Rand, the Viscount of Aylesford, needs a wife to keep land that his grandmother would only give to him if he’s betrothed to someone. So he hatches a plan to have a fake betrothal and he chooses Miss Grace Winter. But to the rakes confusion, he cannot convince her to go along with his plan. What woman hasn’t fallen for him, well apparently Miss Grace hasn’t. This novella is funny and a joy to read. How a man who is a known rake of woman falls for a lady who isn’t interested in him or his wealth. Another great quick read!
I started out thinking that marrying off a whole family of sisters at one house party might be asking a lot, but the best part of this series is watching these sisters help find the perfect mates for each other. Grace and Rand should have nothing in common. Grace is too stubborn and Rand is rake-hell who only wants a fake fiance to inherit an estate from his formidable grandmother (who is hellbent on seeing him settled). After blackmailing Grace into a fake betrothal, Rand starts realizing that Grace is more perfect for him than he ever would have guessed. The last two chapters are the cutest!
Love this series. Enjoyable to read. Can’t wait for more.
This story is about Grace Winters who is determined NOT to marry a title as her brother, the fabulously rich Dev Winters wishes. He wants respectability for his family and marrying blue blood will assure that. At a Christmas house party, the wicked rake, Rand, Viscount Aylesford, who is heir to a dukedom, needs a fiancee now. It is a requirement of his grandmother before she will deed him Tyre Abbey an estate in Scotland. He settles on Grace since she is the only woman who seems unmoved by him – therefore, breaking the engagement after he attain the Abbey will pose no problem. What he did not account for was his immediate attraction to the practical but warm Grace. What ensues are adventures which prove true love can not be denied! Very entertaining!
Another Winter sister is approached by a Duke at her brother’s house party. Using blackmail over her possession of a very interesting book of sexual information no lady should have, he leaves her no choice except to accept his fake betrothal. His goal is to possess a property controlled by his grandmother. Much to his surprise, the young lady waylays his plans. Sexual desire takes hold and love enters the picture. This is a wonderful series with strong Winter ladies who won’t settle for anything less than love. Humor and steamy sex.
Rand, Viscount Aylesford must become betrothed in order to get his grandmother to relinquish his childhood favorite home Tyre Abbey. While at a house party he sets upon the idea of Grace Winters being his pretend betrothed so he can get Tyre Abbey. Grace flat refuses his proposal, thinking he’s the rake and rouge of the first water and to stay away from him. Rand finds her reading the Book of Love and being the scoundrel he his steals the book and blackmails her into helping him. They’re attracted to each other, one kiss leads to another and the passions flame as they explore the possibilities. Love them they were so much fun to read about as they discover they do not want the betrothal to be a sham, but a real one. An excellent story with wonderful characters I voluntarily wrote a review for.
Rand needs a fiancée if he is going to get his hands on the beloved property of his youth. But he is not ready to be married, so he requires a fiancée that knows they will never actually get married and will cry off at the appropriate time. When he meets Grace, he is determined that she be the one. His only problem is that she rebuffs him at every turns. Rand is not used to being turned down and this intrigues him even more…
Grace’s brother is determined to see her and her sisters married. But this is the last thing that Grace wants. When Rand approaches her with his scheme, she immediately turns him down. She knows that he is a rogue and not to be trusted. But when they kiss, she has doubts about her decision.
With Rand chasing Grace, they end up spending quite a bit of time together. Could this fake betrothal turn into one in truth?
I absolutely adored Rand and Grace’s story!! We met both in the previous books in the series and I just knew that Grace was going to take Rand on a merry chase and Scott did not disappoint! I loved the bantering between the two of them. I was laughing throughout the story!
While you can certainly read this as a stand alone, I would definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series first. I think you will get so much more out of the story as they are all closely linked. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out!!
Willful in Winter by Scarlett Scott is book 4 in The Wicked Winters Series. This is the story of Grace Winter and Rand, Viscount Aylesford. I did feel this could be a standalone book.
Rand is in need of a fake fiancee to obtain some important property that he wants. Rand thinks that Grace might be the one to be his pretend fiancee. Grace is the stubborn sibling but her brother has set goals to marry his siblings off to good titled noblemen. Grace has no real interest in this nor at first when Rand voice his needs. But she does come on board for this pretend arrangement until a kiss is shared and things do feel so much like pretending.
Loved this sweet funny story.
I have loved the Winters series so very much! The series can be read separately as stand alones but I highly recommend reading them all! I did not stop reading once I started. I do not do spoilers as what is the point if you intend to read! I will simply tell you this book is full of wit, charm, humor and alot of HEAT! Rand and Grace are truly matched on equal levels so their dialogue is so engaging and fun to read. The HEA was done so well it left an ear to ear grin on my face! I can not wait for the next in this series! I did read an arc of this story but I also purchased book as well. I will always tell you if I truly enjoyed a book or not. And this book? I am going to enjoy over and over again!
I enjoyed this fast paced story so very much!! I was given this book by the amazing Author for an honest review!
Viscount Rand needs a fake betrothal with one of the Wicked Winters sisters. Miss. Grace Winter is his choice, she is beautiful and strong!! Little does Lord Rand know that Grace is stubborn and self assured.
He asks her directly and she says no, he is a rake and very full of himself, so he is very shocked! He expected her to say yes to their arrangement. She then tells him he is not her type and that he is too slender, and needs, “to eat pie!” I cracked up as I read this, I recommend you read the book to fully understand this!! 🙂
When Grace agrees to their fake engagement, that’s when the chemistry, the attraction between them starts to become steamy!!
I really love this series, it is captivating, a page turner, addictive, funny and full of overprotective and loving siblings!! I love attention to details, and Scarlett Scott does not disappoint in that or in any area. Each book has a unique story line and of a happily ever after ending. Also, I love Epilogues.
Willful in Winter was a delightful, steamy story. I love the banter between the characters, and I like how the author uses a book to draw the characters closer. Now I am excited to read the other books in the series.
Who doesn’t enjoy a fake engagement. Rand needs this to get his money and Grace needs this to keep other men away. They have a connection that sends sparks. Their personalities just mesh also. His outgoing and her reserved one make then a great match. The kiss they share shows it the most. Her reaction she cannot believe for his is great. But this is a fake arrangement not real. Or will it be?
Willfull in winter was a marvelous read. Scarlett has a wonderful way of weaving her stories, making us connect with the characters and their situations. I especially have enjoyed the sisters relationships.
