WHEN A PRUDISH SPINSTER… forgets even her own name when he touches her.
MEETS A SHAMELESS LIBERTINE…
Harris Darroch is no hero. Not a romantic one in any case. His libertine reputation puts his heroic prowess exclusively in the bedchamber. And he will bed any and every willing woman in sight. But when a prudish lady approaches him begging him to write off her father’s debt, he sees no reason not to enlist her buttoned-up person to his bed for the trouble. Living in close quarters with her is building up a desire, the likes of which he’s never seen before. Though wanting him, the little shrew remains aloof. Practising his ‘convincing’ skills on her will be an utter delight!
LOVE WILL LURK IN THE SHADOWS TO CATCH THEM!

Her Wicked Libertine (ebook) by Lisa Torquay … Thanks so much to Lisa for asking me to preview this book… I enjoyed the first book in this series HER WICKED EARL as I did this book. We meet Otilia and Edmond again in this book which is fun… Harris Darroch whose libertine reputation speaks for itself. Edwina Whitman had a repressively religious education and is all but on the shelf. Her parents died in a ship wreck and her father owes a great deal of money to Harris. She has to find a way to pay off the debt…and the fun begins.. tears, angst, laughter, wonderful characters and lots of steamy sex all get us to a very HEA. My only complaint is if I read the word “delectation” I might scream…. I am looking forward to HER WICKED DUKE next.
Steamy!
The first thing that had me going was, what did the word libertine mean and so I Googled it and the definition that fits best is ‘usually a man who indulges freely in sensual pleasures without regard to moral principles’. (Oxford).
Ok, so Harris, the libertine referred to, must be a ‘rake’ then.
Oh boy, was he in for a surprise when he met up with Edwina who had been brought up in a repressive religious home, one that taught her to basically shut her eyes and think of other things during the sexual act so that she shouldn’t take pleasure in it.
What goes on between these two is simply entertaining and I was thoroughly captivated by this unusual and well told story. And yes, there are some very heated moments too.
It is a page-turner, for sure, which also has a really lovely happily-ever-after ending and I am definitely recommending this book as it is one not to be missed.
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and my review above is given voluntarily and is unbiased.
