4.5 stars!! Another hit taboo book by the one and only, K Webster!!
So this was a taboo treat (massive age gap) but it just didn’t feel that way to me. It felt right. It felt super fucking hot! It felt beautiful.
Dr Dan is like what girls dream of being their doctor. Not only is he like sex on a stick but he is compassionate, loving, and super smart. I love his devotion to Lauren.
Lauren is your typical 18 yr old. Except she does have daddy issues (hence the dating a 45 yr old). More of she is lonely and going through hell. This poor girl is a fighter and I think it is fantastic she found Dr Dan.
This is a quick read which I found completely entranced me. It was so freaking beautiful. Heartbreaking but beautiful. This is a definite HEA.
**I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.**
K Webster really has a way with words, you can’t help but love every character she brings to life.
Daniel and Lauren meet at the hospital, romantic i know, Daniel see’s Lauren and he knows she’s hiding something.
Lauren likes to bury her head in the sand, but given the history you can kinda understand why.
Daniel will do everything to help her, even when she doesn’t want it.
I really loved the storyline with this one, it’s a book you could easily sit and read in one sitting and get lost in the characters. I loved how both of them despite circumstances and illnesses they kept wanting to help others.
This is one of the Taboo Treat books from K Webster. The books are complete standalones, but you will understand the characters more if you read it in order. They are all fun and steamy reads. To understand this book more, I suggest you read Enzo and Red Hot Winter first.
Ok, now back to this book. Dr. Venable met Lauren during one of her visits to the hospital. They fell madly in love irregardless of their age gap. One of the things I really love is Daniel’s dedication to Lauren. No matter what the obstacles, he stood by her, held her hands and showered her with love and patience. Lauren, overwhelmed by her deteriorating health and illness, fought like a warrior. This is real life my friends. Not some fantasy books that you read in the past. Every word, every description, every pain and suffering is happening everyday to who might or might not be close to you. Your family, your neighbor, your friends, strangers walking down the streets might be going through it right now. That is why I love this book so much. How close it is to reality. If I could give this book a 10 stars I would. Well done K Webster. Another wonderful read from you.
***5 Stars***
It’s really hard to not devour these little treats.
Now matter what taboo they tackle.
And Dr. Dan was no different. From the first page I was all in. Okay, even before that because I’ve already met the good doctor, and though there were quite a few growls of frustration that occured, I ended up loving how everything turned out for Dan and Lauren.
I adored Dr. Dan. He is a good man, who genuinely wants to help others. He also turns into quite a smexy beast, which was a huge bonus. Lauren. This girl. She’s snarky, sassy and has a pretty good head on her shoulder and my heart hurt for her, it did, but the frustration in regards to some of the choices she made had me growling. Thankfully, she collides with Dr. Dan and things start to change, for both of them. She gets him to think of living a life outside of his job and he gets her to see that hiding isn’t the way to go. Even though there is an age gap, they had a great flow and their bantering was a lot of fun and the smexy was hot. They go through the emotional ringer on this one, but I loved how things worked out for them in the end.
