His thoughts are less than angelic around her….Jagger Hancock is a fearsome warrior for the angelic realm, slaying demons left and right on Earth and protecting the human race. But when a powerful senator is murdered, he’s reduced to acting as a bodyguard for the grieving daughter. Too bad she’s the same female who ruined his one and only chance at happiness. Felicia Montclaire looks as … Montclaire looks as angelic as the rest of her kind, but she hides her scars well. Yet the male who gave them to her is not just after her again, but seeking conquest over the entire realm too. While her life goes up in flames once more, the last thing she needs is a cranky bodyguard…even if he’s the only one who can keep her alive.
Jagger and Felicia might not survive each other, much less the constant attacks from their enemies. But when danger drives them back to the angelic realm, they’ll discover their past is waiting for them—and it’s far more dangerous than anything on Earth.
Wicked Fire is book 2 in the Angel Fire series, an exciting new paranormal romance series by an award-winning author.
more
Book two sees Angel warrior Jagger acting as a bodyguard for the woman who ruined his happiness…..
Felicia doesn’t want a bodyguard, and she certainly doesn’t want the Angel that is totally rude to her, but he seems to be the only Angel for the job….
Oh Lord!! This follows on from book one, and as I’ve read the book it follows nicely.
But you could read this book without reading book one.
A fast paced action story that just didn’t stop.
Without giving too much away from book one, there is a power play going on, sides are being drawn up, and a little double crossing is going on.
Jagger and Felicia appear in book one, and they don’t really get on too well!
And it’s definitely a hate/hate relationship at first.
But the more Jagger is around Felicia, the harder it is to stay angry at her.
Marie Johnston brings this world to life with her brilliant descriptions. Building this world up steadily with the introduction of a few characters, instead of bombarding us with a legion of characters (and not always needed) Jagger and Felicia are such opposites you do have to wonder where the author was taking this book…
But they work, Jagger is just the Angel for the job when they have to return to the angelic realm.
But danger lurks behind every corner! And it could cost Felicia her life!
I loved the book, not as much as book one. But I’m going to recommend this book if you love Angel/warriors and a fight to claim their love and their mates.
Book three sounds really intriguing
The next installment in the series
Seven years ago, Felicia and her sister were attacked. Felicia was horribly disfigured so she chose to leave their realm and live on earth in anonymity. Unfortunately someone is stirring up trouble for her again and she’s in terrible danger.
Warrior Jagger has his own demons and secrets. When he’s assigned to guard Felicia, one of the thorns in his side, he tries to get out of it. Unsuccessfully. Can the two of them work together and save their lives as well as those of the entire realm?
The storyline was greatly written and the characters were so well created that I felt like I was being pulled right into Jagger and Felicia’s story as it unfolded!
In this sequel to Angel Fire, we see the repercussions of the denizens of Numen – angels – steadfastly ignoring anything unpleasant or bad. To whit: one of their own, a fallen, has built an empire on earth with the sole intent of finding a way to return to Numen and take it over. Secrets built on lies to cover shame have assured that for decades, Jameson Haddock has done his dirty work with minimal interference from the enforcers.
This strong allegory is also a romance, of course, pairing two souls wounded by family fall-out. Jagger and Felicia meet in Angel Fire and clearly cannot stand each other, but Jagger is assigned to protect Felicia and they have to learn how to get along. Of course, the theme of needing to look below the surface applies most strongly to these two, and once they do, they start to like what they see. Regardless, though, with such terrible models of a happy bond in their respective parents, can they trust that love and happiness will last forever?
As with Angel Fire, there is a mystery and a great deal of action. I find it easier this time to keep everything – team members, jobs, titles, and good/bad guys – straight, having been introduced to the world in book 1. There is a denouement of sorts, but the action will continue in the third book, Demon Fire – so I’ll have to hang on to find out if earth is safe after all. I rarely read fantasy, but I love Marie’s writing and will happily take on any realm with her. I received an advance copy in return for my honest review.
I love this series! Jagger and Felicia’s story is one hell of a ride!
Intense, thrilling and sexy!
Great characters, alluring storyline and outstanding world building!
Looking forward to reading the next book!
