In this fierce rivalry, only one of us can end up on top…Zach Holiday is scary.Scary good-looking.Scary talented.Scary wealthy. And sometimes – with all the stupid pranks he pulled on me in high school – just downright scary. Now I’m running against him for mayor of our small town and he thinks I’m the same sweet little pushover I once was. But he’s dead wrong about that. This election is just the … he’s dead wrong about that.
This election is just the first step on my journey to the Oval Office and I won’t let my high school bully stand in my way.
When we meet at our first campaign event – the town’s annual pumpkin festival – I’m there to rock the vote and knock Zach down a peg. I walk right up to him and paste my campaign sticker across his chest.
His surprisingly chiseled chest.
I blush.
He smirks.
And suddenly he’s got me right where he wants me. He may be up to his old tricks but I’ve got a few of my own now.

I believe this is the first book by this author and she has done a really great job with it. It’s a short novella so doesn’t take long to read but it’s a very likable story with nice characters in it. It’s a fun, entertaining read.

This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. A little treat for any time you want to get away and maybe add a smile to your day.
Nice Debut book by author
Scary & Sweet is the first book I have read by Kaylin Evans, and also her debut book, so I was not sure what to expect. But the story description looked interesting and as it is a shorter story, which always give the reader a good indication of how the author can write, I figured I would pick this book up.
I think the author did a decent job writing an insta-love story between Abbi and Holiday. There were a few things that I did not much like or agree with and I felt at times the story did not quite flow. But it was still an interesting story with some surprises and some nice steamy scenes.
My only big issue is the number of proofreading mistakes. These tend to drive me crazy and detract from my reading experience and pleasure of being able to be lost in a story. So for this reason I have rated the book 3 Stars. I think that Kaylin shows promise as an author and once this author gets another book or two under her belt they should be tighter and flow better, along with hopefully be better proofread.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Scary & Sweet was a quick and enjoyable read. This is the first book by this author that I have read and was rather surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The characters are a delightful pair, Abbi is putting her name in the running for mayor in her town of Holiday Valley where the past mayors were all a Holiday family member but she is hopping to change that, Zach is the son to the current mayor and his name is in the running for mayor also. This is where the real fun starts. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it. If you enjoy a fun and entertaining story that will keep a smile on your face this is definitely the story for you.

Abbi Ross is a political science graduate and she has a chance to run for mayor in her small town, Holiday Valley. The current mayor, Maggie Holiday, is retiring after holding this position for the past sixteen years. Abbi has collected her signatures and just has to hand in her papers then she will be in the official running. However, as she has five minutes left til the deadline, she runs into Zach Holiday, this guy is a year younger then her and he has tormented her through school. He is supposed to be away at college for another year. What is he doing here? What is stranger is that he tells her that he doesn’t want the position and is supporting Abbi in the process. Can Abbi remember her tricks she has or is Zach capable of disarming all of them before she can use them? This was a short read but a really good story and flow to it. It was a good holiday read. Enjoy!

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I thought it was a cute story. Abbie ad Zach were childhood frenemies and they both were harboring secret crushes on the other since they were kids. They both are running for mayor however Zach is doing so under duress so he decides to do what he can to help Abbi win. It was a quick fun read with a cute HEA. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Abbi can’t believe Zach, her childhood bully is running for Mayor against her. Why he says he doesn’t want the position can she believe him?
Laughter and fun are what bring Abbi and Zach together. Will the results be what she wants?

Scary & Sweet: Halloween in Holiday Valley, Kaylin Evans’s debut, is a contemporary, small town, holiday romantic comedy told in first person, dual POV. It’s the first novella in the upcoming Holiday Valley series of steamy romantic comedies.
Abbi Ross is running for mayor of her small town, and she isn’t thrilled when she learns that Zach Holiday is running against her. Not only is he the son of the current retiring mayor, but he’s also Abbi’s childhood bully. Over the years, Zach has teased, pranked, and fooled her far too many times. He may think that good looks and family connections will win him the election, but Abbi is not willing to go down without a fight. So why does it seem like Zach’s helping her? Is he setting Abbi up for another prank?
I enjoyed Abbi and Zach’s story. They had great chemistry and fun, witty banter. Overall, this was a cute, quick and entertaining read. It was humorous, sweet, and very steamy. A solid debut.
