Miguel wants to be noticed.Miguel Cordero Ruiz always considered himself straight, but his sexy anatomy professor, Dr. Cummings, is making him seriously rethink that. While the professor who lives across the street is supposedly a “bird watcher,” it’s rumored he’s really spying on the male students who live in Miguel’s building. When rumor is confirmed as fact, Miguel decides to give the … give the professor a show he won’t forget.
Aldrich is afraid of being seen.
Aldrich Cummings has led a lonely existence. That all changes when he sees his gorgeous new neighbor moving in across the street. When he discovers the guy he’s been secretly watching from his office window is not only aware of his audience, but is enjoying it, Aldrich is even more entranced. Miguel is his student, and therefore off-limits, but what the administration doesn’t know won’t hurt them.
It was supposed to be harmless and meaningless voyeurism.
As time passes, the desire between them burns so brightly it inevitably explodes. Both will face consequences if the university finds out what the professor and his student have been getting up to. They will need to navigate the obstacles in their path to find the happiness both have been searching for.
Now You See Me is a steamy 78,000 word stand-alone MM novel. It contains one not-straight Navy vet, one professor afraid of being touched, nosy relatives, nosier neighbors, troublesome colleagues, voyeurism, The Pleasure Chest, a bondage staircase, binoculars, a Maginot Line made from pillows, and a HEA for two men who deserve happiness.

This was such an amazing, well-written book. The characters are three dimensional and original, the romance is real and has all the feels, and the writing style draws you in from page one. I love this author’s penchant for complex, messed up characters, and this book is no exception. But what a wonderful journey to find some healing and a very happy ever after. Add a dash of kink and this ticks all my boxes.
This is a new to me author and I love a bit of voyeurism, but it went off tracked at about 30% and I just couldn’t pull myself back. Not a strong enough connection between Miguel and his “prof” to justify going any further…
This was a really interesting read.
Sure, it might be more sexy times than plot.
Sure, it wasn’t the deepest of books.
But,
It was interesting. A whole new take on the trope.
And it was hot.
So, so hot.
I’m a bit emotionally drained from reading it though. Not gonna lie.
So, I read the blurb for Now You See Me and it sounded interesting and well, while I haven’t read/listened to all of Lynn Van Dorn’s books, the ones I have are among my favorites, so I jumped at the chance to listen to this story and while it wasn’t what I expected, I really enjoyed it.
Miguel was all kinds of adorable and sweet and hot and while younger than Aldrich and one of his students, I felt they were on pretty equal ground. Miguel just knew how to give Aldrich what he needed when Aldrich didn’t even know it himself, gaining the handsome professor’s trust in a way that no one had until then. And Aldrich, well, my heart broke for him at having to deal with his selfish aunt after losing his parents so young. It’s no wonder he was such a hot mess and avoided touch like the plague, even if he craved the connection he finally found with Miguel. It wasn’t easy and they both made mistakes and I loved that Luna (Miguel’s neighbor and friend) was there to point them both in the right direction when they needed it the most. The progression of their relationship was very realistic and I really liked that Miguel was able to push through Aldrich’s defenses and that while their relationship had a very unconventional start, it gave way to something deeper, more meaningful as time passed. They were hot together, but it was more than that, they just connected in ways that neither of them anticipated and that was the best part of the story.
This book had the potential to be an angst-fest, but it was offset with the presence and support and comedic relief that Luna, Dev and Miguel’s family provided—I just adored them all, by the way—and the hotness that was Miguel and Aldrich together, be it in the bedroom or through their texting/sexting or just being there for each other.
I really liked Kirt Graves’s performance, he gave all the characters a distinctive voice, somehow managing to imprint a lot of their personality in it. Also as a Spanish native speaker, I can be very particular over books/audiobooks that have a lot of Spanish in it, but Kirt’s Spanish was actually better than I expected, so that’s always a good thing.
This book has a bit of very light power play in it and some mentions of attempted rape, so if that’s not your thing, proceed with care, but other than that, I have no trouble recommending it.
* AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *
I liked this story because it had the right amount of feelings and complications in it to make me pay really good attention to it.
Aldrich and Miguel are very different but I’m very charmed by Aldrich and the challenges he has to overcome, also Miguel has a personality that is so patient.
The characters is very well written and their familiar to me when the book ends. These are characters I would love to know what else is happening to them.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Secondary characters that are intriguing and deserves their own stories.
Narrator:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings, enjoyable listening to.

Excellent read! H/c. I genuinely love all of Lynn Van Dorn’s books.
I’d absolutely recommend it. M/M
Wow! Amazing story of amazing MCs!
The author introduces us to a story full of angst, nerves and passion. Sizzling hot, amazingly deep in terms of emotions and feelings. Could not put the book down!
WOAH! I knew this book would be good, but it far surpassed just good. It was amazing which really shouldn’t be a surprise considering the author. Lynn has written another fantastic story.
This is definitely in my top books for 2019. I couldn’t put this book down.
NYSM is HOT HOT HOT and then MORE HOT! You may want to reconsider reading this in public. I’m not exaggerating. This is one of the sexiest books you’ll ever read. Especially if one of the MCs being called Papi does it for you.
The relationship. It starts out weird and unexpectedly, but in a good way. What does that mean? Well, read the book! But seriously, they have an unconventional relationship that works for them. I will say that I could see some readers not getting into aspects of their relationship, but I just ask you to read with an open mind and consider that this relationship is genuine and unique to Miguel and Aldrich. It works for them and that’s part of the beauty.
The characters. The MCs are drawn to each other and fit together in unique ways, making for a refreshing read. The side characters are fun, wacky, and definitely add to the story. I wouldn’t mind a book on Josue!
And the final chapter. It was perfection.
