retell the classic fairytales in twisted ways.
And what a start to the journey! I am still processing what the hell I just read! It is the retelling of Peter Pan. And I am telling you…warning you…alerting you…it will be so far from the original story that you would not know what to do with the feelings. Set in the mythical land of Rosewood, this story will turn your heart upside down yet you will recognize the skeletons of your childhood story.
The old cruel villain Captain Hook is gone. This Captain is the broody, arrogant, intense and gorgeous almost king of this land. Feared, respected and adored equally. A guy with a crooked moral compass but his intensity will burn you in the best possible way. The sweet and cute Tinkerbell is gone. Tinksley is fire and ice in the sinful body and beautiful mind. She can love like the most loyal and giving person but when she hates, may lord save you. The beast inside her makes her a stronger being, a formidable foe and a queen in her own right. The forever young and kind and adorable Peter Pan is gone. Instead you will get an almost vile person with flaws and imperfections. The intricate world with different mythical creatures and their interplays were beautifully written. I cannot believe the way she reconstructed and deconstructed everything. The story line was full of twists and turns and it kept me at the edge of my seat all the time!
And I may have been readdicted to PNR. Or should I say….I WAS TURNED? This story is not for faint hearted. Dee Garcia has written an incredible story with raw emotions and intense curves those will play games with your mind. Keep your inhibitions outside and mind open while entering the dangerous and mysterious world of Rosewood. And I promise you are in for an unforgettable and mindblowing experience.

***5 ‘The Heart Sings Under Such Proclamations’ Stars***
I signed up for this baby absolutely blind.
I didn’t know which fairy tale the author was going to tackle, hell I had never even read anything by the author before, but simply knowing that a couple of my fav authors were going to be apart of this collection, I made the jump and I really, REALLY loved this baby.
I loved how the world of Peter Pan was re-imagined as well as the various twists that were made to some of the mainstay characters we’ve grown up loving (or not) and I cannot wait to visit this world again!
Now for Tink, Hook and Peter. I don’t want to give anything away ~ spoilers really are no fun (at least for most) but what I will say is that I loved Tink and absolutely ADORED Hook! Tink definitely goes through a lot in this baby, but I loved the person she became. And Hook…the man isn’t necessarily ‘good’ be he sure as hell all kinds goodness ~ even when being a bit evil. And as for Pan? Well….He definitely gets what he deserves in the end.
As I said in the beginning, this is my first read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was engaging, pacing was good and I the first person POV’s were well done. The “dark” in this was pretty middle ground for me, nothing OTT, but there are elements that may be triggers to some. And for the supporting cast of characters…there are quite a few who have peaked my interest, but as a whole Captain Hook’s crew are the ones I want to get know a lot better, so I will definitely be on the lookout for more, not only of this series, but the author as well!

I can honestly say never before in my life had I entertained the thought that Peter Pan wasn’t perfect. I’m not sure I can go back to the image of a mischievous, yet innocent troublemaker. Dee Garcia is going to take you on a trip to Rosewood and then a little beyond. It’s a voyage you will anticipate, revel in, and delight in the outcome but getting there is quite the journey.
Tinksley and Hook are quite the pair. I’m not sure I can undo/unpaired them in my mind now. This Sinister Fairy Tale is more than I expected and everything I hoped for. Clearly, the wicked in me really likes being unleashed. I think yours will too!
Venom is an unusual twist of the tale we all know. Whether you think of the novel, the animated movie, or even the live action ones, Peter Pan will never be the same. I had never before had the hots for Captain Hook and not I’m not sure I can stop! Beware reader…Rosewood isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s Captain is more than you bargained for and your eager human heart may be in danger of being a puppet to his ways.
