OMG! What a thrilling page turner, and a brilliant follow on from the first book!! the stories easy flow together.
These two authors have worked their magic again!….
I absolutely love it!
This isn’t as dark as the first book, but it was enough to fed my love for dark books!!
I liked the way this is told from a two way view, it enhances the enjoyment of the story and allows you to feel more invested in these characters.
I found this very well written and I was pulled into this, kept on the edge till the end! And what a end!!
Absolutely brilliant…. I can’t wait for book 3
I can highly recommend this, and these authors.
The first few chapters felt a little slow, but it soon picked up pace and then it felt like non-stop action until the very end. Zaya and Grigory ha me utterly enamoured with them. Zaya with her strength edged with vulnerability and Grigory with his play-boy exterior that hid a man who not only took his responsibilities seriously, but who also cared deeply.
Whilst this can be read stand alone, I do think the enjoyment will be enhanced if you have read Happily Ever Crowned (Underworld Royals #1) by Lexi C. Foss the previous book. Though I also need to warn that Crowned has some very dark scenes in the beginning. Bitten is an exciting, twisty, scorching hot and totally unpredictable paranormal romance. There are lies, plots, secrets and the usual manipulation behind the scenes by Lucifer. I still want to poke his eyes out, but without his cruel plotting Zaya wouldn’t be the woman she is.
I felt this got the balance between plot and romance just right. The amazing story was enhanced by the scorching hot scenes between Zaya and Grigory, not to mention the tender moments that convinced me of the their feelings for one another. I want to say nothing felt unrealistic, which would be silly because this is a book about demons, magic and the underworld. However what I really mean is that the characters felt real, I was there with them, not just reading about them. Their battles became my battles and I became totally wrapped up in their tale.
This is a great book that I highly recommend to those who enjoy a well written paranormal/demons romance. I can’t wait for book 3!
This is book two in the series but can be read as a stand-alone though I do think it will add to the experience if book one is read first just for added background and context.
Be aware though that book one is a lot darker than this one.
So this focuses on characters we were introduced to previously in the first book in this series Zaya and Grigory.
It takes place roughly 18 months after that and during this time both of them have become much closer and not just because of the blood bond they share.
Due to Grigory’s ascension and a prior betrothal he tries to keep his distance doing his duty to his kingdom rather than following his heart.
But when his awful bride to be Napia of Neptune arrives in Noxia events are propelled into motion forcing both Zaya and Grigory to fully embrace there destiny’s and finally each other.
I really enjoyed this one and loved both Zaya and Grigory as characters.
Zaya has been through hell and has only emerged stronger as a result.
Grigory though he’s taken a while to get the memo has finally woken up and grabbed what he wants with both hands consequences be damned.
I especially adored there interactions and familiarity.
There affection and love towards each other felt genuinely real.
This also had plenty of action as well as some serious sexy times and we also get to catch up with some familiar past characters.
This one was an easy page-turner and I’m already anticipating book three which looks like it will be set in Neptune kingdom can’t wait.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Happily Ever Bitten.

Zaya and Grigory’s story is a unique storyline with well developed characters, danger, suspense, intrigue and a captivating world. If you read book one Happily Ever Crowned then you know what happened to Zaya. If you haven’t read it I recommend you read it so you will fully understand what happened. This book picks up about a year after book one and Grigory and Zaya’s relationship is a slow burn and they have intense chemistry together. I loved how protective he is over Zaya. I loved these two together! Happily Ever Bitten is an intense story and I can’t wait to read the next book in this captivating series.
I love this new book in the Underworld Royals series!!! Zaya and Grigory are great characters in this series!!! Love a great vampire book then read this series and enjoy!!!
Love this series
intense emotional broken heartstopping amazing love story of grigiry and zaya
all the feels ready for more
I’ve been Bitten by the Underworld
The second book in this fantastic paranormal series is finally hereIt’s not as dark as the first one but still has some mighty unexpected truths and excitement for our underworld couple Zaya and Grigory A must read addition to the series and I’m thrilled to know we have more coming as we get taken to Neptune Kingdom next
Thank you Lexi for my advanced copy for which I willingly leave my honest review
Wow!!! This is a very dark book but I’ve have to say how impressed I am with Zaya. Her courage and strength is admirable. She endured some heartbreaking abuse and trauma yet she carries on. It is so empowering to anyone who has ever had to endure hardship yet holds there head up high. Of course I’m also loving the connection, attraction and sparks between her and Grigory as I’m a diehard romantic and this book has plenty of that!
This is a magical dark paranormal read. It’s intense at times but there’s also humour and heat as a counterbalance.
I loved the first book in the series, and this story delivers the same drama and suspense in equal measure. The characters are a diverse and fascinating medley of good and bad, and the two main characters seem diametrically opposed to begin with, but we all know what they say about opposites.
This book works as a standalone but to get the full underworld experience I suggest the first book should be read before this one. Plus, it’s a cracking yarn, so why wouldn’t you?
A captivating story with a tortuous plot and more than one surprise revealed along the way…I received an advance copy from the authors
I’m loving these Underworld Royals.
Happily Ever Bitten is the second book in the Underworld Royals series and is Grigory, the Prince of Noxia and Zaya, a Graystall Halfling’s story.
We first met these two in Happily Ever Crowned.
Grigory was asked to save Zaya, after she was left fighting for her life. Giving the halfling his blood saved her and also created a bond between them, a bond neither of them can ignore. A bond so strong, fighting it would be useless.
I loved this story – Grigory is protective over Zaya and is reluctant to leave her alone, even though he was promised to someone else. Zaya’s strength after her trauma and the trust she puts in Grigory are so strong she’s like a new woman. Their chemistry is evident from the start, obviously drinking someone’s blood will help with that.
I love paranormal reads, I could get lost in them for days, especially Anna’s. This duo writing paranormal stories could have me lost for weeks. I felt like I flew through the pages so fast with all the action, suspense and the twists thrown in there. The story was engaging and had me flipping the pages.
I highly recommend this series – if you love being pulled into worlds of the unknown with strong characters, you’ll love it too.
I knew Zaya and Grigory’s story was going to be cosmic and our dynamic duo of Foss and Edwards delivered!
If you have not started this series …
Wait WHY?
If you enjoy your fantasy a little on the darker side
If you like your heroines strong – the kind who may get knocked down but eventually come back bigger and badder
Then this is a must-read series for you
Zaya was innocence and love and hope and all that sappy good stuff when we first met her in book one
Then she became a pawn in a cruel game
Violated, beaten and left for dead
But… thanks to Grigory our little angel is far from broken
This picks up approximately a year after book one ends
Let me start with the polar attraction that is evident between our two MC’s
The chemistry between these two- I know I say it often but here?
It truly was cataclysmic.
Their mutual desire and respect for one another quite literally bleeds from the pages
I knew that despite their current delusions of “not gonna happen” that it was gonna happen!
And when it did?
Not a force in Hades would be able to pull them apart
The twist? The antagonists?
Ewwwww – made my skin crawl
so not a fan
The surprise? I should have known!
We even get a start on the next in series as well as a few revelations that left me needing more NOW!
Oh and …
I totally have a crush on Lucifer. The way that man/demon/deity lavishes love on his lady Lux just slays me
This is one of those series that you need to own the books so you can re-read over and over again
Ever since reading the first book in this series, I’ve been looking forward to getting back to this dark, gritty, lethal action packed version of The Underworld that these two fabulous authors have created.
Happily Ever Bitten is not quite as dark as book one, but is still full of intrigue, suspense, blood, betrayal, action, murder, revenge, secrets and slow burn passion that you know is going to explode once it ignites (if Grigory opens his eyes to what has been in front of him the whole time! Lol) Add the cunning but cruel games of Lucifer into the mix and this was a page turner!
I loved how strong Zaya was, even with her vulnerabilities. She had a lot to learn but she grew in strength and character as her powers developed. She literally went through hell to become the woman she was meant to be. There was a lot more to Grigory than the playboy persona he portrayed too. His loyalty to his kingdom were without bounds and his capacity to love huge. It helped he was one hot, sexy demon too 😉
I love this dark underworld am looking forward to what comes next!
I enjoyed this book and am really liking this series. This book offers an interesting storyline, complex characters, great chemistry, witty banter and plenty of emotion, drama, action and excitement. I liked Grigory and Zaya but that doesn’t mean that I never felt annoyed with them because trust me I did. He suffered from “Can’t see what is right in front of your face” syndrome and she worried me because I felt she wasn’t scared to try to fly when she hadn’t finished learning to walk. I loved them as a couple and refuse to feel guilty about wanting them to be happy and safe. This book does have some darkness to it but not near the level of book one and it is a slow burning romance. This is my volitional, truthful review.
Sarcastic and witty, the second installment of this series was fantastic! Zaya, a halfing healing from soul crushing trauma, wants revenge on those who hurt her. The only problem is a certain Prince of Noxia, Grigory the beautiful and infuriatingly flirty demon, doesn’t think she’s ready. But she’s no longer the timid lady’s maid she was when she was brutally attacked; she a warrior and soul tied to Grigory when he saved her life that fateful night. As his engagement to another kingdom’s princess moves forward and danger follows, both realize that not only are they stronger together and ignoring the attraction between them might mean their defeat. And Zaya may just be more powerful than anyone with a destiny fit for the King of Hell.
After the tragic and horrendous events of the first book, I had no idea what state Zaya’s character would be in at the beginning of this book. With a time jump of 18 months, she still deals with her trauma, but has grown strong under Grigory’s influence and training. I loved the we were able to still see the scars, because those will always be a part of her, but the focus was on growing, learning, and coming to accept each other. For all Grigory’s flirtations and womanizing-ness, he was the perfect partner for Zaya. He teased her when she needed to be distracted, held her through painful memories, and patiently anticipated what she needed to heal. As powerful as Grigory was, this story was about Zaya finding her strength and place in the Underworld, which I loved. They were a partnership through everything and their love story was beautifully executed.
Even with the darker tones, this story held humor, a sigh-worthy relationship, and exquisitely described action.
Happily Ever Bitten – Underworld Royals Series
So book 2 in this series follows Grigory and Zaya who we first met in Happily Ever Crowned. Not quite as dark as book one but I think Lexi strikes a perfect balance considering the characters back story up to this point.
Zaya is recovering from the trauma inflicted on her in book one by slowly becoming the badass she was always meant to be. Then there is Grigory, oh Grigory… your flirty ways intrigued me before, but in this book you truly steal my heart right off the bat. #BookBoyfriend
I LOVE how protective and yet nurturing he is of Zaya in her quest for revenge. I wanted to shake some sense into him to see what was right in front of him at times, but similarly I kind of wanted to do the same to Zaya before she and Grigory finally figured their sh!t out.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review but for someone who is maybe just finding Lexi’s books let me tell you something REAL… This lady crafts not only fantastic characters in her books but amazing worlds and stories to tell their tales. Lexi is by far one of the best romance authors I’ve read to date. Anything of hers is an automatic one-click for me and each new book does not disappoint!
So in closing, buy this book, heck buy ALL her books!! I have and I’ve loved every single one of them. I bet you will too.
This book was one outstanding read with a well wriiten and well planned plot and characters that were so interesting that I was glued to my kindle until the very last page!
Another firm favourite for me.
I loved this couple, the fact that Zaya is a strong, capable woman and that Grigory is nothing less than fully supportive of her, makes me so happy.
The world building in this series is phenomenal and I cannot wait to see more of the realms and the people that fill them.
I do have a small request though… can we have a Lux and Lucifer novella pretty please?
Not as dark as the first one in the series, but still with moments of darkness. It was such a good story. Grigory needed to be slapped a few times, but Zaya also needed to be reminded that even though she had been training, she still had growth to do as well.
A case of best-laid plans meets destiny, the chemistry between the two is believable and both Grigory and Zaya grow as the story progresses. Strong characters make this one well worth the read!
