She meets him one night a year on Christmas Eve. The chemistry between them is explosive. She doesn’t know his name, where he lives, or what he does for a living. It’s been five years. Corked and Tapped is the name of the local neighborhood bar, though the patrons may argue it is far from ordinary. Be … patrons may argue it is far from ordinary. Wow! What a quick and spicy romance!
Paris met Joel five years ago and began what they both thought would be a one night stand. But right from the start, they both wanted much more than one night yet they had agreed. But on the anniversary of their tryst, they gave each other a chance to continue things the next year. Which is how they got to where they are five years later. Now they just have to see if they can make it work for more than just one passionate night a year.
This is the eleventh book in the Corked and Tapped series and is better when read in the order it was written but can be read as a standalone… but why?
I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So, I’ve been reading the advanced copies of all the Corked & Tapped books, and I have to say that some are sweet, some are simply erotic, others are downright filthy. Here we have one that doesn’t really fit into any category. Paris and Joel have been having a “Same Time, Next Year” affair for the past 5 years. They meet on Christmas Eve, have wild, exciting sex, and then part until the following year. No last names, no identifying info; they don’t even know where the other lives. Finally, Paris is ready to open her heart and let Joel know what he means to her, but the fear of rejection is hard to get over.
I loved these two characters, even when I just wanted to knock their heads together and yell to get over themselves! It’s a sweet, easy and fun read for the holidays!!
I’m a fan of Becca Jameson but until this series I’ve only read longer stories from her & wondered how much I would enjoy these, given that they are such a short, quick reads. I needn’t have worried because they’re wonderful. Yes, you can easily get through this in an hour but it gives the impression of a much longer, more detailed story. That’s why I keep coming back for more. I really loved this story, although I was a bit on stalker alert for a while. I’m glad that it worked out. I felt the vulnerability demonstrated by Joel was fantastic.
Short and steamy. This book hooked me from the beginning. Paris and Joel have an unusual arrangement. One night a year, no last names, no personal details. Is that enough? What if one wants more?
I loved the quirks in this story, the way it ends, and the steam… oh boy. Have water handy.
Paris is a really interesting entry in the Corked and Tapped series, in that it’s a play on the “Same Time, Next Year” idea. Paris and Joel have met on Christmas Eve for the last five years for a wild once-a-year stand. Over that time, Paris has moved to the point that she wants to make their relationship into more than once every 365 days. But she has no idea if Joel feels the same way or not.
There’s a fair amount of suspension of disbelief I had to engage for this story, in that these are two physically stunning people who nonetheless manage to avoid romantic interaction with anyone but each other during a year (confirmed for Paris, but only implied for Joel). That these two have managed to skip all obligations on Christmas Eve (and go out to restaurants easily) for multiple years in a row is somewhat of a stretch. And Joel has another factor, revealed late in the novella, that is a bit hard to believe in relation to his annual engagement with Paris.
That said, I loved how Paris is just on the edge throughout this book—she wants Joel, but she also needs more from Joel, and she is terrified of what that means for her and for him and for the rest of their families and friends. Joel is a bit of an enigma, but I loved how Jameson quickly resolved some of their issues while creating new ones.
Overall, I really liked this book. Both Joel and Paris are engaging, and Jade, the protagonist of an earlier story, makes a welcome return in this novella. There is a great amount of sexual tension throughout Paris, and that combined with the emotional tension between the characters made me keep flipping the pages to see what would happen next.
Paris is looking forward to Joel’s annual visit. They’d met in a collision of bodies five years ago and spent the hottest night of her life. Every year they meet up on Christmas Eve, but there were rules, they didn’t know anything about each other except their names and wouldn’t search for more.
This year Paris is determined this will be different, she wants more. She wants a real relationship, but he’s broken the rules.
Now Paris needs to know everything and she’s afraid of the consequences of what may be revealed.
Absolutely Sizzling and a secret that surprised me. Definitely didn’t see that one coming!
Another amazing book by Becca Jameson that had me hooked from the very beginning! The storyline was well written and the characters were so well created that I didn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page!
Paris is a redux of ‘Same Time, Next Year.” Joel and Paris meet once a year on Christmas Eve for five years for a date filled with food, good conversation and great sex. After five years Paris has decided it’s time to go big or go home. Imagine her shock when he lays his cards on the table too. Once again the bar stool at the end of the Corked and Tapped bar proves it’s magical!
I received an advance copy of this book. This is my voluntary review. Ms. Jameson’s Corked and Tapped novellas offer her readers a single sitting romantic interlude! This novella features Joel and Paris’ story. An annual rendezvous. Why? The spark is there. Why can’t they pursue it further? Or, why won’t they? By the end of the story, you will know. It ended far too soon for me! I feel like I know these two in such a short period of time, and I want to know more. I fell in love with Joel. Not sure I agree with him though. I really enjoyed this story and am sad there may only be one story remaining from the Corked and Tapped bar!
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Paris Corked and Tapped#11 . I really enjoyed reading this story. Paris and Joel met five years ago and agreed they would be together every Christmas Eve if they were both single . Their arrangement is unique they don’t know much about each other and no last names . Paris hasn’t been with anyone in the five years . This year she’s laying her cards on the table . She has fallen for Joel and wants more then one night a year . This is a delightful , Sexy and steamy romance . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Wow
Paris is sitting with Jade her friend at her favorite bar Corked & Tapped waiting for Joel who she spent every Christmas Eve with for the last five years. This was the sixth time that they would meet on Christmas Eve and Paris wanted more. Could she risk never seeing Joel again? In the last five years they only spent one night together and waited another 365 day’s to spend another night. Paris was afraid but determined, for the sixth time in five years all she could do was stare and breathe. This is THE VERY BASIC BEGINNING TO THE STORY. Which I loved. I was given this and I voluntarily leave this review.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Paris has been meeting Joel one night a year for five years.
Paris wants more that only one night.
Is Joel ready to be in a relationship with Paris ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
An OUTSTANDING romance that you’ll want to read and re-read!!
This entire series has been a creative MUST-READ for any romance reader! However, PARIS, author Becca Jameson’s newest addition to her OUTSTANDING series CORKED AND TAPPED has just moved into my FIRST PLACE, FAVORITE of the series, and for seasonal romances in general. As always, author Jameson’s writing was perfect: sensuous enough to ramp-up the romance with enough suspense to keep readers glued to their chairs and turning pages as quickly as they can read, while being descriptive enough to make every reader feel as though they are voyeuristically in the room with Joel and Paris during this time of discovery! PARIS captures that moment when the gears mesh and the powerful STEAM of this relationship moves Paris and Joel from something irresistible into something so powerful – it defines ROMANTIC. I fell in love with Joel and Paris and the wonderful patience each one held onto over the years of their courtship. Is it too much for this reader to hope that author Jameson reads this review and writes more about this amazing couple?? I really hated to see this novella end . . . I voluntarily read a copy of PARIS and this is my voluntary and HONEST 5-STAR review! At any cost, this wonderful story will have readers rejoicing! So, get your copy of PARIS today! Happy pages!
Aria by Becca Jameson is book 1 in the Corked and Tapped Series. This is a quick story of Aria who went on a dating site and got to know a man named Mike. But the sites theme was not pictures so she never really knew what he looked liked. So when she went for their scheduled time to meet it seem he didn’t show up but there was a guy there who she ended up talking too and much more.
This was a quick hot read.
