I finished the story, read the excerpt for the next one, and now I’m counting down until I can revisit Misty-on-the-Sound again.Pepper Sullivan just solved the first murder that quiet Misty-on-the-Sound has seen in decades with the help of her trusty canine companion, Mr. Woogles. She’s hoping everything will calm down now, so she can get back to building her law practice and spending her free … spending her free time belting out Broadway songs.
But when the town’s richest and most famous son, Everett Pursley the Third, comes back to lead the “Lights on the Sound” parade of boats on Labor Day weekend, tragedy strikes again. The millionaire’s wife is found drowned. Was it an accident?
As usual, Pepper’s one-time boyfriend Sheriff Logan Bateman needs her help to figure out what happened—but he doesn’t want it. When her gorgeous next-door neighbor, Dr. Angelo D’Amore, provides an unexpected clue, Logan seems a mite jealous. And Pepper can’t get far enough away from the pesky new guy in town, Josh Devlin. Nevertheless, the attributes of all three potential “suitors” are gleefully dissected by Pepper’s pushy mom.
In the end, Pepper must harness all her skills as a sleuth to uncover the culprit and unravel the mystery of the lady who was launched.

Mr. Woogles finds the clue to solve the case!!
Pepper Sullivan and her beagle, Mr. Woogles
are living on Misty-on-the Sound. Pepper is
an attorney plus a singer.
Pepper is with a group on the beach watching
the “Lights on the Sound” parade of boats on
Labor Day weekend. The town’s rich and
famous, Everett Pursley the Third and his wife
have come back to town to lead the parade.
Someone yells “Woman Overboard” then two
people fully dressed come out of the water up
the beach then disappear.
Later, it is discovered that Everett Pursley the
Third’s wife is DEAD!! Did she fall overboard and
drown?? Or is something sinister happening??
Pepper and Mr. Woogles decide to investigate
after her legal beagle discovers a clue to the
dead woman.
The story was fast paced with a steady stream
of intrigue, smooth writing, interesting well casted
characters plus plenty of suspense, humor and
a touch of romance.
This is book # 2 in the Legal Beagle Cozy Mysteries
series. It can be read as a stand alone.
I volunteered to read Treble with the Law. Thanks to
the author via Booksprout for the opportunity. My
opinion is voluntary and my own.
Pepper, even after wanting to stay out of this investigation, gets sucked into it. Mr. Woogles helps by finding an important clue. Even Logan admits that Pepper helped move the investigation to conclusion faster.
I really love Jessa Archer’s books. Every one of her series have wonderful characters, intriguing mysteries to solve, and fun extra little things to keep the story going and causing the reader to keep turning the page. This one is one of my favorites because it has Mr. Woogles. If my next fur baby is a boy I’m naming him Mr. Woogles!

With a dog like Mr. Woogles, how can you not love this story? Lots of action and with great characters (including Mr. Wooglees), this is an awesome cozy that has me anxiously awaiting the next book!

“In the end, Pepper must harness all her skills as a sleuth to uncover the culprit and unravel the mystery of the lady who was launched.”
Archer crafts her characters with care, building stories that are multifaceted and intriguing. Pepper isn’t always miles ahead of local law enforcement; but she’s right there in the thick of things when the story comes to its conclusion.
I really liked this character – maybe because I like her dog too – and I’m looking forward to reading more about them, and about Misty.
I great read I can really recommend!

TREBLE WITH THE LAW is the third book in the Legal Beagle Cozy Mystery series. Each will stand on its own, but I would strongly suggest reading them in the order of release.
You can’t go wrong with a dog that will try to sing along with you. Also, I like Pepper and her profession. It’s not easy to be a strong yet feminine woman.
I enjoyed this fun little cozy mystery. It’s not very deep, but it is fun.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

A drowning during a local flotilla of boats is revealed to be murder.
Naturally Pepper is in the middle of things again.
Does her ex Logan, now Sheriff, want her help, or does he just want to keep her safe?
Is there more than one suitor for Pepper?
For a seaside town, Misty has a high rate of murder and mayhem. The opening of a new airport, funded by a well to do local family is likely to mean a much larger pool of potential victims and suspects- especially as the locale faces growing pains while in transition to a seaside destination on a grander scale.
Much ado!
