I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. It’s a new year in the small town of Glendale and this year it brings a new mayor, a man named Marc; however, not everyone is happy about that. The biggest issue seems to be the fact that he’s single and Glendale is a family oriented town. Shortly after his inauguration, Mark comes to hire Angie to find his missing golden retriever who has reportedly been kidnapped. While Angie does take the case, both she and Octo-Cat believe Mark is lying about something or at least holding something back. During the case, Angie’s trail leads her to a path that winds up being entrenched in a previous investigation.
I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. Life in a small town is not always easy but Angie takes it in stride. She’s especially good at handling her lovable but often overbearing Nan and her entitled cat. The book’s well-written with wonderful characters, both animal and human. Even the characters you don’t like are well-developed. I loved this book and am looking forward to more of this series. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
