A simple kiss, and everything she knows bursts into flame… beat up SUV on a mountain road to some weird little town, assisting her cousin’s search for… dragons?
Dolan MacBrayne doesn’t have time to keep some TV cryptozoology investigator and her cousin from uncovering the family secret – they’re dragon shifters. He’s spent centuries building a financial empire and managing any crisis that comes along, but he isn’t prepared for Maude’s legal expertise, or for her to defend her family as fiercely as he defends his own.
But it’s best to keep your enemies closer, right? Hiring Maude as a temporary mediation specialist keeps her close, and under a non-disclosure agreement, all while lightening his workload. It’s a win all around, until he breaks every rule by not keeping his hands off the elegant lawyer.
When Dolan touches the strange pendant left to her by her mysterious great-aunt, it unleashes fire magic, and creates a mate-bond more binding than any legal contract she’s ever drafted.
As Maude discovers her powers and Dolan races to solve the most heart-wrenching family crisis yet, they must work together to stop revenge from destroying Black Moon Peak, their families, and the magic bonding them for eternity.
Seared by the Dragon is a full-length standalone HEA in the Black Moon Peak ‘verse. Dragons growl and witches charm to make sure Dolan and Maude get their happy ever after, though some events continue from or into the other books in the MacBrayne Clan Series.

I really enjoyed this series – I just have one question: why can I not get the next book in the series?
Book two in the MacBrayne Clan a well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading Maude Broadcraft and dragon shifter Dolan MacBrayne’s story and want to read the next book. I received an ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Seared by the Dragon (MacBrayne Clan Book 2) by Emily Oscar is an amazing story to read. This is book number two in this series that I fell in love with. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about dragon shifters and paranormal romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Wow, this is a great addition. Well written with a good storyline. This picks up right where the first book ended. This one is about Dolan and Maude . Love the action, suspense, romance, magic and all the characters. I was so memorized with the world built in this story. There are witches, wolves and dragons. I really enjoyed this read and I know you will to. Can not wait for more.
From the moment that I started reading my advanced copy I was spellbound!
This book was fantastic from beginning to end. Maude went on vacation to get away from everything involving her rat of an ex and ends up meeting Dolan, her mate. It was filled with humorous banter, excitement, and suspense as the couple work together to harness Maude’s newly discovered magic while attempting to save his brother.

Seared by the dragon
Maude Broadcraft is a planner and organizer. She has mapped out her life in five-year increments of the Master Success Plan. Get through law school, get a great internship, become a successful corporate attorney, get married, have children. It seemed to be working until reality told her that her fiancé had been success planned, sex was even scheduled and she was being planned in a boring, unfulfilling and unexciting life. Maude burned out and left it all behind.
Her cousin, Mildred, is almost the exact opposite of Maude. She is part of a film crew that chases paranormal occurrences and rumors across the world for a TV show. She helps Maude move out of her standard plan condo with the fiancé (leaving the standard Tiffany ring) and goes on an adventure to Black Moon Falls to hunt dragons.
Maude is along for the distraction and to spend time with her favorite cousin, who is more like a sister. She’ll figure life out after a little break. Black Moon Falls is nothing like she imagined. Black Moon Peak is full of quirky people, business names and street names. Main street is called Wolfsbane. Town businesses include: The Crooked Cauldron Café, The Broken Broomstick Saloon, The Fly-By-Night Bar, Serendipity Soapery, Alchemy Apothecary and Misfit Ink.
Maude sees a man that just sticks out, even in Black Moon Falls. A man in a suit that would be more at home on Wall Street than in a small town in the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
Maude and her carefully crafted life is about to take ride on the wild side. She meets Dolan MacBrayne and instantly know that this man does not schedule sex. One sweet kiss changes everything and they are mate-bonded. Oh and those dragons that Mildred, called Dred, was hunting… they are real!
I loved this third installment of Black Moon Falls. It leaves a lot of loose ends for us to learn more about the MacBraynes, Rawley, the witches and other dragon clans. This was a page-turner. I love visiting Black Moon Falls and cannot wait to go back!
Anticipating the next book!
“Seared by the Dragon” is the second book in the “MacBrayne Clan” series and picks up where book 1 left off. This is a well-written action-packed suspenseful paranormal tale that was an enjoyable read. The character development is on par with the story and the chemistry between the main characters is steamy, sexy and real. This mysterious tale is well worth the read and will keep you on your toes and excited to meet new characters added to the series as you get reacquainted with the original characters. This is a fun read.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
This series is in my top favorites for the year. The first was amazing in introducing us to BMP and the MacBrayne clan. It also left you with a bit of a cliffhanger. No worries, this picks up right where the last left off. And oh wow, I think it was even better. Dolan and Maude were just perfect for one another. Their banter, their chemistry and the depth of their feelings was absolutely perfect. But there is so much more going on. The dragons and the witches are working together to help Rawley. However, the mystery and the players is bigger than any of them thought. New characters are introduced and all our favorites are still present. Action packed, loads of suspense and a whole lotta love. Not just among the mates either. The love of family, friends and clan is strong in this series. It’s just one of the things that make it great. I’m not going to spoil anything. The end will make the wait for the next book very difficult. Normally I automatically take away a star for this. I personally just hate being left hanging. But I could not bring myself to do it. the book was just that good. So wait anxiously I will. This is my voluntary review of an advanced copy I received. Though that did not have any bearing on opinion. This will be in my re-read pile for sure.
