Valerio MarchioniSix years ago, I got the job I never wanted—being the head of the Italian Mafia. There’s no room to take my position lightly. I will find who’s responsible and make sure their blood runs through the streets of New York City. First, I have to send all the women I find in the process, home. Except for her, the woman with nowhere to go.

This is the first book in the Crime Family Treasures series. Valerio Marchioni is a New York City Italian mob boss whose wife is kidnapped while he is on a business trip. As he searches for his wife, Valerio frees many kidnapped women and returns them to their families except for one woman who has no place to go. He refers to this woman as Her since she won’t provide a name. This woman is placed in his home and knows if Valerio finds out who she really is that it will result in her death.
This book is intriguing but at times a little confusing. However, with that said, this novel is an entertaining and intriguing mafia read with lots of twists which keeps your reading interest. I recommend this good mafia book.

As a lover of mafia romance I was excited to read this book by a new to me author. A story centered around the inner workings of the organization and the Don and his family. I loved Valerio he had a big responsibility put on him at a young age. His love for his children endeared him to me the most. I have my theories on Kat and I liked her as a character. I’m looking forward to the next book and more from this author.
Being a huge fan of mafia romance I found this book highly entertaining with an interesting plot
Looking forward to more books by Tiffany
I love me some Mafia stories, books, movies, fan fictions whatever i love to read it. But this story’s a little different, it not only shows a little of the Mafia side of it, but a major focus, is side we don’t often see or hear of in these stories, The family and the home life.
Add to it the missing wife, and Valerio search for her, the helping of the other women who have also been kidnapping, and then Kat, it just hooks you in and doesnt let go
The fact the wife wasn’t name and referred to as “her”, I kind of liked, i cant explain why but it just made it a little more interesting for me
Im very interested to find out more about Kat, and her back story, there’s definitely more to her the meets the eye.
All in all, this book is a great start to a new series, one that i cant wait to read more of.
“The ring that changes everything. How long until he finds out my secret and this ring is ripped right off of my finger?”
Valerio Marchioni’s future was traced back to his birth. Heir to the mafia, one day he would be the boss, and because of that, he would have to follow some rules, even against his will. Marriage of convenience with a complete stranger is something that even after so long, he still resents. Everything in his life is controlled by his father. Up to the number of children he should have. Even though he loves his children, and they are the only good thing in his life, eight is a little over the top. The truth is, he didn’t want this life. But the mafia is not something you can turn your back on.
When he goes on a business trip, his house is invaded and his wife captured. And as much as he does not love her, she is the mother of his children, and only for this reason does he go looking for clues to her whereabouts. But over time, and the absence of news, his quest for her is weakening him before the other families. Torn between maintaining his power and the promise he made to his children, he is facing a difficult situation.
Following a lead, he finds several captive women, but none of them are his wife. But even so, he helps them. But one in question refuses to say who she is and where she came from.
Kat doesn’t know how long she’s been in this hell. She’s been captured, being taken from place to place, she’s filthy, hungry and terrified. At the only opportunity she has to try to escape, she is rescued. But Valerio being her savior may be worse than her fate so far.
Taken to his mansion, she refuses to give any personal information. And over time, she ends up glimpsing a side of Valerio she didn’t know existed, as well as getting attached to the children and the other residents of the house. With her life at stake, risking her heart can be fatal.
Valerio will be delighted with Kat and finally feel that he can have the life he always dreamed of. But someone is after him. And he and his family are in danger. As well as Kat.
Secrets and mysteries are part of the narrative. First book in a series, I have not found information on how many books make up the series and even if they will be standalone books or sequels, and the end is due several answers. What’s Kat secret? Who is attacking Valerio? What happened to his wife? What’s the matter with Luca?
I found Valerio too nice to be a mobster. Vicenzo has dialogues that do not match his age. The couple’s instant love didn’t convince me either.
The story is good, the plot is different, the mystery of the villain and his motive bind the reader. I will await news from the next book.

Valerio Marchioni was forced to marry a girl he never loved at 18 years old and they have 6 kids together and she is pregnant with twins. When Valerio heads out of twon for business he has a sinking feeling that something is wrong and he returns home to see his twin girls alive but their mother has been kidnapped.
Kat has been held captive for 6 months when she is rescued by a stranger looking for his wife. She knows is better to pretend she has no memories of her own past and is taken in by Valerio. She knows she has to be careful and she risks a lot if Valerio was to discover who she is.
As Valerio spends more time with Kat he can’t deny his feelings towards her but how long can he wait for his wife when he can’t locate her anywhere? Can he move on with Kat without feeling guilty and does she feel the same about him?
I really liked the premise of the book but there were parts of the book that I really struggled with and that did influence how I rated the book.
I liked Valerio and how hard he worked at trying to locate his wife at the beginning. He looked hard for about 6 months and was able to rescue other women, such as Kat, but once he found Kat it seemed to slow down his desire to keep looking. I understood that he married for duty and with Kat he found a passion unlocked within himself that made him feel differently. I liked how through the book he really began to change his focus to more of his family after everything he wrnt through and due to a conversation he had with Vincenzo.
Kat was a little bit of a mystery through the whole book and there is definitely more to come with her. I liked that at the beginning she risked her own self to protect another woman from getting hurt by her kidnappers. There were a few clues to her past when she hid from the Russians and a comment was made about wives being secret as they are the men’s greatest treasures. That had me wondering about why she was kidnapped and who was looking for her. I liked how close Kat became to Valerio’s kids and how she wanted to protect them at all costs.
My greatest obstacle in this book was the language and dialogue between the characters. For me it seemed so forced and “proper” to a point where it was actually unbelievable. When there was dialogue between Valerio and his six year old son, Vincenzo, it seemed like he was talking to at least a teenager. I have kids and I never heard them at six years old using the kind of dialogue that Vincenzo did. For me it sounded to fake and unbelievable. Every sentence and dialogue was so put together that it didn’t feel like it was honest and real and after awhile I felt that there was no real emotion coming from it as it lacked the passion I needed to feel from the characters.
The book also seemed to get over every obstacle so quick. When Valerio learned something new about Kat I was expecting more of a blow up as he was deceived but he just got over it right away which frustrated me as it didn’t feel real enough.
The end was interesting but it was solved so quick compared to the beginning that it felt like everything was going to go along perfectly which makes me wonder. The end of the book left a little bit of a clue as Luciano knows the truth about Kat but won’t tell.

This story takes you on an inside look of a Mafia boss and his family, the struggles they face as the boss over the families and how they take charge when someone threatens their own family.
This was a good story line for me and not one I usually venture into. There is all kinds of drama that surrounds Valerio while he searches for his kidnapped wife while he was away. He rescues a lot of women that have been victim of sex trafficking ring even offering to help them get to a destination of their choosing. Things change when one of the victims doesn’t choose a destination and she isn’t speaking to tell him her identity or pick a place to make her new home.
I found it a little hard to believe that a mafia boss would accept that she had no information, however it made the book a little more interesting for me to continue through the story to see who she really is in the end. We can’t know all the stuff in the beginning now can we?
Also, I am not sure how I feel that his wife wasn’t named throughout the story, she was simply referred to as ‘her’. There was another key character that was ‘him’ also. I hope with in the series they will eventually have a name.
I would like to read about the sex trafficking ring and where the girls came from and a little more background on their journey into this book, but this was a great start to a promising story.
