I was so excited to read this and I sure wasn’t disappointed!!
Too bad I couldn’t give more stars than 5.
This certainly does deserve it! Better than any young adult book I’ve read before!
The action, characters and the plot oh my! I so enjoyed this book!! I stayed up most of the night reading this and it was so worth it!!
Edmund and Maribel are just awesome!
I hated to say goodbye to them.
Here’s a favorite quote
“God has indeed answered our prayers in a way we can never imagine”. Folks this os so very true!! God Will answer our prayers just maybe not as we’d like or right when we want Him to. But He does answer.
Maribel was special and had a special talent.
Edmund had told her to use her gift the way God had intended.
I’m looking forward to the next one!! Emmaline still has a story. I’m ready for her too. These ladies can certainly surprise us!
I won’t writing a very long review but sometimes I can’t help myself.
I don’t want to give anything away but y’all this book!! Now I’m going to have to add these to my shelf when my husband gets paid again. These are truly Jodys best work.
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.
‘God had indeed answered our prayer in a way we’d never been able to envision on our own.’
This quote reminded me of Ephesians 3:20 because God is able to do more than we can even dare to dream of.
I am a Jody Hedlund fan and I absolutely love her medieval stories! I personally think this is her forte, too! She brings us book two in her Lost Princesses series, telling the tale of Maribel, one of the twin princesses who was spirited away by a loyal servant when the evil King Ethelwulf took over the castle and murdered her parents. Maribel has been hidden in a convent high in the mountains and has no idea of her identity. She was taught the healing arts from an old nun and she herself has every intention of taking the vows and tending the sick and injured. But the sudden appearance of the old Sister Katherine changes her life completely. Now, her dear friend Edmund must take her away to join her older sister to join forces to fight the evil king and help find her remaining twin.
I loved this very much! Hedlund tells a medieval tale so well that this reader was captivated and stayed up quite late to finish this book. I highly recommend not only this book but the series.
*My thanks to the author and publisher for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
This series continues to captivate and draw me in. This particular book focuses in on one of the twin sisters Maribel. She was raised in a convent and trained in the ways of medicine. She fully intends to become a nun. It’s the only thing she knows. I find it intriguing how she grows throughout the story. Edmund is tasked with protecting her and seeing her safely to her sister the queen. However, a few adventures occur along the way. It seems Maribel isn’t as quiet and reserved as one would think. Definitely a great read for all ages teens and above. I received a copy of this book from the author. All views expressed here are my own.
