Danger and excitement follow this couple from the first chapter. The author does a great job describing the areas through which they travel, helping the reader to feel as if they are riding alongside them. The underlying mystery seems more of an afterthought, but the romance is sizzling enough that the subplots aren’t important.
It had been a while since I had read a historical western romance, and I knew Stacy Reid would not disappoint. LAWLESS: Noah Kincaid, while third in the series, can definitely be read as a standalone. But I’ll admit I had problems rating this book for a very unusual reason: authenticity. Can we have too much of a good thing?
LAWLESS is not a cute western, it’s brutal out there at the end of the nineteenth century in Wyoming Territory. It’s obvious Ms. Reid carefully researched the era, but still I was somewhat taken aback by the violence, which is thankfully kept mostly off-page. Noah Kincaid is a really, really tough guy, the sort we seldom see in historical romances. Even the circumstances under which Noah and Ada Bancroft meet are trying: it happens during what appears to be a train robbery. Ada is a wonderful character, a real frontierswoman in spite of her posh education, but Noah! My goodness, he’s as complex as they come! He’s good to Ada, but he’s just not civilised! I don’t remember reading a romance where so many people die. By the way, the cover is great, it’s how I imagined Noah.
While the romance is at the core of the story, LAWLESS is the action movie version of a romance novel. Noah and Ada’s road to their happily-ever-after is fraught with peril, and not just for the damsel! It’s a very realistic romance, and although I found Noah a bit scary at times, I would have been grateful to have him on my side under the circumstances. LAWLESS is an absorbing story, just don’t expect a rainbows-and-unicorns historical western romance, it was a rough world out there.
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

Ada and Noah meet during a train robbery. They flee together, but she’s been shot. He intends to get her safely back to her family. But once she’s home, she’s still in danger, and he appoints himself to be her bodyguard. Until he knows that she’s the one. This is not a sweet little western romance – there’s much more action than romance going on. It’s steamy when it needs to be, though. I don’t generally read many historical westerns, but I love this book. There was so much sizzle between Ada and Noah, even as he tried to deny it. I’m ready to go back and read the first two book in this series.

Captivating western historical.
Stacy Reid is one of my favorite historical western writers. Like the other books, I have read of hers this one is realistic and not in any way a sweet romance. There is a great deal of violence in the story with some very complex characters. Noah Kincaid is just what the title says he is lawless and hard as nails. Now, Ada is an artist who wants to be a writer and she has a strong and determined way about her. She may have been raised in the East but was in no way a powder puff. Their relationship was so honest and this story took hold of me and would not let go. It was so good high praise and an even high recommendation you really should read this one. Picking up a series is not a bad idea either! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Ada is finally on her way home after spending the last several years in England. On the final leg of her journey, the train is is on is boarded by outlaws and it seems they are after her. She manages to escape their clutches with the help of the mysterious man that she sharing their car on the train. But now the two of them and his dog must make their way across the rugged country to get her home.
Noah is on his way to visit his family after years on the road. But he couldn’t allow Ada to be taken, so jumps into the foray. While traveling together to Ada’s home, the two develop a mutual attraction. But Noah is determined to never marry and Ada knows her father would never approve. They plan to go their separate ways once they arrive at Ada’s home. But as Noah prepares to leave Ada safely in the arms of her family, he learns that she is still in danger and appoints himself her bodyguard.
But this close proximity, just brings the two of them closer together. Will Noah change his mind about marriage and if he does, will Ada’s father permit them to marry?
I really enjoyed Noah and Ada’s story! This is the third book in the series and I think people will enjoyed it better having read the other two books before starting, as I did. I loved watching these two together. Their chemistry was read hot and just kept getting steamier as the book went on. This was a great addition to this series!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3052811613
Miss Ada Heide Bancroft admired the man sitting across from her on the train. He was exactly as she described an outlaw in the unpublished novels she wrote – handsome, dashing, with a rakish air of danger and menace. She sketched him in her sketch pad with charcoal to help refresh her memory as she returned to her writing later. She wished she could see his face and later got her wish as laid his head back on the seat. When his eyes opened, she noted aloud that they were green. And she talked to him about his dog, much to her step-mother’s dismay.
Noah Kincaid has the reputation of a ruthless, lawless man. She speaks to him on a journey by train, and shakes his dog’s paw in greeting! The dog’s easy acceptance of her made Noah more receptive as well. When a gang makes an attempt to kidnap Ada, Noah comes to her rescue and the two of them flee from the train to escape. Noah and Dutch keep Ada safe while he tries to get her home, and she begins to feel a strong attraction to the brave protective man. Ada herself is fearless and strong, not the frail flower her family would wish her to be. She is willing to fight against the bad guys alongside Noah. Mutual respect pulls them even closer to each other. Their path to happiness will not be an easy one, but deeply knowing and understanding each other will put them on a very strong foundation if she can convince Noah that he’s perfect for her!
This was a wonderful story that keeps the reader’s attention from the start. Such an independent woman as Ada would not be happy with the arranged marriage her father has set up. Fate’s intervention with the strong, protective Noah came at the perfect time to give both of them a chance at something very real. Grab your copy and see if they take advantage of a chance to find each other and the HEA that may be waiting for them.
I really enjoyed this book. It has a entertaining story and likable characters. The storyline was fun and offers a well written blend of drama, emotions, action, adventure and romance. Noah and Ada made a wonderful couple that was easy to root for and become completely invested in. This is my frank, freely posted review.

This is the long awaited third in the series but it was well worth the wait. Gunslinging cowboys aren’t my favourite genre by any means but if the author writes it I’ll read it. I made the big mistake of starting this enthralling, captivating read when I went to bed, four hours later I finished it. I loved Noah & how he fell for Ada. She was returning home to her father’s ranch after four years in England, she was a strong feisty woman who was a wiz with a bow & arrow. The chemistry between them was electric. The journey to their HEA was strewn with obstacles & made for a riveting read.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Book three in The Kincaids series. Full length can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone with each book about a Kincaid sibling. Secondary characters are the same throughout the series. It takes place in the Wyoming Territory in 1870. The area is lawless and violent especially for women. Noah stops Ada’s kidnapping and returns her safely to her family ranch. He is known as being lawless and doesn’t want to get married with so many outlaws trying to take him out. Ada is patient and determined that Noah is her man. I would have loved an epilogue; I hope there is a story for Jenny soon!
WOW! Ada wanted to experience an outlaw and boy did she. Noah is definitely a very protective swoon-worthy hero. He is quiet and deadly. I love a hero who is tortured (which Noah kind of is but not too much) but sees that love will help him through his troubles. And what can you say about Dutch but loyal to a fault. Ada experiences quite a bit and I love her take-no-prisoners attitude. They are so cute and sweet together. This is my favorite Kincaid story.
Wonder what will happen with Sarah??? Will she get a story?

This is the best historical western I’ve read this year!
Oh my goodness, I swooned hard for Noah! Lethal, taciturn, yet simmering with barely-restrained heat and power, Noah drew Ada to him like a moth to a flame. When she’s the focus of a band of outlaws who targeted their train, Noah finds himself in the role of her protector and puts his own plans on hold to ensure her safe return home. Ada was such a spitfire! Yet so sweet and honest; I loved how direct she was with Noah and how fearless she was in fighting all the various outlaws they encountered.
The progression of their romance was authentic and highly emotional, building their relationship on the strongest of foundations despite their amazing chemistry. I received an ARC of this book, but was so impressed with the story and invested in the Kincaid family that I immediately purchased the first two books in the series. I could not have loved this book more.
