Oh all the love I feel towards both Patton and Rocky! These two were definitely made for each other! Patton Fletcher is the hero of Tia Louise’s newest book, Boss of Me, and is one intense, broody and arrogant alpha. He also happens to be Raquel “Rocky” Morgan’s new boss. Even though Rocky was hired on immediately after earning her MBA, she is intelligent, resourceful and quick on her feet. She brought so much to the company, but it was what she did for Patton that made me love her so much more. Patton has a lot of demons and as a former leader in the military, he takes protecting all those he cares about very seriously, almost to a fault. Being around Rocky calms him and gives him a sense of peace that he has been needing for so long.
Initially both had their own reasons to try to stave off the attraction they felt for each other, but the chemistry and connection was too strong. Once they give in to their attraction, it was intense and off the charts hot! Unfortunately there were secrets and once revealed, it caused so much pain and angsty moments. There were some seriously nail-biting scenes and my heart hurt for them both. But in the end, their love for each other pulled them back together.
I absolutely adored this book! Not only did I love Patton and Rocky’s journey towards their happily ever after but we saw a little healing for some of the secondary characters that really needed it too. Boss of Me was a wonderful 5-star read!
What do you get when you combine a brooding, stubborn, former military commander with a fiesty, stand your ground intelligent woman? A hot romance that will also melt your heart.
Patton has been trying to protect his men since they left the military. He feels responsible for the injuries his soldiers suffered and still suffer from. He has taken over his father business and has his best friends working with him to build the business so they are all secure for their futures. He is focused on the end game and doesn’t have time for distractions. In walks Raquel, beautiful, smart, and full of sass. His whole world is about to change.
Raquel is looking to make a name for herself and when she gets a position working in Patton’s firm she is thrilled and a little nervous. Her sister worked here previously and it didn’t work out so well so she is guarding herself from the “devil”, Patton. It doesn’t take long for her guard to slip and she sees him for the man he truly is even behind that grumpy personia.
This is a good book about struggles that soldiers face in coming home and returning to the mainstream as well as struggles smart women sometimes face in the business world. Throw lust and love into the mix and you have a heart melting love story.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it. It is a stand alone although there are characters from other books by this author and I hope will be more books about other characters we come to love in this story.
This book revolves around the leader of a group of four military men. My heart broke for these men and what they went through. The love of a good woman can make a world of difference though. When Raquel gets hired on she’s extremely excited to start her new job in the corporate world. Patton isn’t so sure bringing another female into the office is a good idea, after all there were issues the last time they had one working with them. When Patton and Raquel discovered their chemistry is off the charts they struggle with the appropriateness of them pursuing a relationship, due to the fact he is her boss.
Patton easily pulled at my heartstrings when he strives to always make things better for everyone else. He feels so responsible to watch over his friends that it makes you want someone to just watch over him. Who makes things better for him? Since Raquel holds the same protective streak she may just be the one good thing he needs the most.
I really appreciated that they (both as individuals and as a couple) were so relatable. Their story was fun and romantic at times as well as intense and heated at others. But isn’t that how relationships are in the real world? I don’t believe anyone has greatness without some type of struggle. Having a couple go through real world issues makes you root for the characters and makes the book hard to put down.
This was a fabulous book and I’m hoping that some of the supporting characters get their own books as well. I want more of this great world the author has created.
OMG this book…the chemistry, the slow building mystery, the drama …all of it was off the charts. Tia Louise has done it again with this amazing story and wonderful characters. Boss of Me is the perfect office love story.
Boss of Me is my favorite Tia book to date. Tia Louise emotionally slayed with this book. It’s heartfelt, sinful, sexy, steamy, emotional and has all of the great qualities of a Tia Louise book. I’m a huge fan of her work but there was something about Patton and Raquel’s story that made this book extra special. It really was magical. I’m in awe of this book and these wonderful characters.
Tia delivered one hell of a romance by n Boss Of Me. Patton and Rocky are crazily amazing together and the side characters were simply fabulous. There were plenty of swoon worthy moments throughout as well as some drama and angst. The trauma and drama that Patton and his men have been though was very well written and added an additional layer to the story. I really hope we get more from this group of characters in the future.
This book has everything I want and expect in a five star read, I was captivated from the first page to the last line and I couldn’t put it down. If you love alpha males you will love Patton Fletcher he is a swoon worthy intense brooding male who will steal a piece of your heart once you break through the walls he has put up around himself. This book starts off with Patton and his friends military career and we learn how they were all traumatised with their last mission and we learn why their friendships have survived. The office they work in is very much a male world but that’s about to change when Raquel (Rocky) Morgan is hired, she is a sassy spitfire who takes no nonsense even from her boss Patton. Rocky is the perfect girl for Patton she is not afraid to look behind the walls he puts up and she is not afraid to chip away at the chip he carries on his shoulder and she also brings light into the darkness that’s surrounding this group of men. This is a well written touching story about a group of characters who have been through the wars, it has the perfect mix of love, drama and angst and I really hope we get more from Patton’s friends in future books. Great captivating read that I highly recommend.
“All I can think is if this is wrong, if he’s the devil, then take me to hell. I’ll go willingly.”
Raquel “Rocky”, is an intelligent, driven, stubborn woman. She is also the new hire at Fletcher International Inc. and already a pain in Patton’s rear. Patton refuses to admit that Raquel is amazing at her job. Raquel feels like she is working for the devil, but this devil radiates sexy. The chemistry between Raquel and Patton was enough to catch the pages on fire. I did not want to put this book down. A wonderful story with plenty of feels and a beautiful HEA.
