From the moment I scent her, I have to have her underneath me.The human female spins and runs straight into my chest.“Oh!” she says but then she stops, frozen as she stares up at me. “Hi.”I, too, am stopped in place. This female is nothing like the others I have seen. She is petite, with long flowing black hair. Her features are as foreign to me as any humans, but for some reason I find her face … some reason I find her face pleasing.
Before I can think better of it, my tongue sneaks out over my lips to scent my surroundings.
But all I can smell is her.
And I’ve never scented anything so delicious in my life.
MINE.
It’s all but a convulsion that tears through my body.
What? No! No, this cannot be happening!
My denials are weak, though.
Far louder is the cry: Mine, mine, mine, mine, MINE, MINE.

Things I enjoyed about this book: Shak- the alien hero, for some reason he reminds me of a grown up “Oh” from the animated movie Home & I LOVED that movie. I have several notes from places where the way he worded something made me laugh out loud. I liked how he was so interested in Juliet despite her not being the “right” one, trying so hard to “court” her etc. And the way he handles bad guys cracked me up “it takes longer than I would like to dispose of the bodies” … The story line is a bit silly and loses some steam for me once they connect back up with Shaks people (the only real drawback for me) but I know I would read this again and look forward to the next book in the series – no cliffhangers here which is a big plus for me. As with most works by this author sex is a big part of the book and is pretty graphic – so don’t pick it if that’s not your thing. Over all a fun read, with some lighter weight challenges-
Are they compatible?
Juliet is a human when whispers of aliens surface.
She meets Shak, an alien disguised as a human as he’s part of the first wave arriving. His sun died and they are looking for new mates.
Can these two species commingle.
Shak is pretty into Juliet right away, but there are changes in store for her and aliens who don’t want them together.
What a way to meet a hot alien. Getting your coffee and turn and run right into him. Little does she know she is his mate. But her life is already a mess. A boyfriend who belongs to a motorcycle that beats her. The only way for her to heal is to sneak out to a motel room. The alien buys a flower shop across from her home so he can watch and protect her. The aliens go through treatments to look more human so they can find mates. The women on their home planet are sterile and can have no children. There is so much more involved there. Her alien sees her getting beat up by her boyfriend and kills him. They manage to get together but things start to blow wide open and the drama is not over. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I think this is the first Stasia Black book that I’ve read that I couldn’t just start putting into words how much I loved the story. With this story, it didn’t leave any lasting impressions on me, but I did enjoy reading it for the sake of reading it. The Draci home planet is dying so they send a convoy to mate with specific females from Earth, in the hopes that their race will live on. The story became almost too predictable for me, so it took away from what I did enjoy about it.
All this, and HEA too!
Stasia Black knows how to write ’em!! He’s alien, a bastard Draci virgin genetically modified for human appearance, but he’s packing double heat. She’s human, been a victim of violence all her life, but has the heart and the guts to rise above, especially after the wings come in… This is the hottest, most exciting, and most heartwarming alien romance. There’s betrayal, a body count, a coup d’etat, a baby on board, a new twist on the alien abduction theme, and i loved every freakin’ minute of this funny, earnest, steamy alien romance. I want more! Thank goodness, there are a couple of adorably geeky sidekicks who (please, please, please) could carry on the human/Draci experiment… This ia a voluntary ARC review.
I really enjoyed reading Shak and Juliet story it has as much action as I love reading in a sci-fi romance story. And I hope there is more to come I would definitely love to read more of this draci’s world.
Love this exciting and exceptional new series
My Alien’s Obsession by Stasia Black is the first book of a new series (Draci Alien Romance) and she has wowed me again! I have loved every book written by this author! This book introduces the reader to a new alien race with it’s own set of problems and solutions to earth’s problems while humans hold the key to reversing the alien’s problems. Win win, right? Well, hold on for a wild ride, because this one is bumpy!
This book was so fun to read! The characters, Shak and Juliet are so engaging and interesting I was enthralled with them and their stories from the beginning. Shak is super sweet yet protective, totally alpha and smoking hot too. Juliet is sweet, vulnerable, hurt and scarred from her past, not to mention freaked out, but so incredibly strong and resilient. These two are equally entertaining and captivating.
The plot for the series is also interesting and I am totally invested in this series! I cannot wait for book 2. It promises to be just as entertaining, interesting and engaging as this book was for me.
Overall, an exceptionally well written alien paranormal romance with fantastic characters, an interesting new alien species and a HEA with an ending that promises more good things to come for this series.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
3 and a half stars
this was interesting. the first 3rd was iffy but I kept going and by the end I actually enjoyed it. the alien issues and political stuff was great and I would have loved more of that.
My Alien’s Obsession by Stasia Black has it ALL! Shak & Juliet are exploisive together. (All I can say is I want a Draci Male…lol…) Scorching sex scenes, humor, sci-fi, wide range of emotions, smexy times, chemistry, action, intrigue, alien-hotness…there is something for everyone to enjoy! Stasia expertly provides Draci backstory & history and world-builds it into Draci & Earth cultures. I got lost in enjoying the Alien Fantasy of her new series. I look forward to Stasia’s next book! *I received an ARC for my honest review.
He’s a charming, bodyguard that his guard up about Juliet’s boyfriend. He sees something in this girl that he likes. He’s been sent to do a job which she doesn’t know about.
I received an review copy, voluntarily but this is my review
Once upon a time, there’s three girl friends: Juliet, Ana and Gisele.
They were inseparable, even though they had such different personalities.
When one of them sent text with SOS, the others knew they should appear right at the meeting place.
And that’s what Juliet did.
She went to the coffee shop to wait for her friends, and ends up bumping into a huge and handsome man.
As soon as her friends arrive, Ana seems to be the most anxious: she had discovered through the dark web the news that there were aliens living among humans.
Truth or lie?
Juliet lived alone and led a life her two friends did not understand. She insisted on keeping an abusive boyfriend.
He was part of a MC. He came to her house stinking of other women’s perfume, demanded things, complained about the food she cooked and beat her. Why didn’t she get rid of him?
Next to her building was a flower shop, where she went to buy at least one flower for herself every day. It brought her peace.
The day after another abusive visit from Robbie, Juliet learns that the flower shop was sold to the guy who had bumped into her at the coffee shop.
From that day on, a great deal changed in Juliet’s life, starting with her no longer having to worry about Robbie, and having in her life a man (alien) who would treat her as queen – literally and figuratively.
The plot is okay.
Some more dramatic parts happen very fast, but the book is fun.
4 stars
This is a super steamy alien romance that will leave you wanting more.
When a planned accidental meeting goes sideways…Shak and Juliet have this instant thing going on, and their trip to true love is a blast to read. I loved the pure escapism and was reminded again of that old Geena Davis movie, Earth Girls Are Easy, but these aliens have no preconceived ideas of what earth women are supposed to be like in a relationship aside from what they’ve learned from old movies and songs. It’s a cool story, lots of hot, double package, triple stamina, total escapism sex, which makes for some fast reading anyway, but the story also has violence, and fighting and political intrigue. Add in the scientific alterations and the intense sibling rivalry, and needless to say, this story was hard to put down! I loved it, it was fun to read and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series!
Juliet is in an abusive relationship but refuses to leave her boyfriend. One time when she goes to an hotel to heal from yet another beating she attracts the attention of an alien that has taken an liking to her. The aliens have just landed to start their search for mates when Shak sees Juliet and is immediately drawn to her. He follows her to where she is staying and then watches her from afar. He knows that she is the one for him so he begins his plans for her. he takes care of the abusive boyfriend and then finds her at the hotel. Sparks fly between them as Juliet is as attracted to him as he to her. Will Juliet give Shak a chance?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first page. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
