EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr’s three mantras . His entire life, he’s been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro’s. No girls. No parties. No alcohol. EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.Repeat. Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his … side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.
BIG. DUMB. JOCK.
Charlie has no time for Jackson’s antics. Not when he’s stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she’s ever going to have a boyfriend, she’d choose one who isn’t a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

It was cute and fun but I thought the ended was totally rushed. I was surprised when I turned to the epilogue, I actually thought I skipped a few pages especially after what went down with his dad. It’s just weird that there’s nothing else about his family. Oh well, other than that, I still enjoyed the book.
4 stars. Aww, this was a good book! Jock Road is book three in the Jock Hard series and is Charlotte/Charlie and Jackson’s book. They both attend the same college. A small town Texas guy, Jackson is a star on the football team, but he is not the outgoing, typical jock, popular type. He stays out of trouble and away from women, focusing only on football. Charlie is a sweet girl. She is not the party girl, outgoing type either. Neither of them really date, but when they meet each other they are intrigued and feel a connection. The two become friends and spend time together, which leads to more. Jackson sees that there is more to life outside of football. That his future is his to decide, so he can let himself fall in love and have a HEA with Charlie.
I really liked book one in this series, but I didn’t love book two. So I was apprehensive going into this book. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised. Jock Hard is a really sweet, easy read. Charlie and Jackson meet when he tailgates her in her car, blinding her with his bright, jacked up truck lights. She tells him off. Then they meet again in the cafeteria when he cuts the line and takes her food off the counter. They don’t get off on a great foot, but Jackson likes Charlie’s sassyness. The two end up becoming friends. Jackson has led a kind of lonely life, with pressure from his father to only focus on football and a career in the NFL. He has no experience with women at all and hasn’t allowed himself to even go there. But Charlie shows him that there is more to life than football. They have great chemistry and are really cute together. I love the sweetness, sexiness and low angst of the story. I really liked Charlie and Jackson. I did think the pacing was a little off at the end of the story and it kind of fizzled out. I wanted a further ahead epilogue and to know what Jackson decided about his future football career. I just wanted a little more resolution. Still, I really enjoyed it.
Overall, this was a really sweet, simple story. I enjoyed seeing Charlie and Jackson’s relationship develop. I am looking forward to more from this fun series!
Sometimes a story is not about twists and turns and surprises. Sometimes it is all about a journey. Jock Road by Sara Ney was a journey of love, friendship and self discovery. It was oddly satisfying because it was relaxing like taking a stroll around my favorite lake and exhilarating like my favorite mountain hike. At the same time.
It was a romance in every word. I watched the relationship of Jackson, the odd eccentric shy jock and Charlie, the lively sassy girl getting built up brick by brick. And let me tell you it was the most fascinating thing ever. I usually do a structured review but I just cannot do that with Jock Road. Because the feelings and emotions were too much for some over used adjectives. After all how do you express the smoothness of melting butter, the sweetness of honey, the softness of your oldest tshirt? Jock Road had every goodness you can imagine and then some more. I could literally feel the all consuming emotions in my bones. The story did not have ups and downs but the progression of true love was weirdly fascinating and hypnotizing. I knew next chapter would only bring new phases of this relationship but I was eagerly turning pages as I was dying to be hit by the next emotional high.
Jackson is a brilliant character. Easily misunderstood and stereotyped. But this southern gentleman has so many facets. He is unsure about his feelings and his lovability and his worth as a good soul. He has been so focused on his football career that he was living in almost saintly state. No party, no girlfriend, no distraction. Until Charlie entered his life by some hilarious accidents. Now Charlie is not a cleat chaser. She is a level headed, strong minded girl but she is falling for Jackson as she can see the true Jackson behind his cocky, awkward and annoying self. The chemistry is perfect. Sometimes they were fighting over stupid and silly things. And those encounters made me laugh so hard. And then there were those exquisitely tender and intense moments. They gave me full on shiver and goosebumps.
Jock Road by Sara Ney was sexy, funny, lighthearted, enthralling, mesemerizing and many other things. But above all, I connected with the characters magically. I laughed, cried and swooned with them. My heart beats for Jackson and Charlie.

Anyone else like me and always waiting for the next Sara Ney book release?! Jock Road is here and it has been on my highly-anticipated list for this year. Hands down a rather cute and adorable hero that is Jackson. Who second guesses everything he does except when it comes to being hungry He’s definitely the most dorky, innocent, yet sweet as pie hero that Sara has ever given us.
Overall, I truly, TRULY, enjoyed their story. Was it my favorite, not quite. But it had it’s many moments that I definitely loved.
I think the one thing that I struggled with was the pacing in their relationship. Now normally, I don’t mind it sometimes, but it didn’t work in this instance. The tone of how their relationship was going to go or well supposed to grow was set in the first half of the book. And then once the second part came, it just sped off rather too quickly for my liking. Everything that was kind of just jumbled all together and one scenario was left unfinished.
With that being said, trusttttt me, I thought it was a decent read and definitely a great addition to this series. Everyone will find something to love about the Jackson Jennings.

I really enjoyed Jock Road. It’s not a typical Sara Ney book and a little different from the rest of the series, but Charlie and Jackson will have you swooning for days and laughing your fanny off. This is one of the most unconventional couples I’ve read to date. While on the outside they seem like total opposites, once you start peeling the onion layers back, they have the biggest hearts.
Jackson, a Southern gentleman (well sometimes), is one of the country’s best college wide receivers. He was born and bred into football. He’s slightly lacking on the social graces and basic niceties, and he’s super clumsy in the female department. This green giant of a man has the best heart. He’s dying to be accepted, to be loved, to find his person, to find a life outside of football. He’s just beside himself when he meets Charlie. She could be his kryptonite.
Charlie, full of snarky wit, she’s caring, and sassy. Just maybe Jackson’s perfect match. She can dive deep into his thoughts to truly unleash what he’s been too afraid to explore. Their love story is truly unique and albeit a little quick.
Overall, Jock Road was a great read, just not my favorite of the series. The writing was on point, no one does dry witty humor like Sara Ney, the characters were charming and funny, but there was something missing to be a stand out book.
Gah! Sara Ney has once again delivered a fun, sexy and laugh out loud narrative that will hit you with all of the feels. Jackson and Charlie were absolutely adorable and completely addicting with their sizzling chemistry and fiery hot banter. I positively devoured this amusing and entertaining, enemies-to-lovers story with a smile on my face from start to finish.
When Charlotte “Charlie” Edmonds meets Jackson “Triple J” Jennings, it was definitely not love at first sight. He steals her food, he teases her and he’s definitely not her usual type. He is a mountain of rolling muscle with a big dumb truck who’s sole focus in life is football. She would never fall for someone like him. Not now. Not ever. But then she did. What follows is an amazing story filled with lots of laughs and heartfelt moments.
I was completely captivated by this couple, just waiting for that moment when they’d succumb to the pull, and it was well worth the wait. I absolutely loved Jackson and Charlie, especially how their antagonistic relationship naturally morphed into one of adoration.
It’s no surprise that I love Sara Ney’s writing. But her Jock Hard series is fast becoming a favorite. Her writing style, her sense of humor, the way that she pairs her couples-it all works very well for me. Jock Road is filled to the brim with plenty of heart, humor and heat. This story made my heart race, my cheeks burn and kept me laughing out loud well into the night. It is a stellar addition to an already amazing series! 5 Sinfully Sweet & Sexy Stars!
