Lucy Reyes didn’t need anyone interfering with her life as an investigative reporter. She’d found out the hard way that having to depend on someone made you weak and left you vulnerable. When she overhears a private conversation that leaves her feeling sorry for her childhood crush, she takes up the mantle and begins writing the soldier who’d been betrayed. Jamie Post had always known the … the direction of his life. He had a fiancée back home and was working diligently to be a strong provider until he discovers that Annabelle’s loyalty lies elsewhere – in someone else’s arms. Jamie takes what comfort he can in purging all his thoughts and emotions to a acquaintance on the other side of the world, when suddenly Lucy materializes on base in Afghanistan in jeopardy.
Can Lucy tackle a job in the middle of a warzone while fighting the feelings inside of her? Will Jamie discover that letting down his guard means letting someone back into his heart? Can fate intervene, bringing these two hearts together in a world torn apart?

This is the first book by Ginny Sterling that I have read. I thought that this was a great contemporary romance. I loved how even though Lucy could have told Jamie that he was an idiot for not seeing the type of woman his long term girlfriend was, instead she is his friend and becomes someone he can talk to. I loved how the teacher taught Lucy that she doesn’t need a man to define her happiness, how she needs to be confident in who she is. I then loved how years later when these two meet again there romance develops from mutual trust and friendship. I did enjoy reading this and I look forward to reading more in this series.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Remember Fate
Lucy had always been attracted to Jamie but he was already taken. Things happen and he becomes available. Will Lucy and Jamie have a chance?
I love how Lucy was a reporter and was brave enough to go report in Afghanistan. Jamie was already in Afghanistan in the war. A book that takes you right up to the front line in the war. The problems they deal with and being away from home.
I received an advanced copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.
Remember Fate (Healing Hearts Book 5) by Ginny Sterling is an emotional and compelling Contemporary Military Romance set in Afghanistan. While, book 5 in the “Healing Hearts” series, it can be read as a stand alone. This is my first time reading this author and I was totally engrossed in this story.
Well written with engaging and believable characters. The storyline flows seamlessly and effortlessly with danger, drama, an unfaithful girlfriend, emotionally charged, with flawed characters, childhood friendships, loyalty, danger and second chances.
Follow, Jameson Post, whose in the US Army and Lucy Reyes, who works with a news agency, on their journey of love, friendship, caring, second chances and finding a HEA.
Well balanced story with depth and the characters are well developed, will they finally find their true love.
I found Afghanistan a unique place for a setting. The author gives the reader a glimpse into military lifestyle, war zone, culture of the Afghanistan people, and sends the reader on a rollercoaster ride of danger and romance. Well worth the time to read.
“I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.”

Really enjoyed! Lucy had loved Jameson since school, but he only had eyes for self-centered Annabelle. Lucy being a kind soul became friends to both and watched from the sidelines how Jamie was treated by his girlfriend. Fate stepped in and sent Lucy in Afghanistan where Jamie was station. There were some intensely dangerous moments and some moments I wanted to slap Annabelle for the way she treated everyone. If you like sweet, clean, suspenseful stories, you can’t go wrong with Remember Fate.
Great addition to the series. Learning self-worth is important and patience necessary, but all things possible through faith. Lots of drama and emotional interaction between main characters on their way to the HEA. Good to read of characters in previous book and how they interact with these main characters. Looking forward to the next book.
Oh, wow! This book is good!!! It has Annabelle, someone I’d love to smack upside the head! She’s definitely the character you don’t like!! The bad part is, there are really people just like her in the world!! What a selfish piece of work! Then, you have Lucy, the great friend, girl nextdoor, type. I loved that she and Jamie finally got together!!! Though, you’re also kinda surprised she’d want him, after Annabelle has him! Jamie’s the too trusting, don’t rock the boat, hero, who makes all of us fall for him in the end, and glad that he sees that Annabelle wasn’t worth his time! Just too bad he went through all he did! Overall, a good read!
I received a complimentary copy of the book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is totally mine!
This is emotional story some good and some bad. Lucy has been in love with Jamie for years but he has always been with Arabelle. When Arabelle betrays him and Lucy is sent to interview troops she runs into Lucy and just maybe he really was not in love with Arabelle after all. Sweet story and loved the characters but not Arabelle.
I feel guilty saying I enjoyed this book since it is set in a war zone with danger all around but I did enjoy the book. This book tugs at your heart strings and gets you involved. I loved the description of Kabul since this is not how I pictured it. Do yourself a favor and read this series.
I have been binge reading this series and love it!!! Lucy is adorable and Jamie grew on me. I did feel for him in regard to Annabelle but thought he was out of line to “accuse” Lucy of ulterior motives. I really enjoyed reading about them in Afghanistan and getting a little glimpse into the military and the country. The ending was one of my favorites and loved catching up with the characters from the previous books.
This was an enjoyable story. Lucy has always cared about Jamie but he was stuck on Annabelle. Sounds like a teen angst song, LOL. But Jamie being in the service and separated from Annabelle still clings to their relationship even though she keeps putting off their wedding. But Jamie is blindsided by Annabelle and her treachery. Lucy is the one to break the news to him and when sent on assignment to do an interview on Jamie’s base things are pretty awkward. But getting to know Lucy will show Jaimie that what he had with Annabelle was not real love. Maybe he and Lucynhave a chance at something great. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Lucy has loved Jamie for years now but he was the boyfriend and later on the fiancé of Annabelle. Lucy becomes a reporter and works together with Annabelle. Jamie’s relationship with Annabelle is a strange one but Lucy accepts it. Until a discovering rocks her and Jamie’s world. Can she help him heal, not just from home but also when she has to work in Afghanistan where he is stationed? Can he see Lucy’s worth and answer the love she’s for him?
Again a great emotional story with a lot of suspense that will keep you reading until the last page.
Very good book. Has love, faith and friendship. A reminder of how important ones worth is and pays tribute to our hard working soldiers.
The character growth, and what pushes that growth, is inspiring. We first meet the main characters as preteens. She is given advice that helps build her self-worth and confidence.
He meets Anabelle.
We meet up with them again as adults when they are thrown together in a dangerous setting, and they rekindle their friendship.
The story goes on from there. No spoilers. You’ll want to read this one yourself.
This is my favorite book out of this series! Lucy is such a strong make things happen kind of character, I would have to say she is my favorite. I loved everything about this book, especially how Jamie matured and grew into who he was meant to be. Once who read this beautiful story you will feel such respect and pride to live in America! It’s so important to thank all that are in service for all that they sacrifice. Ginny Sterling has a gift for writing!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I have enjoyed each book in this series so much. Jameson Post was in love with Annabelle from the first moment he saw her. They were a couple through high school, and became engaged. He joined the Military and was deployed to Afghanistan.
Lucy Reyes was infatuated and possibly in love with Jameson as long as she could remember. She became a news broadcaster after high school and was suddenly thrust into finding a story in Afghanistan which brought her face to face with Jameson and her past, along with how she felt about him.
As Fate would have it, Jameson would be betrayed by Annabelle and nearly destroying him. Lucy was a catalyst in things righting themselves in his life. Drama and danger await this couple before they can find their happiness. I love the characters and the HEA is beautiful..
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Lucy has always had a little crush on Jamie, ever since her school days. However Jamie has been with Annabelle as long as she can remember so that crush is never going to develop into anything so Lucy will just move on with her life using the advice from a teacher that has helped her greatly over the years. As an investigative reporter, Lucy has a great life and is stunned when she gets to go to Afghanistan to interview the troops there. She can’t believe it when Jamie is one of the men she gets to interview! Jamie has always wanted to be in the military and has been in the service for years, still involved with Annabelle who is waiting at home for him, planning their wedding….or is she? Annabelle was a total jerk to me! The way she treated people was less than kind, shall we say. Anyway, let’s just say that there is the ultimate betrayal and Jamie has to pick up the pieces. Lucy, because they’ve known each other for years, is so sweet. I loved both characters. I especially enjoyed that most of this story occurs in Afghanistan! That’s a new twist and it makes things interesting! It’s a really good story with a lot of heart and sensitivity!
